MFT a´ la modes Blog Hop

Posted by Jen | MFT, blog hopping, cards | Wednesday, July 14, 2010

a´ la modes is the newest line in an ever growing line of wonderful MY FAVORITE THINGS stamps. Tonight we are having a blog hop to celebrate the release of these great new designs from artist, Amanda Baird. I did mention that it’s a blog hop, so here’s the where and who run down before I get started on my creation…

The blog hop starts HERE on the MFT/Kim’s blog
If you have already been hopping along, then you will have arrived here from Kerry’s blog, and
when you leave here, you will hop on over to Susan’s blog {I’ll be linking her later, too}.

For my card, I am featuring the a´la modes Birthday Girl set

alamodecard

I love the exaggerated size of the objects that she is holding in this line. It’s so fun…and a lot easier to color! Here’s a detail shot of my main image panel…

alamodecard_detail1

Again, I am giving doing the insides a shot. I really like this one with the rhinestones accenting the inside sentiment. Do you see that I used one of the new Die-namics, Framed Greetings, for the sentiment panel, too..
alamodecard_inside

If you haven’t already read, these stamps are a little different than what you are used to from MFT. What you’ll want to know about these stamps…

* a la modes will be available only in rubber
* Each set is produced in the USA using the higest quality rubber, with the deepest etch possible.
* Each image and sentiment is backed on cling foam and scroll cut, making it ready for stamping right out of the bag!
* Packaged in a clear hang bag, we’ve also provided the ideal storage solution by including a thick laminated header card in each set that can be used to store the stamp set, in its entirety after purchase.
* $10.95 for the 3 x 4″ set.

Ok, now you are all ready to hop on over to Ms. SusSus‘ {as my sweet Ellie refers to her} blog for more a´ la mode greatness!

Ahoy There…

It’s SNEAKY PEEK WEEK at THE CAT’S PAJAMAS!

sneaky_peek_week

Be sure to check out the TCP/Alma’s blog for a complete list of where to find all the sneak peeks! In addition to it being the sneak peek day for WHALE OF A TIME, it’s also TCP TUESDAY and Hipster Hostess with the Mostess, AMY {click on her name to get all the deets on how to win Cat Cash for playing along!}, has issued a TWINE CHALLENGE!! In case you haven’t seen yet, TCP is now offering DIVINE TWINE is a slew of colors from which to choose. Here’s what I came up with…

tcptues118shadowbox

This is a shadowbox from IKEA that I made into a sweet baby{ish} gifty. The navy is felt {hint hint of what’s to come at TCP} and the waves were created from something else special coming your way from TCP!! Each of the waves is embossed with an embossing folder do give it a little bit more dimension. I created the life preserver from Nestabilities and then attached my DIVINE TWINE to make it part of it. The twine is also on top of the ribbon that goes all the way around the box.

Although I love the idea of creating more of these shadowboxes, I got a taste of how hard they are to photograph! Here are a few more photos of the project {the 20+ I had to take!}…

Here’s another peek at this oh-so-fun-to-paper-piece whale on a simple, but fun, card I created…

Just leave a comment of the sneak peekers each day {full list HERE} and one lucky ducky commenter will win all EIGHT sets!! Winner will be announced at the July 19th RELEASE PARTY ON SCS!
