Hop On Over Here…

Welcome to my stop along this holiday inspired TCP Tuesday Blog Hop for The Cat’s Pajamas featuring the ***NEW*** sets from TCP. Hopefully you came here by the way of Julee. If you happened upon here by accident, be sure to start at the beginning on Susan’s blog. Susan has issued this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge… make a December holiday card/project. Play along for a chance to win some serious Cat Cash and the title of “Swanky Stamper.” Susan has all the deets on what you need to do {and ya have until the end of the month…how’s that for a deadline!?!}.

For this challenge I have created 4 holiday tags/gift embellishments using the sets, Give a Little and Penguin Christmas which now available along with more sets, plus new glitter and buttons…

These can be used as either tags on any gift or an embellishment on a bag. I was thinking that they would look great on a kraft sack…ya know the ones that are 6 for a few bucks at the major hobby stores? While I love the cute fancy sacks, it’s hard to buy many of them when they can run $4 a pop.

Ok, so are you ready for some more blog hop happiness? Then hop on over to my pal Amy’s blog. I’ll be enjoying the day off on Tuesday and will be happily creating more holiday goodness. Stay tuned!

First Saturday of the Month…

Welcome to the first Saturday of the Month here on i{heart}2stamp! The first Saturday of the month brings not only a brand new sketch, but also brings aboard a new Designer of the Month {YAY!}. This month I would like to welcome Amy White from the UK!

Here’s a little about Amy in her own words…
I’ve always loved creating things - I have been fascinated with rubber stamps for as long as I can remember (I still have the first one I bought as a kid!). I was introduced to card making about 5 years ago while on holiday, and have been completely hooked ever since. I became a Stampin’ Up demonstrator almost two years ago and I love it! As well as making cards for my workshops and classes, I also make them for my church bookshop, as well as my sister in Australia (my biggest fan!). I get my inspiration from surfing blogs and SCS and I love participating in sketch challenges as it gives me a great starting point. I’m so honoured to be playing along with Jen’s awesome team for November!

Be sure to check out HER BLOG and SCS gallery!

Here’s this week’s sketch…

Here’s my take on it, using some Unity Stamps that I have had for weeks and needed some serious lovin’…

ABC Friday Project…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Holidays, projects | Friday, November 6, 2009

Greetings from beautiful North Texas!! It’s been a while since I have been able to say that, so I figured I should probably take the opportunity to do so! This week has been absolutely gorgeous and I think that the temps even hovered around 80 degrees yesterday…which happened to be the day that I spent working and running around like a crazy woman. I went to my OB yesterday and I am right on track for a bib healthy baby boy in January. I have started to go every other week now and I am sure that baby boy del Muro {still not named} will be here before we know it. Ellie is very excited to be a big sister and we have been trying to prepare her for what babies are really like, but I am fairly certain that she has no clue what she is in for!! LOL! She said that she can’t wait for him to play the prince when she wants to play princesses. That should be amusing!

I actually have an ABC project for you this Friday! It’s not exactly something new and inventive, but I like it all the same. I came across this template a while ago, and consider it my go-to gift card holder.

I made these for the local coffee shop owner. They are made with Old Olive and Bashful Blue cardstock from SU, along with white cardstock from PTI and Basic Grey patterned paper. The coffee stamp set is Let’s Get Together from There She Goes. Finally, I added ribbon that I picked up at Target a year or so ago in their party/wedding section.

These were pretty easy to mass produce, which I normally don’t do. I just cut and prepped each of the pieces, lined ‘em up and popped it all together…viola! Well, lots to do today, so I am jetting off and will be back tomorrow for another SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY…and a wonderful new Designer of the Month. See ya then!!

Cold Nose, Warm Heart…

Happy TCP Tuesday! This week Leigh is your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess and she is challenging you to use this sketch {BTW-she has all the challenge deets, too}…

I took a few creative liberties with this one and ended up with this card, using Polar Holiday
warmheartsketch

I had every intention of creating this as the sketch dictates, but that didn’t quite happen…as you can see. When I was picking what image to use, I came across this one and really wanted to use it on my card. Well, it’s a little big, so I had to reduce the circles on the side. I also added the sentiment label/panel instead of just stamping it on the patterned paper. As you can see, I chose to use non-traditional colors on this holiday card. I am really steering away from the ol’ red and green stand-bys and liking pulling out the would-be summer colors. I don’t know how long it will last, as I just picked up the new Eskimo Kisses 6×6 pad from Basic Grey {so super cuuute}.

So, did everyone have a good Halloween? Here is a pic of Ellie as Snow White next to her lovely painted pumpkins…

She gave up on trick-or-treating pretty quickly, but had a blast handing out candy. She has also worn that dress every spare moment since Saturday, which is fine with me. After all, she waited about 2 months to wear it with no fussing…incredible for a 3 year old if you ask me! I also have to share a conversation that we had last week…

Scene: Getting dressed on a very chilly day.

Me: Ellie, do you want to wear your new long sleeve dress {I had promised her a long sleeve dress that she could wear on colder days since she didn’t have any and she had just picked one out at the store the day before}.
Ellie: Yes, that would be great.
Me: Ok, but you need to wear these pants {leggings} with them because it is so chilly outside.
Ellie: But, I don’t want to wear pants with the dress.
Me: Ok, then you can wear this outfit {shows Ellie alternative choice}. Which one do you choose?
Ellie: This dress, with no pants.
Me: That is not one of your choices {repeats choices} {repeat this part of the conversation more times than anyone would care to count with 10 minutes until having to leave the house}
Ellie: But I won’t look like a princess if I wear pants with a dress.
Me: I think you always look like a princess no matter what you wear. If you want to wear this dress, you need to wear the pants so you stay warm enough. Or you can wear the other outfit. It’s your choice.
Ellie: Mommy, Cinderella doesn’t wear pants with her dresses.
Me: {with slight twinge of sarcasm and a smile on my face} Sweetie, Cinderella doesn’t live in Texas.

In my head: {And, how does she know?… the dress she wears is too long to tell. Plus, this is a girl who wears glass…***on her feet***…let’s try not to take too many cues from her!! OMG child, this should not be this complicated!!}

Let’s just say that she wore the other outfit that day! At least I know that I won’t be having a similar conversation with the next one {well, hopefully LOL!!!}
