Faith & Hope…

Posted by Jen | cards, taylored expressions | Friday, June 5, 2009

Sorry folks, no ABC project today. I had this design for a card in my head and had to go with it and then just plain ran out of time to make another project. Today is release day for all the new sets {and kits} at Taylored Expressions. The set that I am featuring today is called Faith & Hope and contains many uplifting sentiments along with some flourish images.

I used the Cuttlebug Butterfly die in both light blue and vellum cardstock and topped it off with acrylic accents from Stamping Bella. I really like the peacefulness of this card. I thought about adding more details like brads and stitching, but I am glad that I left it as so.

More Surfin’ and a Cupcake…

Posted by Jen | Taylored Expressions/Stamp A Sweet Impression, cards | Thursday, June 4, 2009

It’s day 2 of the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks. The release is tomorrow at 8 am PST, so you don’t have that much longer to wait {YAY!}. Today I am showing 2 cards using 2 different sets.

This first one features Cuppie showing off his surfing skills from the Beach Bum set…

All of the paper, stickers and embellishments are from the Beach Bum Kit. The set and kit can be purchased separately, or as part of the Beach Bum Bundle {say that 3 times fast!}, which also includes Brown Sugar Sparkle Fluff {for creating a sandy texture} and Assorted Summer Brads.

This next card is uses the set For The Love of Cupcakes {I just love that name!}. There are 3 separate cupcake images that can be used alone or with each other, as well as several other “sweet” images and sentiments. I chose to do a single cupcake image to create this card {which is one of my fave cards that I have done for TE}…

Detail shot of the frosting, which uses glitter from the For The Love Of Cupcakes Key Ingredients kit. I LOVE this color. I am so not a colored glitter person, but this is sooo pretty!!

Like the Beach Bum stuff, the For the Love of Cupcakes set and kit are also available in a bundle that also includes Confections Brads, Glitter Stickers {I used the photo corner stickers} and Maya Road cupcake chipboard.

Tomorrow is release day and it’s supposed to be ABC Friday here on my blog. I am not sure if I will have an ABC project {I know, I know!!}. If I don’t, I will make it up to you…promise :)

ETA:
I am so sorry that I forgot to post the links to my other DT members. Here they are, click on the names to see more samples of the 2 sets (3 if you missed yesterday).

A Beary Special Cause…

Posted by Jen | Taylored Expressions/Whimsical Wishes, cards | Wednesday, June 3, 2009

Hi there! Welcome to day 1 of this month’s Taylored Expressions sneak peeks. Today the featured sets are Beary Special and Beary Special Accessories. What makes these sets so “beary” special? First of all, they are cute and perfect for kid’s and get well projects. But the real reason why these are so special is because they will help benefit Sick Kids. The Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) is a health-care community dedicated to improving the health of children. Their mission is to provide the best in family-centered, compassionate care, to lead in scientific and clinical advancement, and to prepare the next generation of leaders in child health. The hospital is located in Canada, but is known around the world for its innovation and leadership in research.

Here is the paper pieced card that I made using the Beary Special set…

This set is also very special to designer, Nancy McKinney. You can see more about Nanci on HER BLOG, or read more about Henri, her son who was helped by Sick Kids on HIS BLOG (username: henri; password: hair). From my understanding all username and password are common knowledge and have been posted on her blog as well.

See you tomorrow for another day of sneak peeks! Don’t forget to check out what the other DT members have made, too!

Stampin’ and Surfin’…

Posted by Jen | Bella, Our Craft Lounge, cards | Monday, June 1, 2009

Monday morning greetings! I wanted to show one of these cards yesterday, but I just didn’t have it in my to blog. I really enjoy taking Sundays off of blogging and especially after the all day swap on Saturday, I just needed a break. But, now I am back…with no pics from Saturday {I forgot my camera}, but I do have 2 cards for today.

The first one is a Bella card that uses Stamping Bella {the stamp!} and the “Born To Craft” sentiment.

The second card uses the new Our Craft Lounge set that is exclusive to eclectic Paperie, Hangin’ Loose with Kona. This is a birthday card for Joy…sorry, it’s so late Joy!!!!
