Hugs-and-Smiles…

Posted by Jen | Verve, cards | Friday, April 15, 2011

TGIF! Wow it’s been a long week! Fortunately, I have had a wee bit of time to play in my stamp room. Laundry, what laundry? There are days that I am so uninspired to do housework it’s unbelievable! My hubby might argue that it’s EVERYday, but I think it’s just more like every OTHER day…LOL! I know I can’t be the only one! :)

So, back to that part about being in my stamp room…

If you haven’t seen yet, tonight Verve is having a awesome spring release with new stamps and coordinating dies. Would you believe I don’t have those stamps?…yet! They are on their way, though! Until I get to play with them, you can see the sneak peeks/links that have been posted HERE on the Verve blog. For now, I am mixing some old{er} with the new{er}. I brought out the set, Kind Words and paired it with the recently released Flutterby butterfly die and Bazzill pattern paper {Grandma’s Feather Bed} to make this {somewhat} CAS card…

Time to Hit the Beach…

Posted by Jen | Your Next Stamp, cards | Thursday, April 14, 2011

Oh, I wish!

I am in serious need of a vacation and a tropical beach is just what the doctor ordered! Until that happens, I will just spend some of my “free” time stamping away and dreaming about it.

Karen, of YOUR NEXT STAMP, sent me this cute lil’ Ellie Loves the Beach image {part of their latest release!} awhile ago and it has been sitting on my desk patiently waiting to get inked up. I **finally** got to play with it the other day and this is what I came up with…

I have to admit that I feel that my mojo is a little down in the dumps lately, so I went back to a tried and true layout that never seems to fail me. The sentiment is a wood mounted one that I have had in my stash for forever and a day. It, too, was uninked and I am so happy that I rediscovered it! Don’t you love when that happens?

Alright, time to jet. I hear the wee one waking up and that’s my cue to get moving!

Welcome Baby…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, blog hopping, cards, challenges | Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Tracy Falco, a DT member for The Cat’s Pajamas, just welcomed a baby boy into this world last week! Congrats to Tracy and her growing family!!

The Cat Pack is giving her a big group hug in the form of a TCP baby card hop for TCP Tuesday. See below how you can play along, too! If you didn’t start at Alma’s blog, be sure to take moment to rewind so that you don’t miss a thing!

I created my card using a combination of the Big Bear and And Baby Makes…{sentiment} sets.

I colored the bear a dirty brown/white using a combination of light brown Copics and my Colorless Blender…

Of course, I couldn’t let a button detail be plain! I adorned the button with my favorite linen thread

I went ahead and used a 3″ x 5.5″ card base again. I love this size!! It’s a little smaller, but you can stuff over the sides, since it will still fit into an A2 envie. This would be a fun size to make a set of gift cards, or even punch a whole in the top and make it a hanging card off of a gift bag. Lots of options here!

Gonna keep hopping along? Check out the cuteness at Jackie’s blog! :)

So wanna make a baby card and play along? Here are the details you wanna know…

1. Each Tuesday we will give you a challenge.
2. You will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge.
3. Add your entry to the guestbook on Alma’s blog or upload to the SCS Gallery, using the keyword TCPTUES154 for this week’s challenge.
4. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a
specific stamp}
5. There will be one randomly chosen weekly winner, announced on Tuesdays.
6. There will be one winner, The Swanky Stamper, announced the 1st of each month. They will win several sets from an upcoming release and get to play along with us at our Pajama Party and Blog Hop.

The Coolest Chick…

Posted by Jen | Verve | Saturday, April 9, 2011

Let me tell you about the coolest chick I know…

This girl is smart and creative. She is on the verge of reading and can color inside the lines like nobody’s business. She’s tall and slender. By that I mean a head above most in her class and some might say that if the wind blew too hard, she would get knocked over. She is silly, witty, funny. Oh, the knock knock jokes she makes up herself would make you giggle {mostly because they make no sense at all}. She loves being a big sister…as long as her brother doesn’t pee on her at bath time {or anytime, for that matter}. She is a lover of worms and wookiees, as well as princesses and tea parties, and everything in between. And, you know what…she **almost** scored a goal at her soccer game today, too…woot woot!! Next week, baby, next week!! I’m sure by now, you’ve guessed it…it’s my own lil’ Ellie! She is most definitely the coolest chick that I have ever known!

This is the {very Verve-y} Easter basket tag that I made for her the other day…

I used some tulle behind a bow that I double tied for some extra girly-girlness…

As for the other details…
I used the Flutterby die from Verve and added some rhinestones {Doodlebug, of course} in the center for a lil’ bling bling. The button is vintage and by that I mean found in Tony’s grandma’s old Folgers can {Thanks, Loree!!} and it is tied off with my most favoritest of embellishment…LINEN THREAD from TCP {which is also where the grass die is from}.

Truth be told, I am recuperating from not feeling well Thursday and Friday so I am going to cut this short now and get some much needed rest. I want my mojo back in full swing this coming week! Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I’ll see ya in a few!

This week’s challenge is from our departing Cat Packer, Sony. Her talent is amazing and she never ceases to make my jaw drop! Be sure to hop over to her blog and give her a little TCP farewell love {and check out what she made for this challenge!}!

I made {another} 3″ x 4.25″ card for this challenge using the new set, The Tweestest Things, and the the fabby dabby doo CutUps die, Home Tweet Home
