Boo Bubbles…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, projects | Friday, October 10, 2008

I am pretty sure that as soon as I saw this idea in a magazine, I was off doing my own. Talk about instantaneous inspiration in action! Since then, there are a few blogs and/or galleries that they have popped up in. One that comes to mind is Bechy Oehlers. Be sure to check out Becky’s version HERE.

Are these not the cutest???!!! I know that a lot of parents are steering away from sweets on Halloween and I am taking that into consideration for Ellie’s class treats. These are simple wedding favor bubbles that have been dressed up with ribbon, a Martha Stewart sticker and a cuuuuuuuute little spider from K & Co. All of the products are from Mike’s…I know, I know…I keep saying that I don’t like it there, but it’s the ONLY place remotely close to me. Plus, these turned out ok! ;)

Tomorrow I will announce the winner of the Paper Crafts Special Edition magazine, the MFT case and 2 retiring MFT sets. Good Luck!!! Thank you so much to everyone that has participated! It’s so much fun to see all these cards!! A new sketch is just around the corner!

Rain Or Shine…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards | Thursday, October 9, 2008

Last week Susan and I went to the new Michael’s in town. It’s totally re-vamped and has a TON of paper crafting stuff. I still don’t {heart} Mike’s, but this is a step up from the old Mike’s for sure. One of my finds was this GREAT black and white polka dot paper from Heidi Swapp. I could hoard this forever! It is so me! I just did a bunch of cards for publication and the only pattern paper I used was polka dot. Hmmmm…time to think outside the dots! Just not quite yet! Here is a card that I made for part of the MFT door prize at the Austin Shoebox Swap last weekend…

As you may notice, there is actually more than one polka dot paper here. Maybe it’s faux pas, but I love me some polkas and it just went on this card. The pink and white polka dot paper is from American Crafts…my most favoritest paper people on earth! The stamps used are from the Rain or Shine set from My Favorite Things.

See you tomorrow for a kid friendly ABC Friday. You still have time to enter to win a blog tart HERE and enter the TCP Tuesday Challenge HERE. Later Gators!

Personal Pee Pee Cheerleader…

Posted by Jen | Ellie, Family, random ramblings | Wednesday, October 8, 2008

In case you were wondering about the title, yes, you read it correctly.

First, I have a question. When is a child officially potty-trained? For all intents and purposes, I would consider Ellie potty trained. She gave up diapers, she tells us when she needs to go, she takes responsibility for her accidents {few and far between}, she is dry through naps {still working on through the night}. All that being said, I still think I am going through the potty training process. Just wondering if there was an official end to it?…maybe when she goes through the night, or is able to get up and go by herself in the middle of the night? Something tells me that there is no definitive answer.

So, being that she is now going pee pee {and the other} on the potty, I have made myself into a “Pee Pee Cheerleader.” Yes folks, I even do a dance and sing a song with her when the pee hits the toilet water. Why I am putting this on a public blog, I do not know. LOL ;)

Sorry if this is TMI {too much info}, but I feel that I have to share it. Yesterday after she went, I had to go. As most of you moms know, there really is no point to closing the door. So there we are… Me on the pot and her staring at me {of course, the dog was peeking in through the open doorway, too!}. Then, at the appropriate time, she does the pee pee dance and song for me. Wow, I think, my very own “Pee Pee Cheerleader”! To quote late night commercials…”Wait, there’s more…” Not only did I get the dance and song, she runs up to me and says “I’m so proud of you, high five.” And to think I used to work in an executive office. If they could see me now! LOL!

I leave you with this. My darling Personal Pee Pee Cheerleader admiring her own work just before “it goes to its new home.” {yep, that’s a quote!}

PS- Yesterday I was asked how Grandmama was pronounced. It’s just Grandma with an extra “ma” at the end. Or add “Mama” to Grand. ;)
