MFT Blog Hop and Shop…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards, product finds | Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Welcome to the My Favorite Things July Release Blog Hop and Shop! I hope you had fun at the Release Party. My in-laws are in town for Ellie’s birthday {Thursday}, so my appearance was very brief.
If you happened upon my blog randomly, you will want to go back to the beginning of the hop at Kim’s blog. You should have come here via Sherrie’s blog and when you hop on from here, you will be off to Lisa’s blog {I’ll be linking her later in the post, too}.

What has been your favorite so far? Do you love the new Die-Namics? The new Pure Innocences? All the other stamps? It’s hard to choose just one, I suppose!

My card features the new PI set, Tea Party, as well as the new Banner Day Alpha and Banner Day Die-Namic {and Fresh Cut Grass Die-Namic} …

I paper pieced the tablecloth and the Nesties Large Scallop Rectangle panel with October Afternoon paper. This set is perfect for paper piecing! I didn’t use the lil’ PI girl on this card, but you could play matchy-matchy with paper piecing her dress, too.

I did an inside AGAIN!…

Before you leave here and hop on over to LISA’S BLOG for more MFT goodness, but sure to leave a comment. A random commenter along the blog hop will be chosen for a sweet MFT Gift Certificate! Good luck, happy hopping and have fun shopping!!

Copic Storage…

Posted by Jen | product finds | Friday, May 14, 2010

Wow, 5 posts this week! This used to be my “norm,” now I have to say that I am impressed with myself! LOL! I am glad to be back in a little bit of a groove. I won’t be posting this much all the time, but hopefully it is the beginning of getting back into it.

I don’t have a project to show you today, but rather a cool product. Tami, of Studio 3 Solutions, introduced me to these AWESOME cubbies. I had my Copics in another container, but quickly switched them to these space saving cubbies.

This is the pic from their site of a single cubbie…

Here are 3 {of my 4} set up on my craft desk. I love that they don’t take up a whole lot of room!…

I wanted to show you how a couple of these are shipped, too. The box was actually damaged by UPS, but my cubbies were safe inside. I have had a few orders, from other companies, that have not arrived so soundly so I thought that this was important to share…

Here is more about the Color Cubbies from the Studio 3 Solutions site

Each Color Cubbie holds 120 Copic sketch syle markers with 24 markers on each shelf. The shelves of the Color Cubbie are angled so you can easily see the name of each marker (Copic Sketch style) and the angled shelves allow you to pull a marker out from anywhere on the shelf without the other markers falling out.
The Color Cubbie measures 4 5/16″ W x 14″ H x 5 1/2″ D and comes in white. The interior, exterior and the shelves of the Cubbie are made of 1/4″ wood that is coated with a durable vinyl finish. The face of the Cubbie and shelves are painted with a vinyl based enamel paint. The Cubbies can easily be dusted or wiped clean with a dry or damp cloth.
The Color Cubbie will also accommodate a variety of other coloring mediums, such as Copic Ciao Markers, Stampin’ Up! markers, Prismacolor Pencils, gel pens, etc.

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop…

Did you gobble ’til you wobbled? How many naps snuck in there after devouring your turkey feast? Well, I hope you had a good one! Since I am pre-posting this, I can’t tell ya how everything went on Turkey day yet. I hope to have stories and pics to share soon!

So, maybe you gobbled, then you wobbled, but now you are HOPPING! Yep, you are right smack in the middle of the Taylored Expressions Black Friday Blog Hop, so if you happened upon here on accident, you might just want to rewind and start at the beginning {there’s a full list of participants below}.

Taylor has challenged all of us to embellish the Perfect Pacakage box {which also comes in a square shape!}. So I opened it up {folds completely flat} and stared at it. Hmmm…what do I want to do with this? Yes, it fit standard cards perfectly. Hence the name, Perfect Package. However, I wasn’t putting cards in there. I ended up putting a scarf that I am giving to my secret sister in there, so I wanted to give it more of a gift box/wrapped feel and this is what I came up with…

I don’t know that this is my “traditional” style, but I gotta say that I am pretty darn happy the way that it came out! The green numbered paper is from Making Memories and the numbered note card is from October Afternoon. I added a Nestabilities die cut scalloped circle to be the base of the “4u,” which was cut from the Think Pink Slice design card. I LOVE the new design cards that have the matting/shadow feature.

So what are your shopping plans? Mine?…none! Well, at least I am not going out anywhere, but that’s not to say that I’m not making Tony brave the crowds. He’s 6′7″ and people generally don’t push him around. You would think that people would get out of the way for a beached whale…giant pregnant lady, like myself, but NOPE! Between all the hormones and general uncomfortableness, I am likely to say something that’s not so nice should someone cross my path! LOL!

If your plans include online shopping, don’t forget to check out the BLACK FRIDAY DEALS at TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS!!…
–> 15% off everything in the store {use code TEBlackFriday at checkout}
–> up to 50% on JustRite products
–> Buy 2, get 1 free Taylor’s Tiny Twinkles
–> Don’t forget to check out the new shirts and aprons, too {so cute!!!!…and if I wasn’t the size of a beached whale, I would totally be checking out with one of the brown sleeved shirts!!}

Here’s the hop list. Have fun hopping along to JEN TAPLER’S BLOG! See you tomorrow for another SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY {this one will get ya thinking, too!!}

Taylored Expressions Release Day…

Posted by Jen | Taylored Expressions/Whimsical Wishes, product finds, projects | Wednesday, August 5, 2009

It’s here…release day for the new Taylored Expressions stamp sets. The two sets that are being released are Chillax, which was featured yesterday, and Berries and Cherries. The DT featured Berries and Cherries on Monday and I have another sample of that set today. This project is made from a Perfect Package Card Box. Don’t be fooled by the name, though, you can stuff it with much more than cards. Taylor put chocolates in her Card Box HERE.

What did I put in this box? Well, nothing yet…EEEK! I decided to take apart my stamp room. Of course, I had to put it back together and that kinda cut into the time I needed to seek out some of the goodies I needed. So, what do I want to put in here?….

Dark Pink and Red Cocktail Napkins
Tube of Pink Sugar to Rim a Margarita Glass
Plastic Ice Cubes in the Shape of Strawberries or in Dark Pink and Red Colors

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Taylored Expressions‘ DT has for you peek at, too…

Cootie Catcher…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, The Cat's Pajamas, product finds | Friday, July 3, 2009

I saw this idea a few years back on Martha Stewart and have created a few different ones that have had various themes. Lots of fun to make…be ready to time travel to your youth while creating these! When viewing this pic, just pretend that there are nuts inside the little compartments…

I used the new stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas, Happy Camper and paired it with Mr. Campy paper from Cosmo Cricket. This project is fun to customize to any theme. They make great table toppers for baby and bridal showers. I think when I saw them on the Martha site that she had put sprinkles and such in them for an ice cream sundae party…cute, right!?!
