Rain, Rain, Go Away…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards | Saturday, March 26, 2011

No rain here in North Texas! It’s a been a beautiful start to the spring season here and I have been loving every minute of it with the kiddos {and Tony, too}. This morning, Ellie has a soccer game {also known as a chase the butterflies, point out the airplanes and dig in the dirt at this age} and then I hope to find some flowers to plant in our front garden. I’m planning on Vincas this year with a white, green and purple palette to the garden. I’ll post pics…if it turns out pretty!

Of course, I am sure that North Texas is in for it’s fair share of rainy {ahem, stormy tornado watchy weather}, and I will look at this card and remember these sunny days! I do love this sentiment. You can use this to brighten a person’s day and let them know that it’s going to be ok.

From the upcoming release from The Cat’s Pajamas, this card uses the Wet Puddle set…

I cut the clouds from a free SVG file that I found online and re-sized them 3 times. I then layered them to get the dimension that I was seeking…

As for some of the other details…
I paper pieced the sweet girl’s slicker and added Crystal Effects/Diamond Glaze to her boots {wellies}. The photos are picking it up real well, but in this set there is a puddle/bubbles stamp and I used that in an aqua ink on top of the aqua paper. The rhinestones are from those Doodlebug Designs packages that I cannot put away and they adorn flowers that are part of the new Pinwheel CutUps die set that will be released on March 29th. The blueberry baker’s twine is one of THREE new colors being released TCP, too! I told ya this release was terrific.

A Girl and Her Cake…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards | Friday, March 25, 2011

Today is day FOUR of Sneaky Peek week for the new release from THE CAT’S PAJAMAS. We are leading up to the March 29th release that is gonna knock your socks off! Today we are giving you a peek {make that a VIEW} of the new set, A Girl and Her Cake

Detail shots…

As you can see, I had a little bit of fun with a variety of pattern paper! I little of this, a little of that. Some of this, some of that. I really just grabbed a punch of scraps that I had on the top of that “use this stuff now” pile that I think I mentioned recently. The bunny’s tail is embellished and I adorned the “Wish” panel with Doodlebug Designs rhinestones. I used the Big Pinking Border along the wish panel. I like that the edges compliment the pinked circle that the sentiment is mounted on.

Is this set adorable or what?…

You Rock My World…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, projects | Thursday, March 24, 2011

It’s day three of Sneaky Peek Week for The Cat’s Pajamas! If this release doesn’t rock your crafty world, I just don’t know what will!! There will be EIGHT new stamp sets and more great CutUps dies available come March 29th!

Speaking of ROCKIN’ YOUR WORLD, these lil’ IDOLS penguins have it going on…

rocktriptych_center

Seriously, could these penguins be any cuter!?! I made a triptych using this set. The above picture is the center of it, which is flanked by matching sides…

The center panel has all three rockin’ penguins jammin’ out {guitar penguin popped up} and it’s topped off with the new Easy Rosette die {loves it!}. The side panels each have 2 of many great lyrical sentiments stamped as pattern paper and are topped with both the smaller Easy Rosette CutUps die, as well as the musical note from the Home Tweet Home CutUps die. One of the musical notes on each side is popped up for added dimension. And, what’s a rockin’ triptych ;) without a little bling? I reached for my Doodlebug rhinestones {again!} and added them to the title panel and the small rosettes.

There’s a whole lot more to see! Be sure to check out Alma’s blog for a full list of peekers, in addition to another peek at IDOLS. Have a rockin’ day!!

Courage…

I’m writing this as I watch Big Bang Theory re-runs via NetFlix. Anyone else a fan? I {heart} Dr. Sheldon Cooper! His neurosis crack me up and I can’t wait for more of his “girlfriend,” Amy Farrah Fowler, too! Of course, you must love the song~ Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur…

I digress.

I’m gonna go ahead and make the assumption that you came to here to see some craftiness, so I will go ahead and get on with that portion of this post. I got some free crafty time the other night and got out my Blue Skies set from Verve

courage

I love this sentiment! After all, isn’t about getting up after the fall?

As for the rest of the card, of course, I had to dive back into the My Mind’s Eye, Stella and Rose, collection! I am running out of my fave pages, so I either need to go on a little shopping adventure or I need to branch out and use some of the other pieces in my “use this now” stack. I do love that this paper is slightly textured and looks great with stitching. The flourish is also from the same set and I adorned it with Doodlebug Design rhinestones purchased from Emma’s Paperie.

Cutting this a little short because I am brain dead and my battery light is blinking at me. Have a great day!!

How’s that for something spring-y and sweet!?! That’s just what I took away from the pics as my inspiration.

Today the Cat Pack is showing off the upcoming set, WHAT A BLAST featuring the beloved PJ Bear and the great new CutUps dies that will be released March 29! Whatcha think?…

I used three of the four new die sets that are coming out on this card, too!

Easy Rosette, paired with the {small} Pinwheel CutUps dies…

The Easy Rosette is just that…EASY! To create the finished rosette you cut the rosette die twice and cut each once to center. You then fold along score lines and attach together to create full circle. So much easier than traditional rosette making…I cross my heart! Click HERE to see the YouTube how-to video!
