Blog Candy, I mean Blog Tarts…
Feb 24th, 2007 by Jen
I saw that another blogger was renaming her blog candy, and I thought that was clever. So, there will no longer be “blog candy” here on i{heart}2stamp.com, but rather BLOG TARTS. Today I am offering a customized luggage tag. The picture makes it look pink and black, but it is actually pink and brown. What do you have to do to get this? Well, I am making it a little different this time. Instead of just leaving a comment, you have to do something a wee bit extra. As you may know, DH has his spot on my blog tomorrow. He is a HUGE movie fan/buff and is always quoting them in one way or another. So, in your comments, you need to leave your favorite quote from a movie. I’ll start with mine from Fried Green Tomatoes (yours can certainly be shorter):
“Hey, I was waiting for that spot!”
“Face it, lady, we’re younger and faster!”
as she smashes into their car…”Face it, girls, I’m older and I have more insurance.”
That scene cracks me up every time! Have fun with this! I will be randomly picking a winner on Tuesday morning, so have your comment posted by Monday at midnight (CST).
Have a wonderful weekend!! We’re off to the mall today to get Tony some new threads and a pretzel and a Coke for me.
Jen,
That movie is one of my all time favorites and I loved that line, too! My son is a big movie quoting artist also–like your husband. I think he can watch a movie once and then just about quote the entire thing. I really enjoy your blog and that luggage tag that will be your “blog tart” is most lovely!
“Life is like a box of chocolates,” from Forrest Gump and it is so true! I loved the one you quoted from Fried Green Tomatoes, too! I always laugh when she says it and down deep, I wish I could do it!!!
Okay…what a beautiful luggage tag! Okay, my movie comment is from Super Troopers…”Meow”! If you’ve never seen the movie…1. it is not for kids and 2. maybe it’s only funny if you’ve got a cop for a husband!
I LOVE shopping for clothes for my DH so have a great time!
My fav quote is from Steel Magnolias: “Well, you know what they say: if you don’t have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!”
My DH quotes movies but TV shows are the worse…we always say that we live vicariously through our sitcoms (and in his case, The Simpsons!)…
Gee, this is a toughie! I don’t have a very good memory for exact quotes, but if I did I would quote the prayer that Ben Stiller uses in Meet the Parents. It cracks me up EVERY time! :o) I just love, love, love these tags! You said you get them at Wal-mart? I may have to go on a treasure hunt now! If I won this one I would use this for my 1-year old daughter’s diaper bag. TOO CUTE!
Allison- I love your quote. I think that is my new favorite quote!
I won’t say this is my favorite quote, unlike my and your husband, I am not one that can recall movie lines but this is one I’ve never forgotten: “I’ll have what she’s having” from When Harry Met Sally, one of my favorite movies!
Love your site. Your artwork is so great. Thanks for sharing!
I thought the movie was only average, but loved the line below from Jim Carey as Lloyd in Dumb and Dumber. He’s having a conversation with the beautiful Lauren Holly.
[Lloyd]“What are the chances of a guy like me being with a girl like you. One in a thousand?”
[Lauren Holly] “Uhhh, more like one in one million.”
[Lloyd] “So your saying there’s a chance.”
Great blog tart! I also love your artwork! My all time favorite quote is from “Pretty Woman”! Julia Roberts is at the Opera and the old woman asks her if she is enjoying the Opera and she replys “It was so good, I almost peed in my pants” and then Richard Gere has to clean it up by saying she said, “She liked it better than Pirates of Penzance”! Too funny!
Fried Green Tomatoes is one of my absolute favorite movies! I often find myself repeating the quote “The secrets in the sauce” from that movie whenever someone complements my cooking.. LOL
Great blog tart, love your blog! My favorite movie quote would have to be “My momma always said life was like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get.”
Forrest Gump, spoken by Tom Hanks
Love the Blog Tart! We are always quoting movies around our house. Of course, right now I’m drawing a blank. But we watched the Princess Bride the other day and I love “My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!”
Love your blog and the cool luggage tag. Great blog tart! Wow…that’s a tough one to come up with my favorite movie quote. My quote would have to be from the movie Armageddon when Rockhound says: I hate it when I know everything! lol
My quote is silly but my Son In Law says it all the time & i have to laugh, it is from Multiplicity and it is “Did you bring me a monkey”. We like to tease him that he is #4. I love the tartyness of your candy! TFS
I love movies…especially old ones. Humphrey Bogart remains the greatest and I love “Casablanca”. SO…my line? “Of all the gin joints in town she had to walk into mine.” We will kid around and say that when company comes over…most of the time they don’t get it — but WE do! LOL!
Cute blog tart!
Princess Bride…
“My name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father…Prepare to die!”
I see that I”m not the only one with that favorite line!!!
My favorite movie quote is from a cheesy Canadian romance movie.
(said about a man)- “its a shame that being stupid isn’t more painful”
Love that blog tart!
What is it with guys and movie quotes? Must be a Y-chromosome thing. I throughly enjoy your blog…as I’ve stated before.
My personal favorite movie quote is from “Nothing to Lose” when Martin Short tries to carjack Tim Robbins and Tim Robbins’ character says, “Boy, did you pick the wrong guy on the wrong day!” Love that one.
Okay, I don’t have a very good memory for movie lines, so one of the first ones that popped into my head was “Let’s Dance!” from Footloose. I must have watched that movie 200 times when I was a teenager!
Love your luggage tags, and the new blog and site!
OMG! Reading these movie quotes was hilarious! I love the idea of “blog tarts” and your giveaway is AWESOME! Please count me in on the FUN! Ok, here is my favorite movie quote…from “It’s a Wonderful Life”…
George Bailey: What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That’s a pretty good idea. I’ll give you the moon, Mary.
Mary: I’ll take it. Then what?
George Bailey: Well, then you can swallow it, and it’ll all dissolve, see… and the moonbeams would shoot out of your fingers and your toes and the ends of your hair… am I talking too much?
“Frankly, Scarlett, I don’t give a damn…….”
=Rhett Butler (who is/was the SEXIEST leading man EVER!!)
“Gone with the Wind.”
(which they are considering bringing to Broadway with (be still my heart) Hugh Jackman……purrrrrrr….
Love the Blog Tart…

One of mine is from Dirty Dancing when Johnny says, “nobody puts baby in the corner”. It has special meaning since my DH who is rather a quiet guy started to call me baby on our honeymoon. When we came home, my family couldn’t get over how he called me baby. My DH has such a deep scary type voice, but it’s so sweet sounding when he calls me baby. He’s been calling me baby for 20 years now. I just love that movie. Maybe it’s the bad boy part of it.
I love the movie Out of Africa, and almost anything will do, but I love the opening when she says (in my best Danish accent) “I had a farm in Africa . . .” and then later “does Africa know a song of me . . .” Love it!! Great tag!!
Oh, there are so many funny lines floating in my head right now and I just can’t decide! Around our house, we’re constantly quoting Nat’l Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Napolean Dynamite and What About Bob, so here goes:
“…you serious, Clarke?”
Can you guess which movie? I’ve since affectionately nicknamed my DH, “Clarke” Ü
Amy/rohla
Gosh I really had to think. A lot of lines in movies make me laugh….In When Sally Met Harry when they were at the restaurant and she is all “a fire” with passion…or so pretending.
I would have to say just about any line from Dirty Dancing. Any line in The Way We Were. I am old and sappy. I just can’t narrow it down.
Shelley
OOOOH, How super!!!
Hmmm, favorite quote….there are so many!!
OK, from Roxanne:
“What did you just say?”
“I said, 10 more seconds and I’m leaving! Why, what did you think I said?”
“Earn more sessions by sleeving.”
“What does that mean?”
“I don’t know, thats why I came out here.”
hehe.. how fun! my dear husband is the oldest of 5 boys.. so when we go to my in-laws for dinner, there are ALWAYS movie quotes going around the table… “What About Bob?” is one of our favorites… “is this corn hand-shucked?” hehe ok so we are nerds.. oh well
Super cute idea for today! My latest favorite is from The Benchwarmers - “Ok Daytime Emmy!” spoken after a long drawn out explanation that was way over dramatic!
Such a cute tag! My favorite is “No Touchey” from Emperors New Groove. We use that one a lot with our 16 month old!
One of my all time favorite movies is “Raising Arizona” with Nicholas Cage and Holly Hunter. There are too many favorite quotes, so I’ll select two from the same scene:
Hi (Nicholas Cage) is looking at another child who is just finishing off the T in FART in crayon on the wall. GLEN (Sam McMurray) chuckles, looking at his errant child, and says “… that Buford’s a sly one. Already knows his ABCs…”
AND
After hearing the sound of shattered glass. GLEN looks around and says, “Mind ya don’t cutchaseff, Mordecai …”
I could go on and on, but I won’t.
LOVE YOUR WEBSITE…I check it everyday!
Betsy in NJ
Jen, I LOVE how you used brads in that big flower. Your tag looks wonderful!
This is a long, but I love it. It is a good one to remember when things are going rough. It is from Cast Away with Tom Hanks:
And that’s when this feeling came over me like a warm blanket. I knew, somehow, that I had to stay alive. Somehow. I had to keep breathing. Even though there was no reason to hope. And all my logic said that I would never see this place again. So that’s what I did. I stayed alive. I kept breathing. And one day my logic was proven all wrong because the tide came in, and gave me a sail. And now, here I am. I’m back. In Memphis, talking to you. I have ice in my glass… And I’ve lost her all over again. I’m so sad that I don’t have Kelly. But I’m so grateful that she was with me on that island. And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?
I just got my holders today so I can make them for family!
Favorite movie line is from Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael:
“I want to kiss you so bad!”
“It’s good to want things.”
Well, my favorite quote is from Raising Arizona where the man in the truck says to Hi (Nicholas Cage) “Son, you got a panty on your head!”….love it! Oh…and love your blog too!
Love that luggage tag, and here’s my favourite quote:
“Legolas! What do your elf eyes see?”
It’s my favourite/most annoying quotes from LOTR… Does Aragon REALLY need to say ELF eyes?? Can’t he just say EYES?? Anyway.. I love quoting movies. It was hard for me to pick one. Good luck everyone!
You do amazing things with these luggage tags! Wish I had half your talent. OK here’s one of favorite movie quotes, its from Erin Brockovich. I just love Julia Roberts.
“What makes you think you can just walk in there and take whatever you want?”
“They’re called boobs, Ed.”
Blog tarts sound delicious.
Taledega Nights…..”Can’t we resolve this conflict without anger”….Walker and Texas Ranger. You’ve got to see the movie, so many FUNNY lines from the 2 little boys. The movie is TERRIBLE, but HILARIOUS at the same time!! p.s. I love visiting your blog!!!
Hi, love the luggage tag! Great blog!
What a great idea…..
Okay so I’d have to say my all time favourite line from a movie is in the movie “Notting Hill” when Julie Roberts says to Hugh Grant “I am just a girl standing in front of a boy waiting for him to love me!” awww…how cute is that!!! I love love love that line!!! I just adore Julia Roberts all her movies are great!
Thanks
This is hilarious! Mine has a bad word in it, so I hope no one is offended!
From Overboard -
“I’m not a bitch! Everyone wants to be me!” I love it and quote many, many more lines, but this is my favorite.
Thank Jen!
“You can’t leave! All the plants are gonna die!”
John Winger (Bill MUrray) Stripes
“You expect me to believe that scantily clad, in the arms of another man, in the middle of the night, inside an elephant you were rehearsing?”
The Duke (Richard Roxburgh) Moulin Rouge
OK, so it’s not a classic, but I love How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I really like it when Ben and Andy get off the phone after their first date and they both turn to their friends and say “And that’s how it’s done.” I love your luggage tags. I had to run out to Walmart to get some right away! Now to actually make some!
“Waaa….waaaa….somebody call the waaambulance” is what I’ll be saying when I don’t win that darling luggage tag! (Bruce Willis in The Kid)
From a comedy with Chris Farley and David Spade- “Thats gonna leave a mark!”. Tony can figure out the movie
Love the tag!
I’m an old woman and the only line I can think of is from “Gone With The Wind” when at the bottom of the stairway, Rhett Butler says, “Frankly, Scarlett, I don’t give a dam”.
Ahh, there’s so many, but this is one of my favorites.
“Those could’ve been guests at our wedding.”
“They were cones!”
-From the limo scene in Wedding Singer
your diaper bag tags are TOO cute for words…
Okay… I love Hugh Grant in Nottinghill and especially his “whoopsidaisies” scene:
William: Whoopsidaisies!
Anna Scott: What did you say?
William: Nothing.
Anna Scott: Yes you did.
William: No I didn’t.
Anna Scott: You said “whoopsidaisies”.
William: I don’t think so. No one says “whoopsidaisies” do they? Unless they’re…
Anna Scott: There *is* no “unless.” No one has said “whoopsidaisies” for fifty years and even then it was only little girls with blonde ringlets.
William: Exactly. Here we go again.
[He falls off the fence again]
William: Whoopsidaisies. It’s a disease I’ve got. It’s a clinical thing. I’m taking pills and having injections. It won’t last long.
okay… I also love Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes & if I really need a laugh, a deep down in the gut belly laugh, I watch the scene in the restaurant where he is trying to order a steak “rare” with a New York mafia accent… really TOO FUNNY!
Waitress: And how would you like that cooked?
Michael Felgate: Ree.
Waitress: Excuse me?
Michael Felgate: Rah.
Waitress: Raw?
Michael Felgate: Rahr.
Waitress: Rare? And to drink?
Michael Felgate: Bee.
Waitress: Beer?
Michael Felgate: Yah.
Waitress: You talk funny.
my favourite line is from Playing by Heart. Cheesey movie with a faboo line.. Sean Connery said “I never knew happiness until I was married, but by then it was too late”.
Bahahahaha!
To show my true geeky side…my quote is:
“Resistance is futile”
I am finding this true to blogging as well as the stamping bellas!!!
YM
Ok..love the Resistance is Futile, but I will have to go with a quote from The Adams Family:
“in” girls: Would you like to buy some Girl Scout Cookies?
Wednesday Adams: Are they made with Real Girl Scouts?
Just such a great line!!
Thanks for the fun contest, and awesome tags!!
I’m sure this isn’t my favorite movie quote but it is possibly my most used movie quote. I use it when my son (13 almost 14 years old and always feeling like the most abused, least-liked child in the household) isn’t at his most charming. We love him all the same :)!The quote is from Toy Story-”That ain’t no happy child!”.
Ahhh, love movie qoutes…my sister and I are always throwing them back and forth. Our most quoted movie of all time must be “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” with John Candy and Steve Martin. The BEST! There is one scene where this totally hick couple are giving them a ride and they are unloading their luggage from the truck and the hick husband tells them his wife we’ll do it…
“She’s strong. Her first baby…it come out sideways. She didn’t scream or nothin’ “
Love the tag.
Gosh, movie qoutes….use them all the time. Right now the favorite one in the house is “Poor, poor, Rodney. Got flushed down his own potty” Flushed Away
Now myself, I like “Inconceivable!” Princess Bride
