Wisdom Listens.

Isn’t this a great quote? I think it’s so fun that it’s put on the book bindings, too. This is a Bella stamp that is new to my collection and I thought it would be fun to show it now, right around graduation time.

I colored the image in a variety of different colors and then paired it up with some American Crafts DP {it’s called Ida Zipperelli}. I also used SU!’s Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Black to add a few more colors {did it need any?}. The ribbon is from Michael’s dollar bin from way back when {I sure hope I can find some of this again!!}.

We are off to a cookout this afternoon. I hope all my American friends enjoy their Memorial Day! See ya tomorrow :)

Sketch For You To Try Saturday…

LOCALS: As most you know, Tina is closing Imprints next month. The entire store is now 40% off and she is auctioning off the fixtures. Happy shopping!

Hooray, it’s another Sketch For You To Try Saturday. I hope I didn’t scare you away with last week’s sketch! This week’s is pretty straight forward. I think I might even mass produce the card that I created. I was so tired yesterday afternoon and I just wanted to get a quick and easy card done. Turns out that it’s a quick and easy one that I really like!…that never happens! I hope that this long weekend lets up find a little extra stamping time and you give this one a shot…

What does the checkered panel mean? In a nutshell…do something different here. What you want to define as “different” is up to you. I see people use punched edges and it never occurs to me to do that, so that’s what I decided to give a whirl. Not bad! ;)

Here’s my card using the sentiment from Verve’s Wishful Elegance

ABC Friday…

Good Intentions…the road is paved with them, right? My intention was to have 3 ABC projects done for today’s post. Truth be known, 2 are done, 1 has been photographed and the other is in pieces on my desk. Hopefully I will have the other 2 done and photographed so I can show them at the Verve Stamps Release Party HERE tonight! :)

This project is something super easy that you can put together for any occasion. I used the new set, Sweet On You, which has a ton of little sentiments that I meant to be used with different candies. This sentiment, “You Color My World,” is one that can be used with different colorful candies like Skittles, M&Ms, Jelly Bellies or Twizzlers {or any other colorful candies}. I used a package of multi-colored Twizzlers that I picked up at the grocery store. Other products that you could do with this sentiment include: crayons or little nail polishes.

Here it is with the candy pulled out {again, click on the pic for a larger view}…

To make this project, I started out with 2 pieces of white cardstock measuring 8″ x 4″. I glued THREE sides {you need to keep one un-glued for the opening} and then sewed those same 3 sides. I then took strips of colored DP measuring 3.5″ x 1.5″ and glued them to the front of my pocket. Next, I took a circle Nestabilities and used it to create the “dip” at the top. From there, I just embellished. Easy peasy! I think that I might try to do another and start with a little bigger piece of paper, but sew as if it were 8″ x 4″ and then pink the edges. Cute, no?

Alright, I’m outta here for now. Off to go feed the baby geese by our house. Don’t worry, I have seen the family be very social and not aggressive :)

Love Is In The Air…

Greeting from the last day of school {Mom’s Day Out}. Ellie was so excited when I dropped her off today because she was going to be playing in the bounce house, making ice cream sundaes and eating her weight in pizza. I am so happy with her progress this year and have loved watching her grow and make new friends..at this point everyone is her friend! LOL! With summer up ahead, I am going to have to find new and fun things to do {preferably on the cheap} and find new ways to get some stamping time. I’d love to hear any ideas you all might have :)

For today, I have another Stamping Bella card to show. I got a HUGE box of Bella stuff the other day and couldn’t wait to play, play, play!! Of course you know that I just {heart} the ‘Buggs, so I had to use this new one…Shower Bugg and pair it with the “Love Is In The Air” sentiment. The DP is from Sassafrass Lass and is also available at Stamping Bella.

Well, since it is the last day of school and my last long stretch of along stamping time, I better get crackin’! See you tomorrow for another ABC FRIDAY! :)

New Verve Stamps…

Posted by Jen | Verve, cards, projects | Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Hello! I’m a little later than usual posting today. We’ve been busy doing a little of this and a little of that and blogging has just been at the bottom of my to-do list. As the title of this post suggests, this card/project uses new Verve Stamps! YAY…gotta love new stamps.

When I first got this set in my hot little hands, I knew that I wanted to make a little award/card for a Father’s Day card. I whipped one together using my pinked and regular circle Nestabilities. The bottom part of the ribbon needed a little somethin’ somthin’, so I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Houndstooth embossing folder. This was an easy peasy project that came together in just minutes {once I had the idea all laid out in my head!}.

The ribbon is attached to the card base with a little strip of paper that has re-positionable double sided tape on the top so that the ribbon can be attached after it is worn all day on Father’s Day ;)

There are more great sneak peek on the Verve blog. The release is this Friday and all the deets on the release party can be found HERE. Now I’m off to the grocery store and probably back to the park at some point. :) Have a great day!
