A Trio Here, A Trio There…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, challenges | Tuesday, June 24, 2008

One person, blogging in two places! That’s me!! Of course I am here, but I am also over at the JustRite Stampers blog all this week. Here’s a little sneaky peeky of the trio that’s happening over there today…

day2_teaser.jpg

This TCP Tuesday was a bit easier for me than the last LOL {Love You Carole!}. The fantabulous Leigh O’Brien has issued a color challenge to everyone. These colors are so yummy together, don’t ya think?…

Here’s my sample. The stamps are, of course, The Cat’s Pajamas. They are paired up with some delicious red Prism cardstock, and Olive Old and Soft Sky from SU!. For the finishing touches, I used more DOTS from Bella {can you tell I kinda like these lil’ guys!?!}, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and a Prima flower {which I have been grabbing for A LOT lately!!}.

More pics are in Friday’s post HERE.
Here is the template. Just as a friendly reminder, this is for personal use, not personal gain ONLY. Thank you!!

A Little Secret That I Have Been Keeping…

Posted by Jen | random ramblings | Sunday, June 22, 2008

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Denise Bryant asking if I would be interested in creating some projects with their JustRite Stampers products (ya know, those cool monogram stamps!) and blogging for them. Without hesitation, I said YES. So, this week I will be blogging here with my everyday stuff AND on the JustRite Stampers blog with some fun projects using their stamps. Denise has provided me with little snippet pics to show you here daily, but all the full projects will be there this Monday through Friday.

I love keeping secrets. I even have another one! We’ll talk about that one in about a week. :)

Sketch For You To Try Saturday…

Posted by Jen | Bella, cards, challenges | Saturday, June 21, 2008

Hello there! I’m sitting here writing this as Ellie is hinting that she would like a “Mickey DohDoh.” What is that you ask? Our donut store has 3 donut holes stuck together that apparently appear to be the head of Mickey to {almost} 2 year olds. She’s just gonna have to twist my arm to get me to go!! Better make this quick, because she’s already putting on her shoes. LOL!!

I’ve been quite forgetful lately. Last week I forget to put the keyword on the SFYTT, as well as link my buds. Yesterday I forgot to say that I made that project for Celebrating MFT Day, which is the 20th of EVERY month. How did I forget that?? Yesterday, I also forgot to link Bella for those cute lil’ dots that I used…loveeee those!! So today, I am crossing my fingers that I don’t forget to say or link anything. If I do, just roll your eyes at me!

I hope that you will play along with us! Who’s “us?”…Amy, Carole {who’s in Vegas, Baby!}, Shannan and Susan. If you upload to SCS, don’t forget to use the keyword SFYTT. Also, link your project to this post so we are not to miss any! Ok, here’s the sketch…

My sample using Stamping Bella stamps, and DA DOTS!!! I really want those in EVERY color! The purple panel is PTI’s new Plum pudding cardstock stamped with CHF’s Reverse Dots Backgrounder.

Here’s Dawn Easton’s DAAAAHHHHLING card using the sketch. Send her some love; she told me that her wisdom teeth were hurting her. OUCHIE!!!

MFT, ABC, a YAY And a BOO!…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, MFT, cards, projects | Friday, June 20, 2008

Although I think that the ATC I made for last week’s ABC Friday is pretty, I think it was kind of a jip for ABC Friday. So, I am here today to make it up to you! I was up LATE last night. Early compared to my college days, but late for the present day! LOL!

***I will have more info about a template on Monday***

Before I get onto the project, I want to share my YAY and BOO. First, my YAY. I was talking to my bud, Shannan, this morning and she told me to be sure to go check out the demo challenge on SCS. What do ya know!?!?…It’s my pizza box!! You might just be seeing some more of these from me…in print! ;)

Now, for my BOO! I got a pair of really cute MaryJane style Crocs this spring. About a month + ago they just broke. I called customer service and told them my issue. They told me that unless I had a receipt dated within the last 90 days, which must also prove that the retailer is an authorized distributor, I was out of luck. You can tell that these shoes hardly have any wear and tear. For a pair of shoes that cost $70, I thought that a company might stand behind their brand a little better!! I know that my little rant isn’t going to put them out of business, nor is that my intent. However, I just want you to be aware that if you fork over the cash, don’t expect them to stand behind their product. BTW-I had purchased them within 90 of them breaking and they were purchased from an authorized retailer. After wearing them a few times, I thought is was safe to toss the receipt. I am seeking alternative methods of getting them fixed/replaced. I guess I have just had such wonderful service with all products/services that I thought that was the norm…apparently not CROCS!!

…Hopping off my little anti-Croc soapbox…

Here’s the project for ABC Friday! It’s a tri-fold notecard, card and envie holder that ties together. The criss-cross holders were, of course, inspired by Michelle Wooderson. HERE is a tutorial on the cards that I am referring to. This particular tri-fold holds a notecard, three 3×3 cards and 3 matching envies.

I know that there are ton pictures. I am a visual person and I like to see all angles, so that is what I am displaying here. After editing this many pics, I thought it might be overkill. Then I thought that too much of a good thing…is a good thing. Right ;) Speaking of good things. The DP used on this project is American Crafts and the stamps are from My Favorite Things.
