ABC Friday ~ Lookie What I Made x 2!…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Bella, The Cat's Pajamas, projects | Friday, September 26, 2008

A few weeks ago I was asked if I wanted to participate in the Bella Blog Hop, Skip and Jump. I love Emily and all that Bella offers, so it was pretty much a no brainer! Our challenge was to create a holiday treat holder. No one ever said which holiday, so I went with Halloween. I chose to do one of Jody’s Boxy-Bags {genius coming up with this cute lil’ template, I tell ya!!}. I chose Little Witchy for my image and colored her in with my Copics. I am lovin’ the new bat punch from Martha Stewart and punched them out in black and then covered them with black Stickles. The charm at the top is actually a bat jingle bell that I picked up at Wal-Mart last year.

I picked up the black and white candy at Target. They are like skull and bone runts that taste all fruity!

Be sure to check out the other gals playing along in the Bella Blog Hop, Skip and Jump…

Last, but certainly not least, I have one of the coolest things I have ever done in stamping to show you! I have been sitting on this project for weeks and I am so excited that I **finally**get to show you!! It’s a stamp on a cookie!! Are you rolling your eyes at me? LOL! Well, I had fun doing it and am proud to show it off. But first, the outside of the wooden bag that it is in…

Detail shot…

The cookie fresh out of the oven…

In a cello bag with a cute little tag…

That cute little tag that I just mentioned…

How did I do it? I put a Pillsbury sugar dough roll in the freezer for about 30-45 minutes, so I when I sliced through, it would be hard. I then stamped on the cookie with Brilliance Graphite Black ink and cooked per the instructions on the cookie dough packaging. Is it safe? Well, the ink pad says Non-toxic, but I wouldn’t go off and eat dozens of these. Apparently one won’t hurt. I’ve been told that I have always been this strange and it not a side effect of eating inky cookies. ;) Head on over to the TCP site to see the three new Clearly Swanky sets just released!

I think that this is one of my fave posts ever. I hope you enjoyed it, too. Tomorrow is Tony’s and my 5th anniversary. I made my Sketch For You To Try card special for him. See ya then!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! Mine was the 15th of this month. I love this project. It is adorable but alas my boys are too old for something of this nature. I don’t think my 14 year old son would appreciate these cookies. It is super cute!

This is all so cute Jen. Each gift is great, and perfectly detailed. I always wanted to stamp on cookies, but figured I’d get a million emails asking about the safety :D They look adorable.

Your work is beautiful! I’ve stamped on food before but I use food coloring and a new uninked stamp pad. Just an alternative.

These are so cute, but especially the pirate. I would have LOVED to have this for my sons pirate party last weekend… Drat! I think there can never be enough pirate stamps in the world. and I love stamping on cookies! I think you could do it on frosting too. I think they have edible kinds. (and yes with food coloring) I think i must visit the cake store up the street to check it out. Thanks for the inspiration!

Great projects… FYI thought you might like to know that there are markers available that are edible in the cake decorating sections that you could probably use instead of ink! Also… where do you find that boxy bag tutorial… that is fabulous.

    –cheers
