Bloggers Challenge #2…

Posted by Jen | challenges | Friday, March 30, 2007

So, I just came home from dinner out with a friend. In the time that we were out, it managed to rain probably 4 inches {seriously!}. We had to find an alternative {extremely flooded out} way home because the street to our neighborhood was too flooded to cross. Hello Texas spring weather!
I thought that I would post the challenge a little early, just in case there a few people just wanting to stamp tonight. Last week I chose a newer set that not everyone has. This time, I went to the SCS galleries and this set has over 4,000 pics. So, I know that a lot, if not most, of you have it. I switched up the guidelines just a bit {again}, but the point is to have fun with it. I mainly post the guidelines so that I don’t get emailed a ton a questions. Plain and simple…just have fun!

Blogger’s Challenge #2…
Use Heartfelt Thanks with any Cosmo Cricket pattern paper {you must use both}. Most scrapbook stores carry this brand, so use this challenge as an excuse to shop if you have to. *wink*

Hi there!…

Posted by Jen | cards | Friday, March 30, 2007

I have been a little MIA…again. I am working on my DD stuff. I still have a couple projects to do, but I am actually ahead of the game at this point in time…WOOHOO!! I am also working on a couple of projects to submit for publication {crossing fingers}. This of course, is all around chasing after an almost 9 month old. Anyone else have a baby that rolled everywhere? She really shows no true desire to crawl, yet, but is certainly mobile. She will pivot on her tummy and then just roll to her desired destination. It’s really quite a hoot!

Yesterday I had a great time meeting some new friends in person. You know these wonderful ladies as Emilymomto3boys, Jackie G, JJBrooks and MamaKimberly. I have a picture of all of us, but I think that I look disgusting, so I am not posting it {sorry}, but I will post a pic of the card I did for swapping with these super talented gals. AAAHHHH….it’s another baby card!! LOL!

Bridal Shower Sample…

Posted by Jen | cards, projects | Tuesday, March 27, 2007

I created this Bridal Shower sample to show to a friend of mine. There’s actually no stamping involved on this piece, but it certainly has the potential for stamping. The base of the flat card is on Basic Black and the printing was done in MS Word on Very Vanilla. I really like this design and plan to make some Baby Shower Invites and Baby Announcements using the same format/layout, but with different colors.

DON’T FORGET…The Blogger’s Challenge

Blogger’s Challenge #1 - Project #2…

Posted by Jen | challenges | Monday, March 26, 2007

Have you participated in the challenge yet? The ones that have posted are lookin’ gooood! Be sure to check it out if you haven’t. Those of you without this set, be ready for next Saturday! :) Here is my 2nd project for the challenge:

Normally, I would have just posted this in my original post, but as you may have read, time got away from me just a little bit. LOL ;) I plan on sending this card out as a RAK (bonus points for me). :)
I just now got some Gamsol and brought out the colored pencils to give it a shot. I think it turned out alright, but I certainly need some practice with this stuff. The lettering is outlined with Bashful Blue. I think I picked this technique up from admiring SweetMissDaisy (Anna Wight). It really makes the letters pop.
It’s rainy and gloomy here today. Sounds yucky, but some days I just love listening to the rain outside…like today. I am having a mini workshop this morning for a couple new friends. Well, I’m off to do some more preparation. Have a wonderful day!

Stamps: Doodle This, Sage Advice
Paper: Buckaroo Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Crayola Colored Pencils
Other: Dimensionals, Gamsol

Tony’s Day{s} Off…

Posted by Jen | i{heart}thestamper | Sunday, March 25, 2007

If you came here on a Sunday, you are probably expecting some witty verse by my dear hubby. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that it is not here. Well, he tried {and tried, and tried} to write something funny and light hearted for today and it just didn’t work out. He said that he was going to fire himself from writing on my blog. I asked that he just give himself a demotion instead. So, with that being said, he will only be writing for this site on the first Sunday of the month.
