I’m Back…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Thursday, May 14, 2009

Hey everyone! It’s been a wonderful week hanging out with my in-laws, but it is nice to get back to my daily grind…and stamping! I’m a little behind on a few projects, but no stress…it’s just a hobby, right?!? Tomorrow I am going to have “Catch Up Friday” instead of my normal “ABC Friday.”

As for today, I am doing TCP Tuesday…on Thursday. The Hipster Hostess With The Mostess this week is Susan, and she has challenged us to use stamps from the Mod Mod World set. This set has a ton of stamps, so it was hard to choose which ones to work with, but finally I made my choices and came up with this…

So, wanna play along with the TCP Tuesday challenge?…EVERYONE can! Here’s what you are gonna want to know…
1. Each a week one of the The Cat’s Pajamas DT Members will host a challenge.
2. The challenges will vary {stamp, color, theme/inspiration, sketch, etc.}
3. You will have until {this} Saturday night to complete the challenge.
4. Link your project on this week’s hostess’ challenge announcement. This week you will link your project on THIS Susan’s blog.
5. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp
6. There will be one winner each month. They will be deemed that month’s Swankiest Stamper and get $25 in Cat’s Cash {money to spend on the TCP site!}.
7. When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword TCPTUES58 for this challenge.
8. Alma will post the entries from the week the following Monday on her blog.
9. The newly crowned Swanky Stamper will be announced on the first of the month and have his/her winning entry posted on The Cat’s Pajamas website where he/she will reign for the entire month.
10. Oh yea…HAVE FUN!

In other news, Alma told us about this Virtual Stamp Convention. It’s all the fun of a convention without the other crazy ladies and sore feet. How cool is that!?! It’s going on today through the 18th. TCP customers get 25% off through the Virtual Stamp Convention… even the already discounted Kitty Kat Pack!

ABC Friday…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Guest Designer, projects | Friday, May 8, 2009

There is a new stamp company on the block!…My Cute Stamps {fun lil’ name!!} I am excited that I am the Guest Designer for MCS this month. Today I have a fun and easy notebook to show you. First, I started off with the Spunky Nature set and made my own pattern paper…good idea in this economy!! I then matted it and stitched around the edges and then adhered it to another piece of cardstock, which is essentially the cover to the notebook.

To jazz up the cover a little, I used the EK Success Scalloped Scallop border punch {I loveeee this punch!!}. The strip with my name and the buttons were kinda an afterthought when I wanted to make it a little more personal. The notebook is bound with my Bind-It-All, but if you do not have a BIA you can still make these…easy peasy. In the office section of Wal-Mart they sell binder rings and you can punch holes in your covers and papers and then bind it with the rings. Just another sweet and simple gift for teachers or anyone else.

Alright, I’m outta here for now. See you tomorrow for another Sketch For You To Try. I’ll be taking some days off next week as I hang out with some family that is coming in today from out of town.

Bellas & Digging In My Stash…

Posted by Jen | Bella, cards | Thursday, May 7, 2009

Like most crazy stampers/paper crafters we have a stack of pattern paper that we love…and it sits there. So, I went digging to see what papers I could use on a card with SavvyShoppabella and I found this cute pink paper that I got a Target a year or two ago. I paired it up with the polka dot paper that I got from Stamping Bella HERE {it’s the reverse side of the Bowl Full of Cherries paper}. This is what I came up with…

Can you tell that the sentiment is embossed? That was actually a last second idea. I stamped the sentiment in Brilliance Graphite Black, just after I juiced up my ink pad. I could see that it was pretty wet, so I quickly dumped some clear embossing powder on and I just love the way it came out. It stands out just a little more, especially since it’s on pattern paper. For my finishing touch, I added the floral embellishment along with flatback pearls.

Well, I kept on going with that same pattern paper and made yet another Bella, well actually it’s from the Ketto line, card. I’m totally digging this layout, too! You can see that I used the same paper and embellishment {Maya Road flower topped with a paper flower that I picked up long long ago}.

“Fowled” Up Color Challenge…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Wednesday, May 6, 2009

NOTE: I got a lot of comments about Mr. Linky missing off the SFYTT post from Saturday. I am not sure what happened, but I am pretty sure that it was something on the Mr. Linky side of things. Anyways, it is all fixed now. :) If you left a link in a comment, please link it under ML. Thanks!!!

Happy TCP Tuesday…on Wednesday! When Toni originally issued the color challenge of Navy, Green and White, I thought it sounded like fun. Somewhere between then and sitting down to create the card, I lost the “navy” part of the color challenge and ended up with just blue…light blue. OOOPS! Anyways, this is what I came up with…

These are the colors that I was supposed to use…
