Lots of Pics For MFT Release Day…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards, projects | Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Hello! I’m sure as you have been perusing blogs and/or the gallery, you have come across some projects using the upcoming release from My Favorite Things. There are 3 sets that are being released tonight: Gone To The Dogs, Friends Furever, and Going Places. Today I have samples using the Friends Furever and Going Places sets. Also, don’t forget that tonight is the Release Party in the MFT Forum on SCS. The party is from 9-11 {EST} and during that time we will announce the Guest Designer challenge…are you ready!?!

Here is a photo album that I made using the Going Places set. This started out as a travel journal, but I messed it up in my Bind-It-All and had to create my own binding. I still think it turned out ok, but I have to admit that I was really hoping for a journal. The inside holds a cheapy photo holder from the $1 store that is held down with several strips of red line tape.

This is card using the Going Places set. My inspiration was Elle Woods from Legally Blonde - LOL…

Ring Of Flowers…

Welcome to another TCP Tuesday. I missed last week’s challenge while I put my stamp room back together, but saw all the AWESOME creations. I was sure to make a card this week, though. This week’s Hipster Hostess With The Mostess is Katie and her challenge to YOU is to use the Ring of Flowers stamp. I just added this one to my collection and was excited to see how I could use it. I really like how it turned out.

Hey, Where’s Tony?…

Posted by Jen | i{heart}thestamper, random ramblings | Sunday, May 4, 2008

Hi everyone! Tony usually is here blogging the first Sunday of the month. However, he was with Ellie all day yesterday while I ran off and played {thanks, hon!!}. He has 2 finals tomorrow and 2 more on Tuesday and yet another on Thursday. Needless to say, blogging was not at the top of his list…go figure!

He’ll be back next week {right, hon?} with some weight off his shoulders and some wit and wisdom to share.

A Sketch And An Introduction…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, May 3, 2008

Today is the Arlington Shoebox Swap…YAY!! It is an ALL DAY stamping event that is bunches of fun. Lots of people are flying and driving in for it. I hope to have pics for you next week of all the stamping goodness.

I don’t have a lot of time to write, as I am supposed to be at breakfast with the girls in just a few short hours {from me writing this}. I did manage to get a sample done, which I can say is something that I am proud of for today. LOL!! Today is the first Saturday of the month, so I am happy to introduce you to the new Guest Designer, Toni Whitnell.

A little about Toni in her own words:
I’m a happily married empty-nester, currently living in Alberta Canada. I’ve been stamping for about 10 years, and blogging for about a year and a half. I work part time- for a major greeting card company! They have no idea I haven’t sent anyone a store bought card in years!

Welcome, Toni!!

Here is the sketch for this week…

Also, check out more samples from my stampin’ buds…Amy, Carole, Shannan and Susan. {Amy…wish you were here with us!!}

It’s A Bloomin’ ABC Friday…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, projects | Friday, May 2, 2008

TGIF and welcome back for another installment of ABC Friday. Tomorrow is the Arlington Shoebox Swap and I can actually say that I am a little more prepared today than I was yesterday. Last night I went to Susan’s and we cut our cards. During the day I was busy working away at my door prize. Last year I gave away a bunch of alterables, but this year I actually put something together…

The base of this is an Anchor Hocking vase, although when I describe this to people I have been saying, “Ya know, like a beta bowl with ruffled edges.” Personally, I think that makes more sense. I filled it to the brim with caramels and caramel filled Dove chocolates. I hope the person that wins this likes caramel! The flower is a wooden flower that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I covered it with DCWV Nana’s Nursery paper {bare with me here, I just love that stuff!!}. The outer edges of the flower are covered with baubles {these are the ones that I got at Michael’s in the floral dept.}. The lettering is from Cuttlebug and the flowers are Primas. Here are a few more shots of the flower…

I’ll be back tomorrow with a Sketch For You To Try and an introduction to the newest Guest Designer. Have a happy Friday!!
