Miss You a Latte…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards | Tuesday, September 21, 2010

It’s Preview Day #2 of the brand spankin’ new a´la modes from My Favorite Things. Many of the MFT designers are participating in these previews and a full list of blog links can be found HERE on Kim’s/The MFT blog by 11am EST.

Lattes are front and center, or rather on each hip of this a´la mode in the new rubber set, Miss You a Latte. Can I tell you how much I absolutely LOVED coloring this? I think you can tell that Starbucks colors may have had a **little** influence here. Too bad I didn’t have my favorite drink beside me as I colored this!! I still love the way it came out, though!

The scalloped edge was created by using the Jumbo Scallop Die-Namic with Earth Girl green felt. It was just the textured element that this card needed…

Candy Cane Kisses…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards | Monday, September 20, 2010

A couple months ago, My Favorite Things came out with a great new line of stamps…a´ la modes. These are deeply etched rubber stamps of super cute girls holding larger than life objects. You can find all of the a´ la mode stamps HERE on the MFT site. Myself, and many of the girls on the MFT design team, have lots peeks to show you today and tomorrow. You can find a full list of players on Kim’s/MFT blog by 11am EST each day.

Today is the Candy Cane Kisses a´la mode world premiere. As the name implies, this sweet stamp set has the a´la mode girl is holding a candy cane and sentiments that pair perfectly with it. I made a tag that could be hung from a gift bag or that a candy cane could be a attached to…

I don’t have a whole lot of blah blah blah for today. It’s been a long weekend {I’m writing this Sunday night} ! See you tomorrow for another a´ la mode post :) It’s quite tastey…in my opinion, at least!! :)

Sketch For You To Try…

Posted by Jen | SFYTT 2010, Verve, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, September 18, 2010

Hooray for Saturday! Today I am off to teach a couple of Copic classes at my local store, Scrapper’s Boutique and then I am going to come home and relax with the family. Tony spent all last week in Switzerland…without his sweet, dear, loving wife. **Sniffles** That’s what happens when work tells you on Friday afternoon that you are leaving on Tuesday morning. While I am so happy that his work gives him the opportunity to see the world, I wouldn’t mind a little more of a head’s up!! His mom came to help out for a few days! Thanks Julie, you are a lifesaver!

I got a lot of stamping and cleaning done this week and the kids got to spend lots of time with JuJu. Being that I had a little more time than usual in my “hole,” aka my studio, I was able to get some mojo brewing…YAY! I hope that you will agree from my card this week! But first let’s see who won the 3 digis from THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE

CONGRATS to #33 Kecia!!! Kecia, just shoot me over an email {link under my pic} and I’ll get you all set up :)

Thank you again to THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE for their sponsorship!!

Here’s this week’s sketch…

Here’s my sample using the Verve set, Blessings {currently on backorder…sorry!}…

There are a lot of details put into this card!! First, the pattern paper which already had glitter on it is embossed on one side and stitched around the edge on the other. The circular panel is paper pierced and popped up behind the Prima flower adorned with tulle and a pearl. The long rectangular panels behind the sentiment are embossed and layered and the top one is punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. I used some great velvet and sheer ribbon on the top of the sentiment panel for added visual interest and texture. Did I get it all? Hope so!

Tori Wild, this month’s Designer of the Month, designed this BOO-tiful card…

This is DAY 2 of the a grand Blogs 4 Boobies Bounce that is being put on by Skipping Stones Design. You can find all deets that kicked off the event HERE on the Skipping Stones blog. This blog bounce {hop} has been set up as a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Being that this is a bounce, I want to make sure that you are on the right track. If you are hopping along, then you came here from Gladys Chia’s blog and you will be cruising along to Maile Belles blog after you are all done bidding ;) here.

This is a cause that is near and dear to me. My mom is a breast cancer survivor that will be CANCER FREE 2 years next month. I know that not all women are blessed enough to be able to say that, so let’s pull together and make this fundraiser a success.

Your bid not only includes the card or project but shipping to your home as well. Please note if you want to bid and live outside the U.S. we would request that you pay the difference of shipping charges between where you live and what it would cost to ship within the US. **SEE INFO ON HOW TO BID BELOW**

Fun in the SNOW…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards | Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Kinda hard to think about snow when it’s 95 degrees outside with an insane amount of humidity, but The Cat’s Pajamas just released some DAR-LING new wintery images from a great new artist, Zlatina Gocheva {she joined us last release, too} and that is what this post is ALL about. Aren’t these bunnies are just too fun?! I decided to do all four cards in the same color palette so they ended up as a set of cards in the end. Yep, FOUR cards in this post! Sit down, relax and keep scrolling…

I used a Sakura Stardust pen over the fishing hole and then topped it off Diamond Glaze. Off course, there is plenty of bling to go around all over this card…

Who doesn’t love a little Skating Bunny?…

I embossed the felt with my polka dot embossing folder and then topped it off with a row of buttons with some of that awesome linen thread

And, last but not least, here’s Mr. Black Diamond~Ski Bunny

I embossed both the hill panels, but flipped one over so it looks a little different. Those panels are also stitched and then I topped it off with some bulk snow-y glitter that I got a couple years back at Mike’s…

I’m am beat down tired and off to bed! See ya for more stamped goodness tomorrow!
