More New Stuff…

Posted by Jen | cards | Tuesday, June 12, 2007

I told you this week was going to be all about new stuff. Yesterday was new SU! stuff, and today I get to give you a sneakie peakie of one of the new sets that My Favorite Things is releasing TOMORROW. Be sure to check in here and the MFT site tomorrow for more pics of these fun sets!

Today, I also want to share with you my new octopus and sentiment stamp from Gina K. I just love this lil’ gal (guy?) and the sentiment goes great with my somewhat quirky sense of humor. As soon as I saw this stamp, I had a card idea in mind. It was the perfect card, so cute, great embellishments….

This is not it. **chuckle**

What I had in my head and what came out on paper…two very different things. That’s okay, live, learn and create more fun things!
Stay tuned for more new things this week! Happy Stamping!

A New Week, Some New Stuff…

Posted by Jen | cards | Monday, June 11, 2007

This week is going to be all about new stuff!!

Today I get to share some new SU! stuff and later this week, I am going to share new stuff from My Favorite Things. MFT is releasing TWO new sets this week!! I also have some new punches to play with and a couple Gina K. stamps to add to my collection.
On Friday my new SU! stuff. The UPS guy didn’t come until 6:30. I am not exactly what can be described as a patient person, so this was a true test! I was mostly excited about the new colors. I cannot say enough good things about Purely Pomegranate. I so {heart} this color! I really like all the other colors, but this one just popped out at me! Here is the card I made with the In The Spotlight new hostess set and the new In Colors, Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi. Not exactly the tastiest combination to the palette, but it sure looks good in ink and paper!

Get Out Those Shades…

This is a *B*R*I*G*H*T* card! I am really not a fan of really bright colors in general. I don’t wear them, my house is not decorated in them and for the most part, I don’t use them too much in my crafting. I guess being out in the hot summer sun on Thursday inspired me otherwise. Yesterday and today’s cards both have some HOT colors. The background is stamped in Versamark and the edges are sponged with Pink Passion. The scalloped circle is one of the new ones from PaperTreyInk. I might **need** to get the smallest one now. LOL!!!

So, this is my challenge to you:

Use bright colors in combination with each other to create a card or other project. Be sure to post a link to a picture of your challenge creation to this post. Links back here are appreciated.

I used to post guidelines for these challenges so I would not a get a ton of questions. I am not doing that anymore, because the bottom line of the whole thing is to just HAVE FUN with it!

Dimensions: Standard
Stamps: Birthday Best, Seeing Spots, Paisley
Paper: Pink Passion, Only Orange, Summer Sun, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Pink Passion, Only Orange, Summer Sun, Basic Black, Versamark
Other: Scallop Punch, Round Punch, Ribbon, Signo Pen, Dimensionals

A Toast To You…

I just love these stick figure stamps by Wordsworth. This is one of the stamps that I received in my Stamping Royalty prize package. The sentiment actually fits perfectly in the large SU! oval punch, but I decided to leave it flat after some trial and error. I really should have titled this post “Dear Jami…” Jami believes that more is more…she even named her {awesome} blog by that title. {hugs to Jami…who is currently serving jury duty!} It is true that the details make the difference. When I was making this card it seemed as though I just kept going and going like the Energizer bunny on an embellishing kick.

First it was the flower in the circles, then it was the rhinestone added to that flower, then some ribbon, on to some paper piercing {I restrained from faux eyelets} and finally some real eyelets to set off the main image. Oh, and don’t forget the Fruit Punch Stickles on the Martini glass…and the dots on her dress! LOL! Anyways, I had a lot of fun with this card and can’t wait to send it to someone that deserves a toast in their name.
My new SU! stuff is coming today. I think my scalloped punches will be here as well… yipppeeeee! I plan on posting a challenge tomorrow, so I’ll see you then!
Here are a couple pics of the animals we saw at the zoo. Click on the images for a larger view. The first pic cracks me up! It’s a gorilla laying on his back with his feet up on the rocks. He has his hand over his head as if to say, “Oh me, I just can’t take it anymore…”

Water Girl…

Posted by Jen | random ramblings | Thursday, June 7, 2007

Well, I don’t have any stamped goods to share today, but I did want to share some recent pics. The other night Tony and I gave Ellie a sippy cup of water…minus the sippy part. She had a lot of fun getting water all over her and the floor. Can you see how wet she got?? She is almost a year old now. WOW! Time flies! We’re off to the zoo today with some friends. I will have stamped stuff back here tomorrow. See you then :)
