Almost ONE!!!!…

Posted by Jen | cards | Monday, June 18, 2007

I cannot believe it…Ellie will be ONE next month. Want to know what else I can’t believe?…that I am crazy enough to have TWO parties for this child! One is going to be in sunny San Diego with Tony’s and my family and one will be here in Texas with some local friends. I was soooo close to just buying some cutsie invites off the internet, but realized that I would never hear the end of it if I did not make them. Ellie’s room is done all in ladybugs, so of course, I had to carry on with this theme to her invites. After all, it’s one of the reasons I “had to have” this PTI set! This is the invite to the San Diego party. I think that I am going to go pink for the local one, so stay tuned for that one :)

A Challenge…

Posted by Jen | cards, challenges | Saturday, June 16, 2007

Ok, so I haven’t completely given up on posting some challenges on Saturday. Today’s challenge is a dual challenge…both a sketch and color combo challenge that is. The card that I made for this challenge is going to go to our neighbors that just had a sweet baby girl.
There are Diamond Stickles on the center diaper pin and the actual pin part is colored in with a silver Gelly Roll pen. The scallops were made with my corner rounder punch.

The Challenge:
Create a 4.25″ square card using the same layout as I have shown. Where I have the Riveting sentiment, you can have any embellishment.
In addition to using this layout, your challenge is to use Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery.

Look Familiar?…

Posted by Jen | events, projects | Friday, June 15, 2007

Does this look familiar to you? That’s because it matches the card that I made yesterday {Suzy won it, just like she wished for!}. This is one of the projects that we did at my Stamp Camp. I usually demo a 2-4-6-8 at workshops, but I haven’t done one at Stamp Camp. I like the size of the flourish in the Baroque Motifs set and it made for a great stamp for the box {which is really 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10}. The bestest part about Stamp Camp was that my BFF is in town and got to come to this one!! Afterward we went for some wasabi induced sushi…i{heart}sushi!
Sorry to post so late, and I am going to cut this short. I am off to clean up the craziness in my house. I will try to post a challenge tomorrow…hmmm…maybe a sketch and color combination! **wink**

Another Day, More New Stuff…

Posted by Jen | cards | Thursday, June 14, 2007

Just wanted to share some more SU! stuff that I got with my preview order. I think that River Rock has been getting a bad name as being an ugly color, but it is really very elegant when paired with black. For this card, I did color on color stamping with the River Rock Classic ink pad and River Rock cardstock. The Very Vanilla panel is also stamped with River Rock and I love how it shows through the black organdy ribbon.
This is card that I am using as a door prize {with a coupon inside} for tonight’s Stamp Camp. I’ll be sharing those projects with you later this week. Have a wonderful day!

New My Favorite Things Stamp Sets…

Posted by Jen | cards | Wednesday, June 13, 2007

More new stuff today!

Today is the release of TWO stamp sets from My Favorite Things. I know it’s hard to think “Autumn” when the sun is blazing and kids are running through the sprinklers, but I think it’s great that Kim is releasing these now so you can get a head start on your fall cards.
Halloween is not exactly one of my favorite holidays to celebrate, but it is certainly one of my favorite holidays to create for. I love all the images and colors! The new MFT set, Fright Night, has oodles of fun images to work with. Here are 4 cards I created with this set. The one with the spider is one of my favorite cards I have ever made. I know it’s not crazy fancy, but something about it makes me like it so.

The other set that is being released is Falling For You. The girl from Time For The Bubbly is now splashing around in a pile of leaves. The sentiment “Falling For You” is just a perfect match!

The first card is a pop up card. I got the measurements from Jody’s site, but modified them just a smidge. Here is how I created the pop-up card:

Card Base 4 ¼ X 11
Score at 1, 2 ¾, 3 ¾, 7 ¼, 8 ¼, 10
Cut a slit at 5 5 ½, leaving about ½ inch on either side of the slit.

Bases for pop up pieces of card stock:
3 X 5 ¼, 3 ½ X 2 ¼
Subsequent layers will be smaller as needed.
