Four Cards To Share Today…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, Verve, cards | Thursday, April 24, 2008

Need new stamps? Well, tomorrow is your lucky day then! Verve Visual is releasing two new stamp sets, Great Expectations and Father Figure. Great Expectations is a sentiment set that contains a slew of encouraging and congratulatory sentiments, and it is the set that I have used on all of my samples today. Father Figure is the perfect set for masculine cards, and it’s not just for dads!
More samples can be seen on yesterday’s and today’s posts on the Verve Blog…which is where you want to go if you want to win these sets!! Tomorrow is the release and there might be a deal that you don’t want to miss, too. Hmmm…what could it be?

This card was inspired by an Army bumper sticker…

Matilda Muffinbread Meets Nana’s Nursery…

Posted by Jen | Bella, cards | Wednesday, April 23, 2008

{Well, for this card, it’s Matilda CherryOnTop}

Two things that I am currently infatuated with…

1. The Bella fairies {chichiboulie line}
2. Nana’s Nursery {DCWV} designer paper {this is from the girl pack, but the boy paper is just as cute…and 40% off at Joann’s right now}

Put the two together and TA-DA

Coloring detail {done with Copic markers}…

Could this fairy be any cuuuuter? Me thinks not! I chose not to add a sentiment to this card because I thought it would just be too much. For a finishing touch, I added some embellAshment flowers to which I added teeny tiny Swarovskis to the center. I’m off to go play with Patricia Birthdaycake from the same line. Have a great day!

Wasted Away Again In {Strawberry} Margaritaville…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards | Tuesday, April 22, 2008

It’s TCP Tuesday! Today’s Hipster Hostess with the Mostess is my dear friend, Carole. For all of you that know Carole, or at lease read her blog, know that she has a wicked sense of humor and a personality that tops most. So, when I heard that she was going to host an inspiration challenge, I knew that it wouldn’t a lamp shade that we were trying to replicate. Her challenge to us and YOU… Jimmy Buffett songs. Yes, seriously! Of course when I think Jimmy Buffett, I think beach and ‘ritas. I was kinda in a time bind, but knew that I **had** to do something, so I came up with this lil’ card featuring a strawberry margarita. The paper is from DCVW Nana’s Nursery collection {cute papers in this collection!!} the stamps are, of course, The Cat’s Pajamas.

Think Pink Mini Card…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards | Monday, April 21, 2008

Happy Monday All! On the 20th of each month, MFT “declares” Celebrating MFT Day. What does that mean? It’s just an excuse to stamp with your MFT stamps, really. It’s something we came up with a few months ago where MFT fans can “get together” and post their MFT creations on one day each month. I’m sure you all are saying, “Um, Jen, it’s not the 20th today.” Yes, I know, it’s the 21st. I take a break from blogging, uploading, etc. on the 20th, so here I am today sharing this with you. This is actually a mini card that I have been saving to share. The design is from a PaperCrafts magazine Joy Of Cardmaking call. This was my first go at it and then I realized that I didn’t read the directions in full and that I was actually supposed to use certain colors as well. So, I went back to my studio, go out the right colors and created another, which was fortunately picked up {YAY!}. We’ll see that one in a few months in PaperCrafts.
This card uses the Think Pink set from My Favorite Things. I used my Copics to color it and for finishing touches I paper pierced, and added a rhinestone brad and taffeta ribbon.

Have a wonderful week!! I have TCP, Bella and Verve stuff all coming up this week.

The Winner of LOOT and A Fun Sketch For You To Try…

Posted by Jen | blog tarts, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, April 19, 2008

WOW!! I guess a **few** of you wanted to win this LOOT!! I can say that I was a bit shocked when the entries topped 550 yesterday…WOW! THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING A 400K GIVEAWAY POSSIBLE!!!!!

Let’s roll out the red carpet and have a drumroll please- The LUCKY winner is…

259 COLLEEN {kroppycat}

My biggest indulgence is Pepsi. I should say Pepsis (plural), because I drink them all day. Not diet Pepsi (bleh!). . . . regular Pepsi.
Congrats on the hits! Amazing, but not surprising. You go girl!
Hugs,
Colleen

Now, I know the real reason that you are here isn’t to see if you won, but rather to see what today’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY is. Right? ;) Well, good news…I have a great Sketch For You To Try this week. It’s very versatile and you can “read” the layers as you wish. When I drew out this sketch, my mind’s eye say the top and bottom layer on top of the middle layer; however, you can layer them as your little heart desires. Also, the heart merely represents some sort of embellishment. Have fun with this…there are endless possibilities!

More SUPER DUPER samples on the blogs of my buds…Amy, Carole, Shannan and Susan {Susan even did TWO!…ambitious, aren’t we, Sus?}.

My sample, using the C.C.Designs set, “It’s My Birthday”. It is available at All That Scraps. The ribbon idea is compliments of Pam Bassett.
