Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge…

Kraftin’ Kimmie is GOING GREEN! Well, for this challenge at least. This week’s challenge on on the KK Challenge Blog is to use something recycled on your card or project.

I received some happy mail this week and I used part of the box that was headed to the trash {recycle bin} for the die cut 5 petal flowers {MFT dies}…

kk_rose

The center die cut flower is topped with a rolled rose to match the {new} image, Rose

kk_rose_detail

As for the bling…Yep, you guessed it…more of the Recollections line of rhinestones from Michaels. As you can see, I matted them with the same paper that the rolled rose is created with to bring the look together. That, and just can’t seem to just put a rhinestone on without a mat lately.

Have an idea about how you want to incorporate “being green” into your card/project? All challenge details and upload information can be found on the Kraftin’ Kimmie challenge blog. Happy stamping and good luck!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I am teaching 2 Copic classes today at my local store, Scrapper’s Boutique.

YNS Fun Friday…

**Looking for my Lil’ Inker post? Scroll down, please**

It’s beginning to look a lot like…not Christmas! Maybe Christmas in Hawaii where the sun shines and the birds sing all year round. It’s looking a little Christmas-y in the craft area, though. I’m having fun playing around with the Your Next Stamp set, Jolly Good Santa

As for my fun tip for today, I want to focus in on the fluffy part of his Santa suit…

To get the fluff with a little sparkle underneath, all you need is {what I consider} must-haves in your craft arsenal: White Flower Soft and any clear Stickles {Diamond, Crystal, etc}. White is the only color of Flower Soft that I own and I use it quite a bit with for snow or fluffy outfits {like on Santa}. Obviously, it can be used for more, but that’s about my extent of bringing it out of the box. I don’t just adhere it with regular glue; I adhere it with my clear Stickles. It gives a little added bling without the sparkly taking over. Sweet and simple!

Hope you have a great weekend!

While browsing Pinterest, I found a darling paper pouch created by Angie Juda at My Chic ‘n Scratch and knew that it would pair well with the bunny images from this Lil’ Inker set! I followed the video tutorial found HERE and this is what I came up with {made from Echo Park paper}…

Birthday Wishes for You…

Spring has sprung! Wild weather followed by beautiful sunshine has come to North Texas. The landscaping in the back already looks better. I can’t wait to share some pics once it’s in full bloom! Today, I’m looking forward to enjoying a beautiful day with Nicolas. He loves going on “acorn hunts” and it’s such a good way to get a little fresh air and wear him out at the same time! Moms of boys…you know how important that is! Ellie is the most calm and patient kiddo. Nicolas…not so much. It’s a boy thing, I guess {or so I’ve been told}. He sure does keep me on my toes, though!

As for the crafty happenings at the del Muro house, I was able to do a little creating yesterday. I felt my mojo was a little low, but I did manage to crank out a few projects. This card was made for fellow Verve Diva, Laurie’s, daughter…

I’m loving the Loopy Blooms die set {currently on sale}! I paired it with a sentiment from the Making a Statement stamp set {currently on sale!} and the Curvy Bookplate die. Did you notice the bling? {Again}, it’s from the new Recollections line at Michaels. Can you tell the rhinestons come to a point on the top? I’ve loved that since Doodlebug did that a while back. Call me crazy, but I swear it makes a difference!

ETA: I used My Mind’s Eye pattern paper ~ Miss Caroline collection

Well, gotta run! Off to “hunt” some acorns.

TCP Tuesday #202…

It’s raining, it’s pouring…
All weekend the weather guys said that we were in for in come Monday afternoon. Why must they be all doom and gloom and scare the bejeezus outta me? Yes, it rained. Yes, there was lightening…and thunder. That was it. Whoop-de-freakin’-do! I’m happy for the rain, though. We landscaped our backyard last year and it’s just starting to bud again. With a little sunshine later this week, I am crossing my fingers for some day lily blooms soon!

Julie, this week’s TCP Tuesday Hipster Hostess with the Mostess, has spring on the brain, too! She’s issued the challenge to “use grass with class.” There are several TCP images that have grass in them. Of course, there is also the Grass CutUps die which I used on my card…

I paired the Grass CutUps with The Cat’s Pajamas‘ set, Catch My Drift. You can’t have this cutie {with My Mind’s Eye paper pieced balloons} floating by without a few clouds {from the Clouds Border CutUps}. As I mentioned on my Saturday post, I am diggin’ the new bling from the Recollections line at Michaels. I used 3 green rhinestones on the side of the main image panel and matted them with white cardstock…lovin’ the look of the white mat on the white panel! Gonna tuck that away to use again {and probably AGAIN} later.

Want to play along with this challenge and have a chance to be the next Swanky Stamper? All the details, as well as the the upload/link info can be found on Alma’s blog. Happy stamping and good luck!
