The weather here certainly has been frightful, but I don’t mind because it’s good staying inside and stamping weather! Tonight MFT released several new stamp sets and more of the Die-Namics that everyone is loving so much! I paired the Let it Snowflake Die-Namic with the new sentiment set, Merry and Bright. I decided to go with a {mostly} monochromatic white card with a few pops of light blue to get the “wintery” feel that I was going for. When doing a monochromatic card, I think it’s important to create detail within that color. Here’s a detail shot of some of the detail that I added to this card…

As for those details…
The panel on top of the card base was first embossed. Then, I distressed the edges a little and ran it through the sewing machine with white thread. After I sewed on the card, I did go back with the distresser again since they got a little flattened under the presser foot. The main image/sentiment panel has the sentiment stamped twice each time. The first time, I did it in black and then I stamped it in light blue to create a little shadow. The edges of this panel are also distressed. I cut out all 3 of the snowflakes from the Let it Snowflake Die-Namic with my Cuttlebug, using the thin embossing pad as a shim/pad. Got a perfect cut, the first time, every time doing this. I added Diamond Stickles on top of each of the snowflakes and attached them around the main image/sentiment panel, along with some light blue rhinestones. Rhinestones also adorn the “i” in the sentiment. While this card is pretty much all white, it’s far from boring! I kinda feared that when I started to make it. I guess that’s why “they” say…It’s all in the details!

Tonight’s the night that all the new stamps and Die-Namics are released from My Favorite Things. We still have some MFT Teasers to show you before that hour approaches, though. A full list of peekers can be found on Kim’s blog at 11am EST.

It’s not often that you can mix and match templates, but that’s just what I did here today. I used:

Full Circle Treat Box ($1.95)
Caramel Apple Template (FREE)

to create this…

Instead of using the circles on top, I used apples to make it a teacher gift that would nicely coordinate with the new Clearly Sentimental About Teaching set. The leaves are also cut from the FREE Caramel Apple template and then I free handed the stem and added the twine, button and sentiment flag. Not including the Full Circle Template, which is only $1.95, the product to make this project is less than $2.00…filled with goodies!! These are great teacher appreciation or just because gifties!!

I had a couple questions yesterday about the templates and I just wanted to share this from the MFT site…

Our newest templates come in a zip file with many formats:

* PDF: traditional print & cut version.
* SVG: for use with the Cricut Expression and Make The Cut or Sure Cuts a Lot software
* Ai & DXF: for use with Wishblade, Pazzles, and KNK machines
* GSD: for use with the Silhouette

Note, that not all templates are available as cut files, as well.

Last week I was a little late {ahem, Saturday} for TCP Tuesday, so I thought I better get my rear in gear and learn my days of the week this week! Susan is your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week and she brings you the challenge to use any of your The Cat’s Pajamas GIRLS. You’ll notice that a lot of the DT members are playing with some new stuff we just got in the mail. These stamps and CutUps will be released later this month. More deets on that very soon!

This card uses the upcoming set MERRY WISHES and what do you think about the die cut snowflake? It will all be part of the next release {YAY!}…

I resisted paper piecing her coat and colored her in with my Copics. On the fluffy parts of her hat and gloves, I first put Diamond Stickles and then a thin layer of white Flower Soft. It’s fluffy and sparkly!!…

You’ll also noticed that I reached for my trusty linen thread, again. I LOVE THIS STUFF! I’m not knocking PTI, but I am not a fan of their threads, as they are quite fuzzy and break easily. This linen thread is strong and smooth, creating a nice clean finish to whatever you choose to add it to. And, at only $2.75 for an entire spool, it’s a steal!

Well, I gotta get back to taming the beast. No outside playtime today…cold {not getting above 60!!} and rainy {so far it’s just been sprinkling}. Do you think I can teach a 10 month old to stamp? This could be interesting! Hahahaha!!

Welcome to another MFT Teaser post! Tomorrow night new My Favorite Things stamps and Die-Namics will be released. Today I am featuring one of the new sets, Inspired By Winter, along with my newest template…The Cookie Box, which is available for download NOW for just $1.95.

I was inspired to create a cookie box template after seeing some other kind cookie boxes designed by Martha. Now, mine don’t look just like hers…I’m not like that, ya know, but I do think that you will love this box and certainly get a lot of use from this template…

As you can see, I made a matchy-matchy card to go with this particular box using the Inspired by Winter set…

Happy November Y’all! It’s hard to believe that it’s November when we went trick-or-treating in near 80 degree weather last night! Now that Halloween in behind us, I can start looking forward to all the craziness that comes with the next two months. I can’t believe that I did this time of year last year at the end of my pregnancy. Boy, was I worn out! That also means that Nic will be turning one soon {January}…HOLY COW!…Where did the time go?
