Sites of the week

Tony, Ellie and I just got back from super sunny San Diego at midnight Wednesday/Thursday. We had a great time, but as with any trip away, it is good to be home. Christmas was a lot of fun and was filled with family. Ellie enjoyed opening presents. This is the first time that she actually opened stuff herself. She had a ball with her cousins and undeniably enjoyed giving granpapa the evil eye…LOL! Since we have gotten back, there hasn’t been a moments rest. Yesterday we ran around and I hit the Bath and Body Works super sale. I actually went into the store twice. The first time I realized that the line was about 40 people deep and said that it was too crazy even for me. Then, I talked myself into going back and now have about 2 years worth of body wash and lotion. We have also been on a mad hunt for a Wii ever since we played it in San Diego. We finally found one at Best Buy…yay!!! Thank you Mom and Dad **wink**. In addition to shop shop shopping, we have enjoyed catching up with some friends that are in town. On Thursday we went out with my BFF and her hubby. Last night we went out with one of my friends from the 4th grade!!! It was a lot of fun reminiscing about old times. She and I used to have our own magazine called “Sizzler” when we were in middle school. We would cut out pictures from other magazines and write our own articles. We would even review shows and movies. In one article, I highly recommended Mr. Belvediere. Anyone recall that show!?!?! LOL!! When we were about to leave, the incredibly cute guy that we crushed on and that played quarterback for our high school team walked by our table. It made us giggle a bit!! That’s a small town for you!! Well, I have rambled enough. I’ll leave you with the card that I made for my friend’s daughter’s birthday. Howdy folks!! Time for another SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY!! I came up with this one when Susan and Shannan were over last weekend. I had every intention of posting my sample earlier in the week and coming up with something a little more winter-y or Christmas-y, but that just didn’t happen! I hope that you are enjoying the final countdown until Christmas day. We are in sunny San Diego at Tony’s grandparents house. I even brought along some crafty goodness to share with the family. I’ll be sure to post some pics when I get back into town and am regularly posting again (soon, real soon!!).

On Christmas day I am going to have a little present for you!! BLOG TARTS!! See you then!

Each month a challenge is issued by Jami to past and present Dirty Girls. This month’s challenge was to use penguins as our main image, to use “ice” in the form of glitter, crystals, etc. and we could not use ANY blue. Yikes!! A winter card with no blue??
In addition to the 20th being the day to upload this challenge it is also “Celebrate MFT,” which is a little party to upload MFT images, especially the ones that you have just received. Well, I decided to use Winter Blast from MFT, which is not a new set, but a cute set just the same. It also fit in perfectly with the Dirty Challenge. I was able to make two cards for these occasions, both fitting into both categories. The top one utilizes the new digi paper from MFT. This card (obviously) took less time than the second one. I was in a hurry to get one done. Fortunately, I was able to stamp for a little while today and took some time to make the pink one below. I LOVE using pink for winter/holiday stuff!! The paper on this one is from a pack that I picked up at Target not too long ago.
