Taylored Expressions Newsletter Project…

Welcome to ABC {Anything But A Card} Friday! I am the featured Baker’s Dozen designer in today’s TE newsletter and I am happy to show you this sweet little Easter project using one of the recessed frames from Taylored Expressions.

This frame uses paper, flowers and a glitter brad from the March/Easter Key Ingredients kit, as well as stamps from the the Sweet Spring set.

How I did it…
First, I painted the frame with white paint and allowed it to dry. I pressed a pieced of the pink stripe paper into/around the recessed opening and rubbed a bone folder along the edges so that I could see where to cut to get a precise panel to fit within the recess. I then used my Nesabilities to cut the scallop and straight edge heart, which are mounted on dimensional glue dots. On top of the heart, I added the flowers, brad and sentiment panel. The bunny was stamped, colored and paper pieced and then placed in the lower right corner. As for my finishing touches, I added the buttons along the edges.
This is meant to be an Easter gift, but could easily be displayed year round on a plate holder or with added magnets and placed on the fridge. You could use multiples of these frames and attach them with ribbon or hinges to make more of a display piece, too. Without trying to sound too cliche, but the possibilities are endless. :)

See you tomorrow for another Sketch For You To Try with a Whiff of Joy blog tart!

Somebunny Loves You…

Posted by Jen | Taylored Expressions/Stamp A Sweet Impression, cards | Sunday, March 15, 2009

When I left Dallas the other day it was cold, windy and rainy…a far cry from the spring weather that I am craving {and getting here in San Diego}. I am loving all the spring and Easter stuff that is in the stores…paper and not paper related. Fortunately, I do have lots {and lots} of spring-y paper, including the new line from Making Memories…Flower Patch {CUUUTE!}. I paired that paper up with one of the new images from the Taylored Expressions’ set Sweet Spring.

Instead of using the patterned paper on the larger panel, I used it as the scalloped rectangle and did a solid color for the larger panel {embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder}. I also used the patterned paper for the cupcake paper {paper pieced}. My finishing touches include the acrylic accent that acts as the cherry on top and the three buttons to the left of the sentiment {also part of the Sweet Spring set}.

Have a happy Sunday!

Taylored Expressions Release Day…

Over the past couple of days, myself and the rest of the Taylored Expressions Design Team have been showing projects featuring new Taylored Expressions stamps that are AVAILABLE NOW! I had so much fun playing with these stamps when I first got them, that I still have 2 more cards to show you today.

This card is actually the first on that I did. When I get new stamps I sit down with the stamps, my sketch book and a cup of coffee/tea and jot down all the ideas and sketches that come into my brain. When I go back to these notes I pull a bunch of things together and make a card/project. Not only was this the first card that I did, but it was also the first sketch that came to mind…

Of course, I had to use some Kraft paper with a couple of cards. The first one that I did with Kraft was the owl card from 2 days ago and this time I paired it up with Cuppie…

Both of these cards feature products from the new Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit. I LOOOVE the flowers that are in it…so cute and they make the perfect addition to sentiment panels, or do well on their own. As always, check out the eye candy rest of the Design Team came up with!

See ya here tomorrow with an easy Easter ABC project! :)

Sweet Spring…

This is my second post for today! Be sure to scroll down so you don’t miss the MFT blog hop post. :)

Several months ago, when Taylor initially asked me to be on her design team and showed me these fabby cupcakes, I was so excited. Her cupcake obsession is almost contagious because of all the fun images that have come out, and this release is no different. Yesterday, I told you that there are 3 new Taylored Expressions sets coming out and I showed you stuff from 2 of them. The final one is in the spotlight today, Sweet Spring. This set features a variety of spring and Easter images with Cuppie as the “main character.” Here he {she?} is enjoying some yummy jellybeans…

The main image was stamped on Taylored Expressions’ Choice Snow White cardstock and then mounted on Frosted Kiwi cardstock. The Frosted Kiwi cardstock, along with the ricrac, patterned paper, sheer flower and brad are all part of the new Key Ingredients Kit that comes out tomorrow. The rest of the DT also has some wonderful eye candy/sneak peeks for you to see. Be sure to check them out! Links to their blogs can be found HERE on the Taylored Expressions site.

Happy Valentine’s Day Sketch…

Happy Valentine’s Day! Here is a random Valentine’s Day fact for you…

In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentines would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on your sleeve now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling.

Being that it is Saturday, that means I have another SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY! By the way, if you want the badge below CLICK HERE.
