A Little of This And a Little of That, And Some Cards To Share…
OMG STRESS!! This weekend is the Arlington Shoebox Swap and I am SO not prepared. I know that everything will get done, but time is flying! YIKES!
Anywhoooo…
I wanted to give some commentary on your comments and suggestions that I asked for. First, THANK YOU for your feedback!! It seems that most people are fine with keeping all the products/info in the blog blurb, but some of you want to have a recipe at the end. I am still going back and forth, but I think that I am going to put the recipe at the end…given that I have time (i.e. not today). As for those that want to see more techniques…I am really not much of a technique type stamper and I will be super honest in saying that I am not going to go out of my way to show techniques. There are a couple reasons for this. First, my style is mostly simple and clean and often does not lend itself to lots of techniques. Second, my stamping time is limited and some techniques take a lot of time…and are messy. For those of you that want to see more 3D/altered items…I am really trying to do this. I started doing ABC Friday because I LOVE 3D items, but again, time is limited. I “make” myself do something other than a card once a week. If I can swing the time and have the inspiration and product, I will most certainly post more 3D items. I really enjoyed hearing that you like reading about Ellie and the fam. I will definitely keep this up! Of course, Tony will continue to be here on the first Sunday of the month. YAY!!!…and guess what this Sunday is!?!
There were a couple of questions regarding my stamp room…
1. The paper holder is from Staples. I actually had it as an organizer in my classroom when I taught, but I must say that it made a great transition into my stamp room!!
ETA: {thank you Kathy for this info!} It’s called a “24 Compartment Literature Holder” and the brand is Fellowes, $59.99
2. The ribbon organizer is from Target. At my Target it is near where the laundry baskets and such are. They come in a package that has a ribbon organizer and “stuff” compartment with a lid. Tony surprised me with some of these for Christmas a couple of years ago. I have since purchased a few more as my ribbon collection grew and grew {and grew and grew}.
Ok, now onto today’s cards. Yesterday, I told you that I would have 2. OMG!…why did I say that? I have NO time! LOL!!!
Oh, woe is me, I had to stamp a little more…for fun! LOL!
The first card uses this week’s Mojo Monday sketch on Julee’s blog. I used the new Verve set, Father Figure. It is SO not like me to break out the Kraft paper and the Craft pad, but I did it. It just screams “male” to me. LOL!…Although Heather Nichols makes it look GORGEOUS and pretty every time she uses it. I also used the SU! Houndstooth background stamp {remind me why they retired this!} and the CHF Weave backgrounder. The finishing touches include the pewter brads, ribbon {no idea where I got this…sorry!} and paper piercing.

The second card uses one of the fairies from the chichiboulie line at Stamping Bella. If you haven’t heard…I LOVE THESE!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!! This one is called Patricia BirthdayCake. Isn’t she the cutest!?! Yesterday Cecily Cinnamonsticks landed on my doorstep and OMG…I fell in love with her, too!! The DP on this card is from K&Co. The base of the card is Groovy Guava and it is layered with Purely Pomegranate and PaperTrey white. The flowers are from Prima and I add the bling to the centers…Making Memories brads. Other finishing touches include the paper piercing, SU! ribbon and the scalloped edge layer at the bottom of the card.
