Ellie Loves to Ski…

Posted by Jen | Your Next Stamp, cards | Monday, October 24, 2011

I sure hope that my Ellie will love to ski! I haven’t ever been…and I’m ok with that! It probably has something to do with my aversion to temps that give me the inability to wear flip flops comfortably. I’m more of the water skiing type anyway…which I would like to think that I am pretty good at! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not changing my mind about my new{ish} found love for autumn! It’s winter that I don’t particularly get along with…LOL!

However, this Ellie from YOUR NEXT STAMP Loves to Ski…

skiellie

Doesn’t she look like she is having a blast hitting the slopes? I’m just going to have to leave all of that snow filled fun up to her! Ellie Loves to Ski is just one of the MANY new releases coming your way!

Have you heard the news? The YOUR NEXT STAMP new holiday release is happening NOW! What’s even better, you can grab all the new releases and put them in your cart as they are being shown from NOW {yesterday, actually} until Nov. 2…at a discount {sweet!!}.

Today, I get to show you the new Hello Birdie, Snowman

letitsnow

When I started coloring the snowman, I wasn’t sure what my final project was going to be…a card, a tag or AN ORNAMENT! I was looking through some of my crafty hodge podge {a basket where the stuff doesn’t really have another home} and came across some plastic snowflake ornaments {perfect or altering} that I picked up on super clearance at Target. I’m pretty sure I got 4 for $.25!

Then, I just started to layer and alter to come up with my finished ornament that has both the image and sentiment from the set, as well as a Martha Stewart mini doily, jingle bells, rhinestones, rhinestones {small, medium and large!} and, of course, some glitter! My desk was a royal mess after this…LOL!!

Put a Pin on It…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Lil' Inker, projects | Friday, October 21, 2011

Happy Friday stampy friends! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? On Saturday I am teaching my new Copic Basics Plus class at Scrapper’s Boutique. In the past I have taught Copic 1, 2 and 3. This new class a super amped up version of 1 with a load of more new info and hands on practice. I am pretty excited about it!

Until class tomorrow I think I will be making a few more of these {directions below}…

fringepin

Back side…

I have a thirty-one denim bag on its way to me that I plan to add this to. I think that I am going to make another to attach to my {thin} scarf. There’s a bunch of possibilities these fun and super easy Fringe Flowers from Lil’ Inker Designs…for now, I’m putting a pin on it!

These are SUPER easy {and fast} to make…

1. Cut 3 Fringe Flowers and small {about 1″} circles from your choice of felt colors.
2. Apply adhesive to one {long} side of die cut, fold other side over to adhere.
3. Roll into flower, securing the end with hot glue.
4. Attach circles to back of each coordinating flower {hot glue}.
5. Arrange Fringe Flowers as desired and secure together with hot glue.
6. Attach pin back {yep, with hot glue!}.

Talk about a quick and easy giftie! Are you already thinking red and green or a variety of blues for Christmas/Winter? Me, too!!

With Sympathy…

Posted by Jen | Verve, cards | Thursday, October 20, 2011

As you may have a read on her blog, my friend Carole recently lost her mother unexpectedly. As much as I wish she lived right here and I could give her a big hug, she doesn’t and I couldn’t. What’s a crafty girl to do?…Make a card to let her dear friend know that she is being thought of from miles away. Carole, if you are reading this, you know I {heart} you and my heart goes out to you and your family. <3

Making a sympathy card for a friend is just about one of the hardest {crafty} things to do! Like the card for AJ, I wanted it to be perfect. I don’t know that I would classify it as perfection, but I do like the outcome…

3sympathycard_c

To create this card, I used the Verve set FANCY FLORALS REMIXED…definitely an oldie, but a goodie! I paired it with the new LOOPY BLOOMS die set with a stamped leaf flourish from BLOOM & GROW {matching leaf die can be found HERE}.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only sympathy card that I had to send out this month. As grateful as I am that Verve has some wonderful sympathy sentiments, I really don’t like to have to use them all that often!

Happy Tuesday all you The Cat’s Pajamas fans! This week I am your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess and I have a great inspiration challenge for you…

181rock

I LOVE ROCK ‘N ROLL, SO PUT ANOTHER DIME IN THE JUKEBOX BABY!

I apologize in advance if you are singing like Joan Jett for the rest of the day!

I took a little bit of the rock ‘n roll and a little bit of the color for inspiration to make this card…

Here’s a detail shot of the ticket…
