Well, I am back from CHA and getting back into the groove of things. Susan and I had a blast and we even got to meet a couple Verve peeps! Here’s us with Tosh and Laurie {2 of the coolest chickies there!}…

Fortunately, I made a card for this hop before I took off to sunny SoCal, because if I hadn’t I would have a whole lotta nothing to post today. Real life was in overdrive this week!

I’ve been working a lot with white {space} lately. So much that Tony even made a comment about it when I showed this card to him {do you gals show your cards to your hubbies, too?}. I guess when I think of making a clean and simple card, my mind associates white with that.

Although there is a lot of white space, I did manage to use 4 different Verve products. I used one of the sentiments from Celebration of Thanks, which is an essential set for any card maker. The All Aflutter die is quickly become a favorite of mine and {of course} I used the Elegant Leaves die to cut the leaves from the Bloom & Grow set {<--I'm starting to think this set should just live on my desk}.

I think this would easily be switched into a sympathy or even a birthday card. Sadly, I need another sympathy card so I will probably be doing that sooner than later.

A while ago, Laura from Lil’ Inker asked if I would be interested in doing some design work for her company that she had just started. Her stuff is way cute and she’s a doll, so I jumped on the opportunity. I have loved seeing her company grow and I must admit that it’s pretty cool to be a part of it, too! Again, last month LID came out some great stuff including some new Valentine’s sweets! I am such a sucker for heart dies, so you can imagine how my own heart went a flutter when this stitched die set came to me {swoon}…

This card was not a CAS from the start, but then when I set some of the pieces aside I saw something that I liked and I went with it. It reminds me of the first card that I ever had published. I’ll be using this die set a lot, and I definitely have something more elaborate up my sleeve, so stay tuned.

Yesterday and today, the design team has been featuring the new 2 Cute Ink sets that are now available in the Lil’ Inker store. Thank you for all your sweet comments yesterday about my coloring on the kitty. Would you believe that I started out trying to make him {her?} look dirty white? Seriously, I did. I guess that fail turned into something better, though!

As for today, I get to show you my SWEET BEE card…

As you can see, this is a super simple layout, so I put aside the pattern papers and went with white on white {papers}. I really wanted the larger image to pop and basically be {bee?} THE card.

Happy Monday stamping friends!! I’m hoping that this week is far better than last week. Nic seems to be doing very well after the pneumonia bug that visited our home last week. Thanks for all the well wishes; they were very appreciated. Lack of sleep and a lil’ man hacking in my face all last week left me with a case of the sniffles. Hopefully Zicam really does what it says it does…Tony swears by it, so I am giving it a shot this time around.

Today, we are featuring the new Flags and Tags stamps and dies. I knew exactly what I wanted to do…giftie notecards…

I love the way the Authenique paper complements this set perfectly {in my opinion, at least!} I embellished the label and sentiment panels with a felt flower topped with a flower center from Prima {thanks, Susan!}. I can definitely see myself making some more of these as teacher and hostess gifties! As I have mentioned before, I am not one for mass production, but these were fun, easy and I think they make a great {classy} statement!
