My Favorite Things Countdown, Day 1…

Posted by Jen | projects | Monday, July 30, 2007

We are just around the corner from the FOUR new MFT releases. I have saved my personal favorite for last. This set is called It’s Elemental, although it should be called “It’s Essential” because this will be an essential part of my stamp collection from here on out. When Kim first gave me a peek at this set I jumped…seriously!!
itselementalset-1.jpg
I love everything…the ric rak {is that how you spell that!?!} that comes in 2 sizes in both solid and hollow, the photo corners…which I was an idea I forwarded on to Kim {so, how cool is that!?!?!}, the swirlies…you know they are HOT and all the other elements are just crazy perfect. I sound like I am pitching this set, but this is just how I feel about it. It’s AWESOME!! So, instead of a card or 2 or 3 to show you, I decided to use this set on a work of heart to share with you for this sneakie peekie. My daughter’s name is Ellie and she just turned one. On her first birthday she was baptized {see the pic with the white dress?} and she got to celebrate her birthday TWICE {spoiled rotten, I tell ya!}. On her birthday we were in San Diego and then we came back to Texas we had another {smaller} birthday party for her. Tony and I got her a wagon {see the other pic?} for her birthday. OMG does she love that thing. In fact she screams blue bloody murder when we take her out of it. We have to keep it outside or she would be in it 24 hours a day. At least she likes it! :)

This project was done using heavy weight coasters that are covered in MFT stamped SU! cardstock. I tried to use as many of the It’s Elemental elements as possible and I just love how this turned out. Tony even said it was “bitchin.” Obviously a good thing…especially when not preceded by “Stop…” Speaking of Tony, he’ll be blogging here on Sunday. Be sure to pop on over to say “Hi.”

Tomorrow I have a special MFT giveaway. I hope you’ll come play, because it’s only for a day :) **wink**

My Favorite Things, Countdown Day 2

Kim at MFT has solved a problem…a big one. She has come up with the essential set for all things boy!! It’s called Let’s Hear It For The Boys and it has so many great images that can be used on cards for every boy in your life. It’s going to be available on the MFT site on August 1.

Included in this set are several words/sentiments and tons of great images, including a hat, a golf club and ball on a tee, a man sitting in his recliner, a bowl of yummies, a remote, a rolled up newspaper and a mounted fish. For this sneak peek post, I have created cards using the man in recliner images, as well as a variety of the smaller images. mft_boys1.JPGmft_boys2.JPG

Taylor and I are going to be offering up something special for you on Tuesday, so stay tuned!!

My Favorite Things Countdown, Day 3…

This is HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS and it can be yours August 1st at www.mftstamps.com

It’s Christmas…in the middle of summer!!! Well, I have to admit it was a little hard to get in the Christmas spirit when the a/c is running non-stop, but HOW FLIPPIN’ CUTE ARE THESE IMAGES!?!?! I gotta tell ya, I was humming, “There’s no place like home for the holidays…” As you can tell by my samples, I was especially drawn to the Christmas tree image. Maybe it’s because the tree is one of my most favorite things about Christmas time {even though we have a fake one}.

Anywhooooo….
All of the samples that I made are 4.25″ square cards. I must admit that every year I have worldly intentions of making grand Christmas cards. Last year I bought photo cards. The year before that I made about 10 cards and then went to Target and bought the rest. So this is my year to hold true to my intentions and actually make all my cards. However, we all know that we do not want to slave over 50+ cards for it to sit on someone’s mantle for two weeks and then call the recycle bin home. So, these are 3 (so far) choices I have for my Christmas cards. Which one do you like the best?

BTW~The last card uses the dots from the Behind The Scenes set…an essential in my collection now!!!

My Favorite Things Countdown, Day 4…

Posted by Jen | cards, projects | Friday, July 27, 2007

On August 1st, My Favorite Things will be releasing 4 new sets. All of them are very different from each other and all of them are great fun to work with. The mini set that I am featuring today is called BACK TO SCHOOL, and as you may have guessed, features all school items.

I tried to create different types of samples so that you can see that this is a very versatile set. Although not shown, it would make wonderful stationary to give as a teacher gift.

The first of my samples is a card and features the famous {infamous??} headless woman, whom I colored with my very brand spankin’ new Copic marker {I need a little training still}. The chalkboard is stamped in Garden Green and the words are embossed. The apple is on a dimensional for little extra “pop.” You can click on the thumbnail to get a close up of the details.

The second project I have done using this set is a scrapbook page. As several of you already know, I do not have school age children, hence the missing picture and journaling {Use imagination here}. I, admittedly, am not a super scrapper…can you tell?? LOL! However, I would like to think this shows that this set can be used for more than just cute cards. :) Again, you can click on the thumbnail to get a detail of the border {this is really just me playing with my camera}.

Last, but not least, I have done a bag tag for a teacher. As a {former} teacher, I know firsthand that a huge bag to carry work home is pretty much a basic necessity. Why not dress it up a little? I think this would be a real cute gift and can easily be personalized on the reverse side. The tag holder is actually a badge holder purchased in the office supply section of Wal-Mart.

***Stayed tuned for more great MFT stamp set sneak peaks***

P.S.~You really want to be here on TUESDAY {the 31st!}. Hint: Taylor and I have something up our sleeves again. ;) wink wink
