2nd Post For Today…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, cards | Wednesday, March 17, 2010

This is my 2nd post for today. I have my “Beary Green” TCP Tuesday post below.

When I first started stamping I discovered Impress Rubber Stamps out of Washington. They probably came up on a Yahoo! search that I did or something like that. I fell in love with their images in an instant and I have a small collection of them in my studio. Unfortunately, they do not get the love that they so inky-ly deserve. I few weeks ago, I put a couple on my desk vowing to use them. Then, I got an email from Ann at Impress asking me to contribute a card/project to their Go Green event. You bet I hopped on it!

The idea behind this GO GREEN event is to use what may have otherwise gone in the trash on the card/project. Like Starbucks, Impress is also out of Washington so what better product to use on my project.

I took the packaging from my slice of Pumpkin loaf and cut flowers using my Slice Wedding design card. I layered them and then topped them off with a button and twine. The corrugated circles were cut from the hot drink sleeve with Nestabilities.

So how many ways can you GO GREEN? If you are in the area of any of the Impress stores {oh how I wish I was!} stop by for their GOING GREEN events at each of their locations!

Happy March! Boy, was last month fun with such a great giveaway and search for this month’s Designer of the Month. I don’t have a huge prize up for grabs this month, but from now on I will be choosing the next Designer of the Month from the participants that upload their card/creation to the SFYTT posts.

One of last month’s participants and this month’s Designer of the Month is fellow North Texan, Angie Tieman…

A little about Angie in her own words…
I’m a paper-crafting fool who loves staying up all night creating and sleeping in late in the mornings, which can be a problem when you’re also a 2nd grade teacher! When I’m not stamping, I love lazing about at home with my husband of 19 years and my precious dog Nick, cropping with my girlfriends, searching antique stores and flea markets for treasures, and working on home decorating projects.

You can visit Angie on her blog, SCHWOO.

Here’s the sketch for this week…

Verve Project Parade…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, Verve, projects | Monday, February 15, 2010

Usually I am the one that kicks off the Project Parade over on the Verve blog, but today I am actually the Diva that is wrapping it all up. It’s been a fabulous Project Parade with one breathtaking creation after another. I was so inspired by everyone’s contributions! I wish that Valentine’s Day wasn’t over so I had more time to make more pink and red sparkly projects! Oh well, on to St. Patty’s and Easter! :)

Here is my project that I did for the Parade. It’s a Stampendous Mini Pail that I picked up from Taylored Expressions. Of course, all of the stamps are from Verve Stamps. I used Heart’s Desire on this project…

More Verve To Share…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, Verve, cards | Friday, January 15, 2010

Tonight is the release for the new stamps from Verve and I have some more to share. I don’t have a lot of time to jibber-jabber, so be sure to check out all the release details on the Verve Blog and the Verve Forum on SCS.

If you will recall from my previous posts, I made an ATC using each of the sets. Some of them actually made it onto a card before Nic’s arrival. Others, did not. This first one did…

Using the set, Heart’s Desire…
