My Challenge Card and {organized} Stamp Room…

Posted by Jen | cards, challenges, random ramblings | Wednesday, April 30, 2008

**FIRST…THANK YOU to all of you that commented on my post yesterday. I will have more commentary about all your suggestions later, but I just wanted to say THANKS. You all are AWESOME**

HOORAY!!…
I got to do the sketch challenge today and my stamp room is all put back together…not necessarily in that order, tho. First, here’s a pic of my card that I did for the SCS Sketch Challenge for today
littlebaby_biglove.jpg
I had to change up the dimensions a little bit, because I was using an 8×8″ piece of patterned paper {DCWV Nana’s Nursery}. So, the long side measures 8″ instead of 9″. The stamp is from Hero Arts. I passed up purchasing it several times, but last time I saw it I knew it was meant to be. Don’t you love when that happens!?! It’s almost as good as when the stamps just leap off the shelf into your cart. ;) The ribbon and ink are SU!’s Regal Rose and are a perfect match to the flowers on the DP. Again, love when that happens! As I sit and stare at this card, I think that I want to add some crazy stitching around the white on the inside. I’ll have to ponder that some more and maybe give it a go. I’ll be sure to re-post if I do.

Now, here is what I have been doing for the past couple of days. THANK YOU Susan for coming over to help me get through the “Oh my goodness, what have I started?” stage!!

Looking into the room…
stamproom1.jpg

From the top…stuff, stamps, paper, clear/unmounted stamps in cd cases, embellishments…
stamproom2.jpg

Pretty good shot of the stash of paper and ribbon I have. The stuff on top of the shelf going across is PTI stuff, ribbon scraps, magazines, more ribbon and a 3 drawer organizer with envies, bags and such in it…

Different View, a little more to the right…

The desktop…stamproom6.jpg

From the top… stuff, random tools {light table, heat gun, glue gun, etc.}, Cricut and Cricut stuff, Cuttlebug and Bind-it-All and their stuff, Janome Sew Mini and sewing stuff.

Have I mentioned RIBBON!?!…

I have tons of alterables hidden away in cabinets and drawers, too. That is why I started ABC Friday…LOL!…to make myself work with all those fun goodies. Well, I hope you have enjoyed a peek into my stamping world. I am going to work on challenges tonight and hopefully have 2 cards for you tomorrow.

Great stamp room. I’m jealous!!! Quick question…from the picture, it doesn’t look like all of your ribbon is stored in drawers. (There’s something with ribbon sitting on top of the drawer unit.) What other type of storage do you use? Again, great room. Thanks for sharing.

I love your stamp room. I’m soooo jealous. Quick question…It looks like you are storing some ribbon in something other than the 3 drawer unit. (It’s sitting on top of the three drawer unit with the ribbon.) What else do you use for your ribbon storage. Again, I love your room. Thanks for sharing.

That card is so pretty! Sweet and simple without being cutesey. Good for people who aren’t into super cute but do want something sweet.

And holy crap I love the stamping room. Can I move in? Some day I will have a room for my crafts I swear. And I’ll be organized enough that I could put things away. I vow this! For now I’ll just daydream about having your room! ;)

I have a room, but have put of decorating it because I don’t know what kind of storage to get and I devfinitely don’t know what color to paint it, but now…I’m leading towards a dark gree! LOL…

The room looks welcoming. Everything looks easily accessable.

Do you always remove ribbon from the spool and roll it on the floss holders?

With the large window allowing the sun shine into the room, how do you prevent the card stock from fading?
