If you are not able to use Mr. Linky, please email me or leave a comment and I will add you. Sometimes it takes a minute {or so} for your entries to show up once entered. GOOD LUCK!

Taylored Expressions Newsletter Project…

Welcome to ABC {Anything But A Card} Friday! I am the featured Baker’s Dozen designer in today’s TE newsletter and I am happy to show you this sweet little Easter project using one of the recessed frames from Taylored Expressions.

This frame uses paper, flowers and a glitter brad from the March/Easter Key Ingredients kit, as well as stamps from the the Sweet Spring set.

How I did it…
First, I painted the frame with white paint and allowed it to dry. I pressed a pieced of the pink stripe paper into/around the recessed opening and rubbed a bone folder along the edges so that I could see where to cut to get a precise panel to fit within the recess. I then used my Nesabilities to cut the scallop and straight edge heart, which are mounted on dimensional glue dots. On top of the heart, I added the flowers, brad and sentiment panel. The bunny was stamped, colored and paper pieced and then placed in the lower right corner. As for my finishing touches, I added the buttons along the edges.
This is meant to be an Easter gift, but could easily be displayed year round on a plate holder or with added magnets and placed on the fridge. You could use multiples of these frames and attach them with ribbon or hinges to make more of a display piece, too. Without trying to sound too cliche, but the possibilities are endless. :)

See you tomorrow for another Sketch For You To Try with a Whiff of Joy blog tart!

Turtles and Cupcakes, Oh My!…

Posted by Jen | Bella, Taylored Expressions/Whimsical Wishes, cards | Thursday, March 19, 2009

I’m getting back into the groove of stamping after being away from it last week. It feels so good to do creative things again! Yesterday I played with some of my newer Bella and Taylored Expressions stamps.

First, here is my Bella card using the Turtle Tots-Love is in the Air stamp for the main image. All of the DP is also from the Bella site. My sweet friend, Susan, picked up the sentiment for me because is matches the font and the wording of my blog…cute, huh!?!? Congrats to Susan, her card is the image shown for the Easter Cards & Crafts Gallery on SCS!

I am also blogging over on the Taylored Expressions’ Stamp A Sweet Impression blog. Here’s a little peek at what’s going on over there.

Gotta keep this short, yet again. Ellie is out of school and all activities this week and there is only so much time I can expect for her to be entertained while I do this. Usually I blog at night and pre-post, but that just wasn’t happenin’ last night. Sleeeepy! Have a great day!

Moxie Fab…

Posted by Jen | cards | Wednesday, March 18, 2009

A couple weeks ago, Cath Edvalson of Paper Crafts magazine contacted me and asked if I would make a card that could be given away during the Stamp It! Cards promotion on the Moxie Fab blog. Ummmmm…let me think about that…HECK YEA! By the way, if you haven’t checked out all the goodies up for grabs, I suggest you run over there…well, after you finish reading this. ;)

I was so thrilled that I got on it right away. Here is my card that will be sent to one {lucky ;)} random commenter…

It was a no-brainer picking out what set I wanted to use…Nite Nite Ellie {as in my little girl, Ellie!} from My Favorite Things. I paper pieced her jammies and used the same paper as the large panel behind the main image panel. The DP is from Papertrey Ink…I just love these dots!!

Here is a pic of the front of the Stamp It! Cards magazine. It really is a great mag and I am happy to say that I have four cards in it.

Be sure to check out the other cards that are up for grabs from these supah fine stampers {click on names to go to their respective blogs}…
Maren Benedict, Kim Kesti, Julia Stainton, Terry Anderson, Angie Hagist, Debbie Olson, Dawn McVey, Melissa Phillips and Natasha Trupp.

ETA: Forgot to link the Paper Crafts Connection blog. Be sure to check them out, as they are doing a dual promotion with the Moxie Fab blog. :)

Just A Note…

I’m clicking my heels and heading home today. San Diego has been more than wonderful, but I miss Tony and our home sweet home…crazy animals {2 dogs and a cat} and all. My suitcase is a little heavier than when I brought it, so navigating and lifting it should prove to be more interesting on this leg of our adventures. I can’t believe that I hit both coasts in a matter of a week. Being landlocked…being where I am in Texas, I feel safe saying that, even though there is a coast…will be fine for a while! Enough about this, let’s get on to all the stampin’ stuff!

Last week, Emily posted this color challenge on the Bella blog. In addition to having to use these colors, we also had to use a button.

Here’s what I came up with the Appley Bowl Huggabugg

Gotta keep this short and sweet because I have lots to do before I take off to home. I think I might be taking tomorrow off of blogging…we’ll see. Have a wonderful day!
