Simply Graphic Happy Birthday…

Have you noticed a shift in my card making style? Even Tony noticed that he is seeing a lot more white space on my cards…proof that he actually does look at them when I show them to him and he gives me the obligatory, and quite sarcastic, “Oooohhh, Aaaaahhh.” This clean, simple and sometimes graphic style isn’t taking the place of my love for coloring, layering and embellishing. It’s just another style that I have learned to love and want to incorporate into my bag-o-tricks.

Or…maybe I am searching for some simplicity in my creative life after years of gracefully leaping over plastic toys scattered about my entire house in my real life. Maybe that’s reaching just a bit, but I’ll go ahead and blame the kids on this one, too! Or is that giving them credit? LOL!

Credit to the kids or not, here’s the latest clean, simple and graphic card…

This card uses the criss-cross label from the Lil’ Inker set, Flags & Tags. I stamped it in aqua, navy and orange on white cardstock and then used various sized circle punches to punch them out. I layered them on the card both with glue and dimensional adhesive and then stamped “Birthday Wishes” {from the same LID set} in navy…making this just the guy birthday card that I need to send off today!

Just a reminder that there is just a day to play along with the June SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY, which I am so pleased to say that Lil’ Inker is sponsoring. I can’t see what you will create! Happy stamping and good luck!

Jen, that is so funny about your husband. Seems I get the same responses from mine-all obligatory and somewhat sarcastic. Ha ha! They just don’t get it. But, I must say I do like that clean and simplistic look too.
