Sketch For You To Try…

Posted by Jen | Bella, blog hopping, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, July 11, 2009

I am going to attempt to make this super short and sweet. Ellie has had another asthmatic episode that put us in the ER for a few hours yesterday morning and then in the evening she had an allergic reaction to either medicine or something she ate and broke out in hives, her lips swelled up. Needless to say, not a fun day! Hopefully today will be better. Send us the good health vibes!

If you made here from Laurie’s blog, I hope that you are having fun on our lil’ bay blog hop for Charmaine. Don’t forget to hop over to Jackie’s blog when you are all done here :) Of course, I made my card from this week’s sketch…

This is the present that I received on Mother’s Day…

Ellie is hoping for a little sister to arrive mid-January. I still have a couple more appointments before my ultrasound. I’ll keep everyone up to date as we know more :)

BittyBloom Happy Day…

Posted by Jen | Bella, cards, challenges | Monday, July 6, 2009

Happy Monday! I am so excited for this week! I get to see one of my bestest friends who is in from out of town tomorrow. Ellie turns 3 on Wednesday! Where did the time go? We have a party planned for Saturday. She has decided that she wants a “bug party.” She loves bugs right now! LOL! I am going to attempt a caterpillar {shaped} cake. Funny, because she doesn’t even like cake {or cookies}, just ice cream. I am sure that we will have tons of cute pics to share, as we have some surprises up our sleeves, too.

As for my card today, it’s a BittyBloom from Stamping Bella {Violet BittyBloom}. The sketch is from last week’s Bellarific challenge

I had to change the location of the sentiment that was given on the sketch to accomodate by darker patterned paper and embellishments. Here is a detail shot…

I will be taking a lot of this week off. I might pop in once during the week, and I will definitely be here on Saturday for another Sketch For You To Try. See ya then! :)

First Saturday of the Month…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards, designer of the month | Saturday, July 4, 2009

First, HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! Be safe, have fun! We are RELAXING at home {yay!}.

So, have I mentioned that I love the first Saturday of the month? Um, yea! I love announcing the new Designer of the Month and having a whole new set of sketches to play with. A HUGE welcome to this month’s Designer of the Month is…

Regina Mangum {The Stampin’ Bean}…

Here’s a little about Regina in her own words…
When Jen contacted me about being a Designer of the Month, I did a little happy dance. I’ve always been a crafter and scrapbooker, but only started making cards a few months ago at the urging of my wonderful mother-in-law, Susan, who is an incredibly talented card-maker. Now, one of my favorite pastimes is to browse different blogs to find new ideas and inspiration, and the SFYTT Sisters’ creations on i{heart}2stamp have definitely joined the ranks of those I love best.

I’m currently a stay-at-home mom to a funny, sweet little rugrat who you will sometimes see featured on my cards. Before he was born, I owned my own publicity company specializing in food-related media after many years working as a book and cookbook publicist for a major publishing house. I can honestly say that watching my son grow up is infinitely more exciting than those days working with celebrity authors and chefs! In order for me to stay at home, my adorable husband got a job in Minnesota, and we moved here just a couple years ago. Both of us are California-born and raised, so you can imagine our shock at our first winter (though I’ve become very adept at shoveling snow). On the bright side, those long, cold winter days are perfect for card-making! Thank you again to Jen and her warm and inviting SFYTT Sisters for this wonderful honor.

Cootie Catcher…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, The Cat's Pajamas, product finds | Friday, July 3, 2009

I saw this idea a few years back on Martha Stewart and have created a few different ones that have had various themes. Lots of fun to make…be ready to time travel to your youth while creating these! When viewing this pic, just pretend that there are nuts inside the little compartments…

I used the new stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas, Happy Camper and paired it with Mr. Campy paper from Cosmo Cricket. This project is fun to customize to any theme. They make great table toppers for baby and bridal showers. I think when I saw them on the Martha site that she had put sprinkles and such in them for an ice cream sundae party…cute, right!?!
