1. Each a week one of The Cat’s Pajamas DT members will host a challenge {hey that’s me!}.
2. The challenges will vary {stamp, techinque, color, theme, sketch, etc.}
3. You will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge.
4. Post your design to the guestbook on Alma’s blog.
5. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp}
6. There will be one winner each month. They will be deemed that month’s Swankiest Stamper and get $25 in Cat’s Cash {money to spend on the TCP site!}.
7. Only designs posted to the guestbook will be considered for the Swanky Stamper.
8. The newly crowned Swanky Stamper will be announced on the First of the Month and have his/her winning entry posted on The Cat’s Pajamas website where he/she will reign for the entire month.

Sketch For You To Try…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, December 12, 2009

Ever hear the phrase, “Kids say the darnest things!”? I swear I am living that here at my house. You might recall this story of Ellie telling me that princesses don’t wear pants. Since then it has been brought up just about every day. I finally convinced her to wear “princess pants” which are leggings with lace at the bottom. For now that seems to be working. No one better ruin that for me! LOL! So the other day she is asking, “How do you spell CAT,” “How do you spell DOG,” and then she comes up with… “How do you spell PRINCESS….WITH NO PANTS!” Seriously people, I cannot make this stuff up. It’s just “Classic Ellie” {check out the SNL sketch with Justin Timberlake HERE to understand what I mean by that}.

Now that you have gotten your daily {ok, maybe not so daily lately} dose of Ellie-isms, it’s time to get the the sketch. I think it’s a pretty easy one and I hope that you will have fun with it!…

Here’s my version using newbie My Favorite Things stamps. I absolutely ADORE the Pure Innocence line of stamps! This is my first time playing with them and I am pretty sure that they will become a staple stamp purchase for months {years?} to come…

Your Next Stamp Blog Hop…

Posted by Jen | Your Next Stamp, cards, challenges, projects | Wednesday, December 9, 2009

If I haven’t mentioned it before {and I have}, I am lovin’ the stamps from Your Next Stamp, especially the Fhiona line. I am also in the midst of needing a 12 step group for blog hopping. I think this is the last one that I have in the line up for a while, but you never know what might come up!!

So, it’s a hop. Meaning that you should have started on the YNS Blog, come here from Maylee’s blog and then when you are done here, you’ll be hoppin’ on over to Simmone’s blog.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I got this set! Susan’s daughter is a lil’ gymnast and I thought that it would be fun to make a flat card with hair bow attached. As for additional ideas, I think these would be a super cute addition to anyone’s craft show table or a fun stocking stuffer.

Here’s the {flat} card without the bow…

And, with the bow {I found several video tutorials on YouTube}…

Now you’re off to Simmone’s blog to keep on hoppin’! Have fun enjoying all the creations along the way!

Baby, It’s Cold Outside!…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Well, the sun is finally shining here for the first time in a few days but there is still a chill in the air. I think I *may* have mentioned that I am NOT a fan of cold weather. I would wear flip flops every day of the year if given the opportunity! I don’t think that there is any snow in the immediate forecast, so I am thankful for that. I think Ellie would say the contrary. One day last week it was snowing when we woke up and I promised Ellie that she could play in the snow after school. Little did I know that all the snow would be gone when I picked her up. Talk about one mad kiddo! Fortunately, I am not above bribery and coaxed a smile from her by getting her something at Hobby Lobby. I lost my “Mom of the Year” award long ago, so I didn’t think that this would be a huge mark against me! LOL!

Anyways…it’s Tuesday and that means a new TCP Tuesday challenge. This week Susan is your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess and she is challenging you to “Think Snow!”…or make a winter-y card/project. Be sure to check out her post HERE for all the deets that you need to know for a chance to win some Cat Cash. Here’s my card…

Still seeking a 12-step group for Blog Hop Addicts. Somehow, I {very willingly} have ended up participating in several blog hops over the past few weeks or so, and today is yet another hop. This one is very special…it’s a birthday hop for Stamping Bella. Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday sweet Bella, Happy Birthday To You!!

So, if you are hopping you should have started HERE on the Bella blog, came to my blog from Sheena’s blog HERE and when you are all done on my blog, you can hop on over to Meahni’s blog HERE.

Since it’s Saturday, it’s also time for another SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY {scroll down to be introduced to the new Designer of the Month}. Here’s the sketch…

Since this is a hop in addition to the SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY post, I am doing this a little backwards. It’s the first Saturday of the month, which means I have a new Designer of the Month to introduce to you. I usually do that at the top of my post, but here it is kinda in the middle. Please Welcome KIM MORENO…

headshots

Here’s a little about Kim in her own words…
Hi my name is Kim Moreno and I am excited to be the guest designer!
I am a stay at home mom to 5 sweet kids…. ranging in age from 7.5 yr old twins to a 14 yr old. I stay busy just keeping them in order and all that they do but in my spare time I love to craft! I enjoy knowing that I am capturing everyday moments in my kids lives that we can all look back on and remember as they grow older.
I have been scrapbooking for over 8 years now and have been fortunate to have my designs published in most major craft magazines including BHG, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, Cards, SCT, Papercrafts and more! I currently design for Jillibean Soup, Dream Street Papers, Core’dinations, Glitz, Noel Mignon kits, and the CPS sketch site.
Thank you once again Jen for having me this month… I LOVE your sketches!!
Visit my blog: www.livingthecircuslife.blogspot.com, I’d love to see new faces stop by! :)
