Your Next Stamps | Sneak Peeks…

Posted by Jen | Your Next Stamp, cards, just because | Sunday, April 8, 2012

Did you all have a wonderful Easter weekend? We sure did! We went to visit some friends in Oklahoma overnight and had a great time. Thankfully, the kiddos were great in the car and there weren’t too many “Are we there yet?” comments being hollered from the backseat. I passed on the built in entertainment system when I got my car, but I sure was thankful for the portable devices that captured the attention when needed!

While I didn’t get any stamping done over the weekend, I did get a few pages filled up in my sketch book. I will certainly have lots to share in upcoming weeks and months ahead. While I didn’t dig deep into the crafty supplies over the weekend, I did get a lot done last week, including creating with some new images from YOUR NEXT STAMP!

My lil’ Ellie is too little to like a latte, but this lil’ Ellie sure isn’t…

sweet-hello

Lots and lots of layers going on her with pattern paper from Echo Park {Yours Truly}…

I added a bit of {Recollections} bling to the bottom of the rectangle panel, as well as giving her boots a little something with Diamond Stickles and white Flower Soft…

Ellie Loves Lattes is just one of two Ellie sets being released on Wednesday, along with some more cute sets and matching dies. Be sure to check out all the details and more sneak peeks on the YNS BLOG.

YNS Fun Friday | Fun With Dies…

TGIF Friends! Is everyone ready for a good weekend? I am! Lots of Easter Egg Hunts going on this weekend! Are you going to one?

We are definitely in the mood for spring and Easter around here. I made some cute Easter projects that I will share next week and I think the flowers that I made on the card below might have to find their way onto a few more projects, too!

I used the WINGS from the Dress Up Fhiona Die Set from YOUR NEXT STAMP to create this flower on the card…

wingflowercard

To create this flower you will:

12-14 die cut wings {cardstock or felt work great!}
1 one inch cardstock circle
Adhesive {hot glue is what I used}
Your choice of flower center {Button and twine matted with a cardstock circle is what I used}

Directions:
1. Cut the die cut wings in half
2. Adhere 6-7 of the halves around the edge one side of the 1″ circle
3. Adhere 4-7 of the halves around the center of the other side of the circle
NOTE: Adhering part of the around the edge and part of them around the center creates more of a layered look.
4. Create and adhere your flower center
5. Attach to card. OR, put a pin-back on it and use it as a fun accessory!

I “fluffed up” my petal by curling/bending each of the petals until I got the look that I wanted. I always get asked, so I can’t forget to mention the embossing folder…it’s a Christmas set from Sizzix! My fave…at the moment!

Have fun with this creating your own flowers and have a great weekend! I’ll be back tomorrow with one more SFYTT post for March…don’t miss it!

YNS Fun Friday…

**Looking for my Lil’ Inker post? Scroll down, please**

It’s beginning to look a lot like…not Christmas! Maybe Christmas in Hawaii where the sun shines and the birds sing all year round. It’s looking a little Christmas-y in the craft area, though. I’m having fun playing around with the Your Next Stamp set, Jolly Good Santa

jenff1

As for my fun tip for today, I want to focus in on the fluffy part of his Santa suit…

jenff1_detail

To get the fluff with a little sparkle underneath, all you need is {what I consider} must-haves in your craft arsenal: White Flower Soft and any clear Stickles {Diamond, Crystal, etc}. White is the only color of Flower Soft that I own and I use it quite a bit with for snow or fluffy outfits {like on Santa}. Obviously, it can be used for more, but that’s about my extent of bringing it out of the box. I don’t just adhere it with regular glue; I adhere it with my clear Stickles. It gives a little added bling without the sparkly taking over. Sweet and simple!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Your Next Stamp New Release Day HOP…

Posted by Jen | Ellie, Your Next Stamp, blog hopping, projects | Sunday, March 11, 2012

Springing forward and new YOUR NEXT STAMP stamps all in one day…oh my!

As the title of this post notes, it’s a HOP! I’m your second stop along the way, so if you happened upon here randomly you haven’t missed much yet. Just take a u-turn and head over to the start of the hop at Maureen’s blog.

My lil’ Ellie has now lost 2 teeth and there is one that has been threatening to come out since Christmas. When the first one came flying out, I mentioned to Karen that her Ellie {the stamp} would look pretty cute waiting for the tooth fairy. Isn’t she cute?…

TGIF Friends! It’s the beginning of Spring Break this afternoon and I have some fun stuff planned for the weekend and some good things in the works for next week! One of the cool things coming up in the stampy world is the new release from Your Next Stamp! For the next couple of days the design team will be giving you a few sneak peeks at the new stamps and dies coming to the YNS store on Sunday, March 11.

Fhiona is playing dress up in one of the new releases {Cute with Wings} and there is a whole set of dies to match {YAY…no fussy cutting!}…

beecard

I just realized that I forgot to add the die cut antennae to this cutie patootie. Hmmm…I wonder what I did with those!?! While I take a moment to figure that out, here’s a detail shot…

bee_detail

Antennae or no antennae, she still is pretty darn cute, right? I love that there is a die set that cuts out the body and accents!

Of course, I had to go with a yellow and black color scheme! I thought of doing a rainbow bug or possibly black and pink, but in the end I had to keep in black and yellow…HELLO {are you a Bee Movie fan, too?}.

There’s more cuteness from this release to take a peek at. You can find a list of peekers, as well as release details on the YNS BLOG. Happy peeking!
