LOOKIE LOOKIE…Check out the boxes below this post. Those are my recent posts and there is now a thumbnail instead of just words. YAY!!

Hey everyone! It’s ABC Friday and I am showing you a card file from GLUE that I have altered. GLUE has 3 sizes of card files and this is the standard size, holding cards measuring 3 x 5. I found some really fun flocked paper at Hobby Lobby and knew that it would be perfect to use on this. One sheet of 12 x 12 paper was enough to cover the card file and create 4 cards in the file. You can make more cards if you don’t cover the bottom, but I was lazy and just wrapped the whole thing.

While I chose to go with the traditional “addresses” way to use this file, it can be used for all sorts of things. My good friend, Susan {or SusSus as Ellie calls her} did a recipe file. You can check that out HERE.

See you tomorrow for another Sketch For You To Try and the winner of last week’s blog tart {there is still time to enter!}.

A while back, Marti of Pez-a-doodle Design Studios asked be to do some guest designer work with some of her stamps. Well, I guess she liked me, because she asked me back to work with some stuff from her new line, Polka Dot Pie. I really love these strawberries from the Chocolate Treats 2 set. Once I got the set, I knew immediately that I wanted to pair it up with the strawberry baskets that I picked up in San Diego over Christmas vacation. Of course, I couldn’t just leave it green, so I painted it white. The kraft crinkle paper really become a finishing touch that it desperately needed. I needed something to bring it all together and use as filler. Who knew that kraft crinkle would save the day!?!? Anyways, this is what I came up with…

This is a detail shot of the front of the basket. I used cute heart buttons to dress it up a little. The “chocolate” is covered with Diamond Glaze and lightly sprinkled with ultrafine glitter.

Here’s the bag that’s filled with chocolate {would have preferred stawberry truffles}. The strawberry image on the bag is the same one as the tags, but smaller. It was the perfect size to dress up the bag by using it with White Staz-On.

“If Friends Were Flowers, I’d Pick You” is one of my favorite sentiments, so I was pretty excited when I saw that it was part of the A Year Of Sweet Sentiments set from Taylored Expressions. It pair up perfectly with this lil’ daydreamer from the Year of Sweets 2 set.

I’m writing this as I am about to go to bed and pre-posting for the morning. I’m sleepy, so I am going to make this short and sweet and get to the point, or the card in this case…

A couple of detail shots of the coloring and of the butterflies…

How did I do the butterflies? I punched them out with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and then covered them with Diamond Glaze and topped them off with an fine aqua glitter from Art Glitter. They took a little while to dry, but I love the BLING they give to this card!

See you tomorrow for an early ABC project!

Pain Is, Love Is…

So, what the heck does that title mean? LOL!

Yesterday I started {fitness} boot camp. I was admittedly nervous about starting this program and it certainly didn’t help when the boot camp instructor said, “Pain is just weakness leaving your body.” I wondered what I had gotten myself into. Now that the first session is over, I can say that it wasn’t too bad. It was definitely work, but afterward I felt great and I am hitting the gym again today…to take one of her classes nonetheless! I signed up for this to help me reach my goal of losing these last 15 that are clinging on for dear life. I’m 27 down and I hope to get rid of those 15 by the end of March.

As this card says, Love Is In The Air. I just love all the Valentine’s cards that I have seen. This may be my favorite holiday to do cards and projects for!! However, I love seeing any holiday card done in non-holiday colors. So, being that I am the Hipster Hostess With The Mostess this week for the TCP Tuesday challenge, I am challenging you with colors that are anything but red and pink. That being said, you do not have to make a Valentine’s card; I just thought it would be fun to get outside the red and pink comfort zone with TEAL, PUMPKIN and OLIVE. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

The heart on the envelope has orange glitter on it! How fun is that!?! I am so not an orange person, but when I saw this glitter, I loved it. It is one of Pixie Stix from Pink Paislee that I picked up while shopping in San Diego.
