2 Cute Creations and Some More Random Thoughts About Me…

Posted by Jen | random ramblings | Sunday, August 12, 2007

Last month I shared with you some of the creations that my friend, Sabrina, made for her new online company 2 Cute Creations. The other day she came over and showed me some more of her stuff. I think it’s so stinkin’ cute and had to share. PS~she has a line of stuff coming out for adopted kiddos that is so neat.

Also, I got tagged by Julie Balzer, so here it goes :)

Here’s the deal:
1. post these rules
2. each person tagged must post 8 random(… hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3. those tagged should write a blog post of these facts
4. at the end of the post, 8 more bloggers are tagged and named
5. go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they’re tagged

**While I don’t have a problem playing along {I think it’s fun}, I don’t tag others bc some people don’t like it {they don’t think it’s fun}.

1. Last night I had Chicken Marsala at Zio’s.
2. Tomorrow is my 29th birthday, and, no, I was not born on Friday the 13th.
3. I have about 15 projects that need completing that I need to find some time for in the next couple of days.
4. I taught my dogs to square dance. Ok, not really, but when I sing “Swing yer pardner round and round, do-si-do,” they spin in circles. It’s really quite amusing and I am pretty proud of myself for teaching them that stupid dog trick.
5. I woke up about 30 minutes ago.
6. I want to lose at least 33 pounds over the next year. PS~I need cheerleaders!!
7. When I was pregnant, I ate anything that had the word “Oreo” in it. Oreo cookies, Oreo shakes, Oreo ice cream, Oreo borwnies {so yummy}…I could go on, but I have a feeling you catch my drift. Think Forrest Gump talking about shrimp. LOL!!
8. I wonder if people actually read these things about me. :)

Fun & Easy Sketch…

Posted by Jen | challenges | Saturday, August 11, 2007

Here’s another sketch for you to try. Sorry I don’t have a sample. The plan was to go to Target and come home and make the sample. Ellie fell asleep in the car and is finishing her nap on my shoulder right now. I really don’t want to attempt one handed stamping today…LOL. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!!

Stamp Camp…

Posted by Jen | Stamp Camp | Friday, August 10, 2007

Last night was stamp camp. So is this morning. Needless to say, I am a little wiped out! These are the projects that I came up with for this month’s stamp camp. Everyone absolutely LOVED the big clippies…myself included ;) I love that they can be used for so many things.

I have a lot on my plate for the next few weeks. I hope to be blogging almost daily, but if I am MIA for a day or two, give me a pass, please. On Monday I turn 29. The countdown to 30 begins….aaaaaahhhhh!!!! LOL! Tony and I got our gym memberships renewed and I have a goal…be hot by 30!! Ok, so maybe I won’t be Denise Richards hot, but I want to lose 30-35 pounds and not be a chunky monkey by this time next year. I think I might document my progress here, just to keep myself in check. If anyone wants to be my virtual gym/weight loss partner, let me know.

Hello!…

Posted by Jen | random ramblings | Thursday, August 9, 2007

I’m just popping in to say “hello” to everyone. Tony has been home all this week and I have been prepping for Stamp Camp tonight and tomorrow. I hope to bring you some stamping fun tomorrow.

Scrappy Card…

Posted by Jen | cards | Tuesday, August 7, 2007

I’m not sure who actually dubbed the phrase, “Scrappy Card,” but I picked it up from fellow Dirty Dozen alumni Lisa Strahl. This is not something that I usually do, but I really enjoyed it. I made a card using mostly scrapbooking materials/embellishments {obviously, used in card making, too}. This was a lot of fun, as it is something that I usually don’t do.

On this card, I used Daisy D’s patterned paper. The first time I saw this paper I swear that my heart was all a flutter. It reminds me of a dress or something that I had when I was a kid. The best part about it, although not used here, is that it is double sided and both sides are soooo cute!!! The flowers come from a variety of places. The flower on the far left is from the $1 area in Mike’s. The fabric flower was in a 3-pack by Deja Views that was on super sale at the local scrapbook store. Finally, the flower on the right was cut from a coordinating piece of Daisy D’s paper. The stems were created by using my paper piercer and the ribbon is from SU!. I really like the 5/8″ wide ribbon. I have a few colors and I am constantly reaching for them now.
Last, but not least, the sentiment is from PaperTreyInk. Although I have several sentiments that would have worked for this card, I liked the clean crisp font against all the other colors and patterns.
Have a great day!
