Spoooooooooky, TCP Style…
Oct 7th, 2008 by Jen
Before I dive into the meat of this post, I just want to say that Austin was great. I had a wonderful time hanging out with my brother and his family. {Pics to come} I didn’t stay for the entire swap on Saturday, but really enjoyed meeting new people and seeing “old” friends.
I know that I have mentioned it in the past, so I am sorry if I sound like a broken record. Halloween has never been my favorite holiday. I am not that much of a fan of getting dressed up or doing the whole Halloween party thing. Over the last few years, I have become increasingly more interested in Halloween. I LOVE Halloween images and all things Halloween-y when it comes to paper, embellishments and all other things stamping and paper crafting related. I am also VERY excited for Ellie and her Halloween experiences. She already has her costume and Grandmama is flying out for that weekend. It should be great fun! Of course there will be pics, so stay tuned!
For the last twenty-seven weeks Tuesday have had a new meaning for me…TCP Tuesday!! Today marks the 28th week of this weekly celebration, and I am glad to say that I am your Hipster Hostess With The Mostess. I have a fun inspiration challenge for you. Check out this pic…

Here’s my sample. You can see that I played off the Halloween theme with the black and white color scheme. Feel free to take from the inspiration pic what you will. Just have fun!

EVERYONE can play and this is what you are gonna wanna know…
1. Each a week one of the The Cat’s Pajamas DT Members will host a challenge.
2. The challenges will vary {stamp, color, theme/inspiration, sketch, etc.}
3. You will have until {this} Saturday night to complete the challenge.
4. Link your project on this week’s hostess’ challenge announcement. This week you will link your project ON THIS POST.
5. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp}
6. There will be one winner each month. They will be deemed that month’s Swankiest Stamper and get $25 in Cat’s Cash {money to spend on the TCP site!}.
7. When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword TCPTUES28 for this challenge.
8. Alma will post the entries from the week the following Monday on her blog.
9. The newly crowned Swanky Stamper will be announced on the First of the Month and have his/her winning entry posted on The Cat’s Pajamas website where he/she will reign for the entire month.
10. Oh yea…HAVE FUN!
One of the things I miss the most about not having a child that is Ellie’s age is the whole costume thing! It was always so much fun, and I made their costumes myself for many years. Now they’re too old (so they say!)
Cute card, Jen! The black, gray and white color scheme is so cool… it almost looks like a black and white photo like your inspiration!
wow- what a great card- I’m gonna have to try this one!!
Cute card! Okay, I gotta ask — how do you pronounce Grandmama? Is it “Grand-ma-MAH” (all fancy like?) or “Grand-MA-ma” (all country like?) Just curious
Super cute monochromatic card!
I’m sure when I was little I enjoyed Halloween but as I got older and didn’t do the trick or treating thing, it wasn’t special. Now with Chloe enjoying the holiday it makes it a lot more enjoyable again. Although I am looking forward to her getting a little older and staying home to hand out the candy….lol
Can’t wait to see what Ellie will be this year!
I love this!!! I’ve always liked Halloween though I do not get into it as much as some. I do enjoy it a lot more now that I have two little boys who love to dress up. Thanks for the challenge!!
Wow- I agree, it looks like a b/w photo of your card! That is really cool! I would never have thoguht to try that! Love it!
So cute, Jen! I love the inspiration you drew from the picture! So fun!
I love that picture!!! I am big on Halloween and Fall. I decorate inside and outside of my house with lights, witches, ghosts, and lot’s of’pumpkins. Last, I counted at least 40 pumpkins. I dress every year and throughout the month of Halloween. Just for fun. I love it. Can’t ya tell? Have a great day!
What a great card!
This is awesome Jen!! Love it!!
I love your pee pee commentary, Jen! I suppose I’ll be going through it with George in a couple of years!
Love this Halloween card and your inspiration…as always–a great sketch!
