Taylored Expressions Blog Hop…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, Slice, blog hopping, product finds, projects, taylored expressions | Friday, November 27, 2009

Did you gobble ’til you wobbled? How many naps snuck in there after devouring your turkey feast? Well, I hope you had a good one! Since I am pre-posting this, I can’t tell ya how everything went on Turkey day yet. I hope to have stories and pics to share soon!

So, maybe you gobbled, then you wobbled, but now you are HOPPING! Yep, you are right smack in the middle of the Taylored Expressions Black Friday Blog Hop, so if you happened upon here on accident, you might just want to rewind and start at the beginning {there’s a full list of participants below}.

Taylor has challenged all of us to embellish the Perfect Pacakage box {which also comes in a square shape!}. So I opened it up {folds completely flat} and stared at it. Hmmm…what do I want to do with this? Yes, it fit standard cards perfectly. Hence the name, Perfect Package. However, I wasn’t putting cards in there. I ended up putting a scarf that I am giving to my secret sister in there, so I wanted to give it more of a gift box/wrapped feel and this is what I came up with…

I don’t know that this is my “traditional” style, but I gotta say that I am pretty darn happy the way that it came out! The green numbered paper is from Making Memories and the numbered note card is from October Afternoon. I added a Nestabilities die cut scalloped circle to be the base of the “4u,” which was cut from the Think Pink Slice design card. I LOVE the new design cards that have the matting/shadow feature.

So what are your shopping plans? Mine?…none! Well, at least I am not going out anywhere, but that’s not to say that I’m not making Tony brave the crowds. He’s 6′7″ and people generally don’t push him around. You would think that people would get out of the way for a beached whale…giant pregnant lady, like myself, but NOPE! Between all the hormones and general uncomfortableness, I am likely to say something that’s not so nice should someone cross my path! LOL!

If your plans include online shopping, don’t forget to check out the BLACK FRIDAY DEALS at TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS!!…
–> 15% off everything in the store {use code TEBlackFriday at checkout}
–> up to 50% on JustRite products
–> Buy 2, get 1 free Taylor’s Tiny Twinkles
–> Don’t forget to check out the new shirts and aprons, too {so cute!!!!…and if I wasn’t the size of a beached whale, I would totally be checking out with one of the brown sleeved shirts!!}

Here’s the hop list. Have fun hopping along to JEN TAPLER’S BLOG! See you tomorrow for another SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY {this one will get ya thinking, too!!}

New Moon Blog Hop…

Posted by Jen | blog hopping, cards | Friday, November 20, 2009

Greetings on New Moon release day! While I am a fan, I have to admit that I probably won’t be able to see the movie until next week at the earliest because of this and that going on today and this weekend…including COPIC CLASSES at Scrapper’s Boutique. Maybe I will see you there!

So, are you hopping along? If so, you should have arrived here from Pam’s blog and when you leave here, hop on over to Dani’s blog. If you happened here on a whim, you can see the hop from the beginning from the Twilight Tuesday blog.

My Twilight inspired stamp set didn’t arrive in time for me to use it for this hop, so I fell back upon my handy Slice Machine and used the Spook Alley design card to make this card…

Detail Shot…

The houndstooth paper is from Jenni Bowlin and the apple note card is from a die cut sheet from October Afternoon. I wanted to incorporate the apple somehow because it is the Twilight series after all. I also wanted to incorporate a moon into the card because of the “New Moon” release today. I know my moon isn’t a new moon technically {for anyone that wanted to correct me}, but at least you can tell this is a moon. :)

Alright ladies, it’s time for you to keep on hopping over to Dani’s blog to see what Twilight goodness she has for you!

Hop On Over Here…

Welcome to my stop along this holiday inspired TCP Tuesday Blog Hop for The Cat’s Pajamas featuring the ***NEW*** sets from TCP. Hopefully you came here by the way of Julee. If you happened upon here by accident, be sure to start at the beginning on Susan’s blog. Susan has issued this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge… make a December holiday card/project. Play along for a chance to win some serious Cat Cash and the title of “Swanky Stamper.” Susan has all the deets on what you need to do {and ya have until the end of the month…how’s that for a deadline!?!}.

For this challenge I have created 4 holiday tags/gift embellishments using the sets, Give a Little and Penguin Christmas which now available along with more sets, plus new glitter and buttons…

These can be used as either tags on any gift or an embellishment on a bag. I was thinking that they would look great on a kraft sack…ya know the ones that are 6 for a few bucks at the major hobby stores? While I love the cute fancy sacks, it’s hard to buy many of them when they can run $4 a pop.

Ok, so are you ready for some more blog hop happiness? Then hop on over to my pal Amy’s blog. I’ll be enjoying the day off on Tuesday and will be happily creating more holiday goodness. Stay tuned!

Believe Blog Hop Sketch For You To Try…

Posted by Jen | Verve, blog hopping, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, October 24, 2009

Welcome to my post along the Verve Stamps Believe Blog Hop. If you happened here by chance, be sure to start at Julee’s blog. Hopefully you hopped along here from my sweet friend, Susan’s, blog. And, when you are done here, you will hop hop hop on over to the super talented Betty, one of the Verve Stamps’ Guest Designers this month. Don’t worry, I will link her on the bottom of this post, too. I just end up having a lot of links and I don’t want hers to get lost in the shuffle.

Well, as you know it’s Saturday, so that means that I have a SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY. I think that you all will like this one and do A-MAAAA-ZING creations with it…

sfytt102409-1

This is my creation for both the hop and the sketch…

believehop_sfytt1024

This card uses the new set, Believe {hence the “Believe” blog hop}. For each of these sets sold, Verve will donate $10 to Susan G. Komen to help find a cure. This is a subject close to my heart. As many of you know, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. A year ago she completed her chemo and has been cancer free since then. I know that other women…moms, sisters, friends…are not as fortunate and have lost their courageous battles. While this is a wonderful set to use to give to people fighting the fight, it is also a great set to use when you are trying to sell items to make money for walks and other fundraisers. I’d like to think that it can keep on giving.

In addition to this set, several other Verve sets were released last night. You can see them HERE.

Designer of the Month, Lorelie Kim, created this darling card using the SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY…

Ok, so here come all those links that I mentioned before…

If you are hopping along on the Verve Stamps Believe Blog Hop, hop on over to BETTY and see what beautiful creation she has to share with you. Oh, by the way…
There is a special gift hidden along our hop for one lucky commenter, so if you see something you really love, give a little shout out and you just might win a $30 gift certificate to Verve!

If you are looking for some more inspiration and eye candy for this week’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY, please check out my SFYTT sisters…

Kelly Lunceford
Susan Liles
Leigh O’Brien

When uploading to online galleries, please use the SFYTT so we can see all the creations all together.

Also, I have to moderate some comments, so if yours does not show up right away…DON’T WORRY, I will go in a couple times a day and approve comments. Thanks!

TCP Release Blog Hop…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, blog hopping, cards, challenges, projects | Monday, October 19, 2009

Hello there! Hopefully you made it here via Tracy’s blog along the blog hop. If you happened to get here by chance, be sure to start at the beginning {on Toni’s blog}. Toni’s the Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week and she is bringing you an awesome inspiration challenge {gotta love anything that is inspired by Pottery Barn goodness!}.

Well, it’s time for another release from Alma and that crazy cat {Sprinkle}, dog {Poochie} and penguin {yet to be named} that make up The Cat’s Pajamas entourage. For the hop I created a little Pie Tasting invite, or possible a little note to attach to a pie…
