Absolutely No Peeking…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, The Cat's Pajamas, cards | Saturday, November 26, 2011

So what did you do when your parents said, “Absolutely No Peeking!” when you were a kid? Did you obey? Or, did those words burn a hole through you so that you were bound and determined to find out what exactly is was they were hiding? I’m going to go ahead and plead the 5th here, but as I parent I am already thinking of ways and places to hide Christmas gifts!

As for another kind of peeking, today The Cat’s Pajamas is giving you a sneak peek at the new set PEEKING that will be released on Tuesday…

This is my favorite card that I have done so far for this release. I had a lot of fun making it and I love the papers…and of course, the image! Hopefully I won’t find it tagged on Pinterest with “Hate the card. Love the layout” like I did on another card the other day. LOL! No, I’m not mad about that, but I definitely wasn’t expecting that comment attached to that card! Seriously, I’ve made some U-G-L-Y cards that people could trash talk for days about! I guess I just need to expect anything on that platform, right?

Anywhoooo, back to this card that I like so much! Here’s a detail shot of the image. I topped off the paper pieced box with a snowflake from the Snowflake Lace Paper CutUps die along with a rhinestone for a little bling bling…

Best Fishes for a Wonderful Holiday…

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!

Sneaky Peek week continues here for The Cat’s Pajamas as we countdown until next Tuesday’s new release. Today’s feature is BEST FISHES, with that beloved penguin…

This image was a lot of fun to both color and paper piece…

Detail shot of my homemade embellishment…

To create the embellishment, I punched a star and then embossed it. I then layered it with a punched out circle and a snowflake from the new SNOWFLAKE LACE PAPER DIE. Finally, I topped it off with a rhinestone and viola…easy peasy homemade embellishment!

I’m keeping this short and sweet, as I have a Thanksgiving dinner to cook. That will be done right after I take a shower to rinse the remainder of the throw up from my hair. Poor lil’ Nicolas doesn’t feel so very good. He has an ear infection. Thank goodness we didn’t catch that plane to Phoenix yesterday! I hope you all have a wonderful Turkey Day! And, don’t forget about the TCP Black Friday Special…

Your Next Stamp Challenge #56…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, Your Next Stamp, cards, challenges | Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Stampy Friends! Are you ready for some family, friends, turkey and pie tomorrow? We were planning on going to Phoenix this year, but a series of events including jammed flights and Nicolas running a fever {again!} has landed us at home this year {again!}. I’ll be attempting my first ham and I think that I have all the fixins’ ready to go. Cross your fingers for me!

Anyone brave enough to go Black Friday shopping? I always send Tony out with a list after perusing the ads. I have to say that I LOVE looking through the Black Friday ads! It’s my own personal form of window shopping, I guess. I’ve had it up to my eyebrows with incompetent customer service people this week, so I think that it might be best {and I mean for them} if I don’t take on the busiest shopping day of the year…LOL!

Maybe while he’s out shopping I’ll get a little stamping done…assuming that I’m awake by then! If he doesn’t wake me, I’m sure one of the kids’ internal alarm clock, which is set for a RIDICULOUS hour, will! Something tells me there are a few of you out there that can relate! ;)

As for the stamping that I’ve already done…

lightmeup

This is the card that I have made for the YOUR NEXT STAMP Challenge #56~use die cuts on your card/project! Here’s a detail shot of the LIGHT UP THE HOLIDAYS die from YNS…

Detail of the LIGHT ME UP image, also from YNS…

lightmeup_detail

I used white Flower Soft on his hat for some added texture. TIP: When adding Flower Soft or even flocking to a project, use a clear color of Stickles {Stardust, Crystal or Diamond} for a little bling, too!

I know that you have some die cuts that you can use to play along with this challenge and have a chance at a great YNS prize! Be sure to check out all the challenge details on the YNS blog HERE. Happy stamping and good luck!!

Jingle, Jingle, Jingle…

Happy week until Turkey Day, friends! Today we are having a Thanksgiving feast with Nic at his “school.” I’m definitely looking forward to digging into some turkey and stuffing. As for the mashed potatoes from a box…not so much. I’m more of the real potato, real butter and real cream kind of mashed potato kind of girl…LOL! Either way, it will be fun to join Nic for his feast…no matter what is served.

This week’s TCP Tuesday challenge is brought to you from Hipster Hostess, Leigh. She has this fun sketch for you to play with…

sketchtcp

Here’s what I came up with using JINGLE BELLS from The Cat’s Pajamas

sketchcard

I love this image that’s part of the ouou illustration line at TCP!! I’ve found myself neglecting this line, so I’ve been trying to reach for them a little more lately. However, I won’t be playing with them next week since new product sneak peeks start on Tuesday {yippeeee!}.

Detail shot…

One more…

sketchcard_sentiment

Cute lil’ snowflake, right? More on that later {like Tuesday-ish!} ;) As for the heart, it’s from the Heart Trio CutUps die from TCP.

Love the sketch and want to play along? All of the details, along with the uploading link can be found HERE on Alma’s blog. Happy stamping and good luck!!

TCP Tuesday Challenge…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Saturday, November 12, 2011

Susan is declaring a FOOD FIGHT for this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge! What in the world does that mean? When picking out your TCP stamps {and/or dies!} to work with this week, you need to be grabbing for ones involving FOOD. I actually went the route of drink with the idea that there might just be soup in his mug. Someone {removing names here…LOL!} piped in and said that sometimes she drinks her dinner, so this image definitely counts…

warmmyheart

The image and sentiment are from the Like You a Latte set from The Cat’s Pajamas. I added the Snowflake CutUps die embellished with Olive Seam Binding Ribbon, a button and Brown Sugar Baker’s Twine.

I am a huge fan of Echo Park papers and I just love the new Christmas lines, especially the Season’s Greetings 6×6 pad. The circle panel is cut from the snowflake pattern and then I embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder. I’m not sure if you can tell by the pics, but the cuffs of the boys jacket are flocked with white flocking powder…

Want to play along with this challenge? All of the challenge details, as well as the where you upload your creation can be found HERE on Alma’s/The TCP blog. Happy stamping and good luck!
