Couldya, Wouldya…

Posted by Jen | challenges, random ramblings | Thursday, March 18, 2010

Ok, so remember the card that I posted yesterday with the Starbucks “trash?” Well, if I get the most comments on it on Facebook, then I can win a serious amount of ink. So, couldya, wouldya help me out?

You need to be a fan of Impress Rubber Stamps. Their fan page is HERE on Facebook.

Then, you need to comment on my photo HERE.

2nd Post For Today…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, cards | Wednesday, March 17, 2010

This is my 2nd post for today. I have my “Beary Green” TCP Tuesday post below.

When I first started stamping I discovered Impress Rubber Stamps out of Washington. They probably came up on a Yahoo! search that I did or something like that. I fell in love with their images in an instant and I have a small collection of them in my studio. Unfortunately, they do not get the love that they so inky-ly deserve. I few weeks ago, I put a couple on my desk vowing to use them. Then, I got an email from Ann at Impress asking me to contribute a card/project to their Go Green event. You bet I hopped on it!

The idea behind this GO GREEN event is to use what may have otherwise gone in the trash on the card/project. Like Starbucks, Impress is also out of Washington so what better product to use on my project.

I took the packaging from my slice of Pumpkin loaf and cut flowers using my Slice Wedding design card. I layered them and then topped them off with a button and twine. The corrugated circles were cut from the hot drink sleeve with Nestabilities.

So how many ways can you GO GREEN? If you are in the area of any of the Impress stores {oh how I wish I was!} stop by for their GOING GREEN events at each of their locations!

Happy St. Paddy’s Day…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Wednesday, March 17, 2010

This is my first post for today. I will have another in the early afternoon :)

Happy St. Paddy’s Day Y’all! Here I am AGAIN with TCP Tuesday on Wednesday. This time it’s a little more intentional than it usually is. I actually had this card done yesterday, but being that it’s a card for today I thought it was best to hold off a few extra hours.

This week’s Hipster Hostess with the Mostess is Amy Rohl. She’s challenging you to take out that paper piercer and pop some holes in your card. I used my paper piercer to create a frame around the bear and then I connected the dots with my white gel pen to create some faux stitching. It’s been a LONG while since I have done faux stitching, but it works well here because I can’t get a perfect real sewn line to save my life. This card uses the new set, Beary Good Year from The Cat’s Pajamas along with some Martha Stewart glitter…

I hope you have a wonderful St. Paddy’s Day! We’re gonna be enjoying the spring sunshine and hanging out in the {not quite yet} GREEN grass.
I still remember St. Patrick’s day in preschool. They attempted to serve green noodles and green milk. Let’s just say that THIS 4 year old wasn’t having it!

Sketch For You To Try…

Spring has sprung…finally! We have a zoo trip planned this weekend. Ellie can’t wait to show “little brudda” all the animals. I’m sure I will take a couple hundred pics LOL! What did we do before digital? When I first started uploading to SCS, I hated the way that the scans looked so I would take a picture, develop it, scan it and then upload it. WOW…and that was just a few years ago. Glad I got with the program and went digital…digital SLR, to be exact…love it!!

Well, I’m sure you didn’t come here to read how I am a little late in the whole world of technology, so let’s get to the point and see what this week’s sketch is all about…

April 6 6:30 pm- Copic III
May 4 6:30 pm- Copic I

Yesterday I showed you a scrap page that I made of Ellie and her/Tony’s chocolate shake. I took a picture of my Thin Mint shake, too. I just like how the pictures came out, so I thought that I would go ahead and share them here.

Mmm, Thin Mint…

Finally, I have a card to share. When I saw this image from Taylored Expressions I fell in love. I just think the 2 elephants and hearts are so cute together. The sentiment is a mounted rubber stamp from Hampton Arts that I have had in my stash for quite some time. I used more of the My Mind’s Eye Quite Contrary line…some of my all time favorite paper!

Off to do some work around the house and hopefully get some stamping done!
