Blog Candy, I mean Blog Tarts…

blogtart224.JPG
I saw that another blogger was renaming her blog candy, and I thought that was clever. So, there will no longer be “blog candy” here on i{heart}2stamp.com, but rather BLOG TARTS. Today I am offering a customized luggage tag. The picture makes it look pink and black, but it is actually pink and brown. What do you have to do to get this? Well, I am making it a little different this time. Instead of just leaving a comment, you have to do something a wee bit extra. As you may know, DH has his spot on my blog tomorrow. He is a HUGE movie fan/buff and is always quoting them in one way or another. So, in your comments, you need to leave your favorite quote from a movie. I’ll start with mine from Fried Green Tomatoes (yours can certainly be shorter):

“Hey, I was waiting for that spot!”
“Face it, lady, we’re younger and faster!”
as she smashes into their car…”Face it, girls, I’m older and I have more insurance.”

That scene cracks me up every time! Have fun with this! I will be randomly picking a winner on Tuesday morning, so have your comment posted by Monday at midnight (CST).

Have a wonderful weekend!! We’re off to the mall today to get Tony some new threads and a pretzel and a Coke for me.

Who doesn’t, right? Well, just in case you haven’t caught onto the Bella craze, be sure to go to the StampingBella website, now! Run, don’t walk!! To top everything off…the owner, Emily, is the NICEST chica! I have had the pleasure of speaking with her and I cannot say enough good things! Keep up the great stuff, Emily and I hope to talk to you again, soon! :)
Right now, I have a few Bellas in my collection. I would like to add some more… and by some I mean ALL of them!! For this card I used Cakeabella. She is the one that I was instantly drawn to on the StampingBella site. As with all of the Bellas, she is so versatile! You can color her in limitless ways. Here I colored in her apron in Basic Black and then I used my white Signo pen to create the dots. Her pants are colored Certainly Celery, shoes with Basic Black {using a blender pen} and her hair is Close to Cocoa and is highlighted with Marigold Morning {again, using a blender pen}. Her hair “clip” is a Heidi Swapp crystal flower sticky thingamabob {sorry, don’t know what it is really called}.
Originally, I did plan on cutting her out, but I smeared some ink on the paper and I was left with 2 choices: cut her out or start from scratch. You can see which one I chose. I didn’t think that I was gonna dig her being cut out and mounted, but I actually *really* like it!! As for the rest of the card, the Pixie Pink layer was run through the C’bug with the Heart Blocks embossing folder. A HUGE thank you to my friend, Kirstin, who sent me this {and a ton of other} ribbon!!!! Thanks, Kirstin {now call me back, wouldya!! ;) }. The charm is from JoAnn’s and reads “celebrate.” I thought is was the perfect finishing touch. I can’t forget the yummy part…The Pixie and Passion Pink cake is covered in Crystal Effects and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. It really looks good enough to eat!

Stamps: StampingBella {Cakeabella}
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pixie Pink
Ink: StazOn Black, Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Marigold Morning, Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion
Etc: Charm from JoAnn’s, Ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folder {Heart Blocks}, Dimensionals, 3d Glue Dots

Looking Ahead…
Saturday…!!blog candy!! with a new name
Sunday…Sunday Morning Stamper, also with a new name. Have you submitted your ideas yet?? There are a few that we like, but we are still looking for “the one” to pop out at us! Fun prize for the person that gives Tony his new title!!! {see posts below for more details}

Sketch Challenge 112 Baby Card…

I made this card for SC112 on Splitcoast. It’s a day late, but better late than never, right? I think that I may be addicted to this Bundle of Joy giraffe. I really like the giraffe from Wild About you, but I like being able to color/shade this one. The heart on the tag is covered with Crystal Effects, although it is hard to see that in the pic. The color combination is not one that I have worked with before, but I think that it came out nicely. I just got Vintage Violet stuff last week. I have been so hesitant to get it, but I think that I may never put it down now.

Stamps: Bundle of Joy, Polka Dots and Petals
Paper: Vintage Violet, Ruby Red, Whisper White
Ink: Vintage Violet, Ruby Red, Going Gray, StazOn Black
Other: Dimensionals, Stitched Ribbon

Do you think that I should send this into SU! ?

A Note On The Spam Issue…
If you are still subscribed to my old blogspot account {iheart2stamp.blogspot.com}, please unsubscribe. The person that decided to take over that name after I deleted it is a male enhancement pill hocking person that you probably want nothing to do with. As far as I can tell, he does not have anyone’s email info, and you are only getting spam because that url name is up and running again. Be sure to change your favorites, too. If there are any other problems, please let me know. I have already contacted FeedBlitz and Blogger about this. I do not foresee any more problems, but obviously cannot predict the future and the unkind acts of others not affiliated with me.

Etc…
Have you thought of a new title for Tony? Be sure to let us know by Saturday what his new title should be! Post it in the comments 3 blog posts below. Thanks!!!!

Did you get SPAM?…

Posted by Jen | random ramblings | Wednesday, February 21, 2007

Thank you to one of my readers that informed me that FeedBlitz put out a message from iheart2stamp.com that was actually spam. If you received this, too, please let me know. Thank you!!
Please know that I would NEVER EVER EVER share email, etc info and if this is a problem with FeedBlitz, I would like to rectify it immediately.

i{heart}ATCs…

If you have previously checked in at my old blogspot account {deleted now}, you know that I love doing ATCs. From time to time I host a swap with some of my SCS friends. The current swap is bigger and better than ever and these are the ATCs that I have made for it.
If you don’t know what an ATC is, ATC is short for Artist Trading Card. I did a tutorial for these on Splitcoast. You can see it HERE.
These are fun and really quite easy to make. You can, of course, be as simple or as detailed as you like. I think that these particular ATCs really define my style, sweet and simple, yet detailed. The card is not cluttered and has a fairly basic layout. I have stamped a background image and used paper piercing to give the card more detail and texture. The cake is cut out and mounted on 3-d glue dots. The cake also is highlighted with my Bashful Blue marker and a blender pen. The icing scallops have been colored in with my Sakura Stardust Pen. I {heart} this pen. I bought it through Impress Rubber Stamps HERE.

Stamps: Everyday Flexible Phrases, Fairytale Wedding
Paper: Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, StazOn Black
Etc: 3d glue dots, Sakura Stardust Pen, Paper Piercing Tools

***Don’t Forget To Join In The Challenge***
