Posted by Jen | MFT, blog hopping, projects | Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Welcome to the MY FAVORITE THINGS September Blog Hop and Shop! What do you think of this release? Lots of fun stuff, right? I’d love to know your faves! You can see all the fun new stuff in the Brand Spankin’ New section on the MFT site. You also have a chance to win some MFT goodies just by leaving a comment here and on each stop along the hop! Good Luck!!

Well, as the title of this post says, it’s a hop. The beginning of the hop is HERE on the MFT/Kim’s blog and you should have hopped from Barbara’s blog. When you leave here, you’ll be off to Joanne’s blog, where I am sure she has some stamping sweetness waiting for you! Don’t worry, I’ll be linking her later in this post, too.

Tonight, My Favorite Things released a great new alpha set called Wendy. It’s an uppercase alpha set using the trademark font that MFT is so well known for using in their sets. With Nic’s room as my inspiration, I created this baby boy themed shadowbox…

Love this font!…

One of MY favorite things about this release is the new Rounded Banner Trio

Here’s a detail shot of my project with this die trio…

I know you have a lot to take in along this hop, so get on over to Joanne’s blog for some more MFT greatness!

Bottom’s Up…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, challenges, projects | Thursday, August 19, 2010

That phrase has a couple meaning around here lately! Haha!

Bottom’s Up is this week’s theme for TCP Tuesday! No need to check your calendars, it is Thursday and I am running a bit behind on getting this challenge done. Better late than never, riiiight. Maybe not, but here it is…

This week’s Hipster Hostess with the Mostess is none other than my friend, Susan. You can check out all the deets for the this week’s challenge on her TCP Tuesday post HERE. If you want to play along, you will be linking your project to The TCP/Alma’s blog for a chance to win some fun money to spend on the TCP site.

A little about my project…
I decided to make a tag that can be added to a tea themed gift at a later date. I popped up the main image {from Toni’s Tea Set} that is stamped on a circle and then paper pierced around the mat circle. The open scallop punch on the top is from Fiskars and I thought it matched the tea/table setting perfectly. Papertrey ribbon tops it all off and I when I attach this to a gift I will just add a piece of silver cording.

Gotta run and attempt to get some stuff done around the house and prep for my Copic classes this weekend!

Welcome Baby Emma…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, projects | Friday, July 23, 2010

Just wanted to share my congratulations and “Welcome Emma” project here today. Megan Lock, MFT DT Member, SFYTT Sister and friend welcomed her lil’ Emma into the world on July 20th. Congratulations!!

When Megan was out here for the North Texas Swap, I asked if I could make a diaper bag tag for her. She gladly said, “yes,” and this is what I came up with for sweet baby E {and not a day to early/late!!}…

The baker’s twine is wrapped over the stitching {yep, I stitched it right to the badge holder plastic} of the eyelet lace…

I packaged it all up in a glassine bag and added some girly details…

I Want Candy…

Posted by Jen | MFT, projects | Thursday, July 15, 2010

~~New a´ la mode stamps blog hop post below~~

I really do want candy, but that’s not this post is going to be all about. I want candy is actually a stamp set from MFT {you can see it HERE on the MFT site}. It has been sitting un-inked in my MFT drawer for a long while and I am glad that I finally got the chance to break it out of its packaging and give it a little love.

ab_bag

I created this bag using the 2-4-6-8 box concept, but changed up my dimensions using 1.5″ for the sides and 4″ for the front/back. I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this before, but since I was using double sided pattern paper, I folded down the top to show off the other side. I attached the tripled stamped and colored lollipop panel onto a large scallop rectangle die cut panel. I like the way the larger scallops look on this project. The handle is about an inch wide and is flag ended on either side and attached to the bag using a large brad that is matted with cardstock.

Here’s a detail shot of the lollipops…

As noted above, my new release {mid-month} blog hop is the post below. On Friday, many peeps on the MFT crew will be giving love to other Amanda Baird sets {she’s the one that drew those oh so cute a´ la modes, too}. Kim will have a full list on her blog of those peeps.

Have a great day!

It’s SNEAKY PEEK WEEK at THE CAT’S PAJAMAS!

sneaky_peek_week

Be sure to check out the TCP/Alma’s blog for a complete list of where to find all the sneak peeks! In addition to it being the sneak peek day for WHALE OF A TIME, it’s also TCP TUESDAY and Hipster Hostess with the Mostess, AMY {click on her name to get all the deets on how to win Cat Cash for playing along!}, has issued a TWINE CHALLENGE!! In case you haven’t seen yet, TCP is now offering DIVINE TWINE is a slew of colors from which to choose. Here’s what I came up with…

tcptues118shadowbox

This is a shadowbox from IKEA that I made into a sweet baby{ish} gifty. The navy is felt {hint hint of what’s to come at TCP} and the waves were created from something else special coming your way from TCP!! Each of the waves is embossed with an embossing folder do give it a little bit more dimension. I created the life preserver from Nestabilities and then attached my DIVINE TWINE to make it part of it. The twine is also on top of the ribbon that goes all the way around the box.

Although I love the idea of creating more of these shadowboxes, I got a taste of how hard they are to photograph! Here are a few more photos of the project {the 20+ I had to take!}…

Here’s another peek at this oh-so-fun-to-paper-piece whale on a simple, but fun, card I created…

Just leave a comment of the sneak peekers each day {full list HERE} and one lucky ducky commenter will win all EIGHT sets!! Winner will be announced at the July 19th RELEASE PARTY ON SCS! Good luck! :)
