Rainy Day Tea Time…

Posted by Jen | blog tarts, cards, random ramblings | Wednesday, May 30, 2007

See THIS POST if you want to enter to win stamps {and see why I get to give them to you ;) }!!

For those of you who live in Texas, you know the phrase, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait 10 minutes.” Well, I happened to like the weather this morning, but apparently Mother Nature had some plans of her own. It was nice and sunny early this morning, but soon enough the black clouds started rolling in. I was able to snap a few shot of their creepiness. Ick, right?!?!

So, when I sat down to stamp I wanted something that would warm me up from all this grossness happening outside my window. I grabbed my My Favorite Things set that is going to be released on Friday. Mmmmm….gross weather outside….hot tea inside. This card also uses the colors from today’s Color Challenge on SCS. The Word Window Punch with “Tea Time” stamped on it was a little bit of an afterthought. It is actually covering up a little boo boo. LOL :)

Just Wanted To Share News and a Tart…

Posted by Jen | blog tarts, random ramblings | Tuesday, May 29, 2007

A couple weeks ago I got a phone call from Brenda Peterson, Editorial Assistant of Paper Crafts Magazine. She was calling to congratulate me on my Stamping Royalty win…WoooHooo!! As she continued, she let me know that not only did I win in one category, but I won in three categories. WoooHooo x 3!!!! Needless to say, I was a *little* ecstatic. I got a jumbo prize package in the mail that included this tiara. LOL!! I can’t wait to get a picture with it on!

Also included in my prize package was a set of stamps that I happen to already have. Hmmm, what should I do with these? You guessed it…I’m offering them up as a blog tart!

As you know, I introduce a new Guest Designer on the 1st of each month. You are going to love what this girl has come up with for us to ogle at! To be entered to win the blog tart, guess who you think it is, or who you would like to see featured here. I will be announcing the winner of the blog tart on the 1st, along with the new Guest Designer. Good Luck!

**PS** two of the three people that won last time never responded, so Debbie got some extra goodies in her blog tart package. Very interesting ;)

Interesting Conversation and Winners…

Posted by Jen | blog tarts, random ramblings | Monday, May 21, 2007

Wow! What interesting things you had to say, especially in the last post! I want to make myself clear by saying that the overall comment decline on SCS is more of an observation than anything. More people are blogging and spending less time on SCS. It’s really a simple cause and effect. In no way was this a rant, but rather just letting out an opinion and seeing what others had to say. I find it interesting that many of you prefer the blogs because it brings you closer to the person. I don’t have the time, unfortunately, so blog hopping seems tedious. I love SCS and the community that I came to know. I realize that it is getting huge and some people, newbies especially, can get lost in all of it. Anywhoooo… Thanks for letting me in on what you think. Have a wonderful day. This week I will be posting a couple tutorials and a super yummy dessert recipe.

Winners: (selected randomly on random.org)

I’ve been stamping for 10 years now. I absolutely love my paper crafts! Its my therapy–I just wouldn’t be normal without it!! :)
You have a great blog! Thanks for sharing!!

LOVE your room and the green paint! My favorite non-card projects are coasters. I love making magnets, calendars, mini albums, etc. with them! Plus, as a bonus, you can put them on a card! lol!

For the blog tart posted on Saturday:

#80 Debbie Fisher

I don’t comment as much on SCS OR blogs just because we have dial up and it takes forever to leave a comment. I already look at so many blogs that I would be on line all day Ü
I do see your point though, but personally for me SCS is getting so big that the community part is already lost for me, so I enjoy reading the blogs.
Debbie

Winners will need to email me {link under my pic} with full name and address. Thanks :)

Yummy Blog Tarts…

Posted by Jen | blog tarts, random ramblings | Saturday, May 19, 2007

No challenge today. I figure with VSN going on that you are challenged out. I’m thinking of canceling the Saturday challenges all together because different challenges seem to have popped up on a lot of blogs and it seems to be a little overwhelming. I figure between awesome daily challenges on SCS and all the others that are out there {and there are some good ones} that I don’t need to have one here. Thoughts?

Yes, it’s true, I am offering up more blog tarts. Why I am I offering 3 blog tarts in 4 days? Well, I just moved my stamp room {see last post} and have realized that I have enough for me and enough to share {on some things}, so WHY NOT?
Here is my offering for today…more Primas and ribbon!

What do you have to do to win these yummies? Just read my commentary below and tell me what you think.

I named my blogroll “I Blog, You Blog, They Blog” just because I thought it sounded a little funny and didn’t really know what to name it. The truth is it seems like everyone has a blog these days. Which I think is neat, but I think that it is taking away from the sense of community that originally all brought us together. Back in February, the Paperlicious blog posted THIS about Stamper’s Nuerosis. I think she was spot on in her opinions, but did we actually LISTEN to what she had to say, or just HEAR it? I, as well as other SCSers, have noticed an overall decline in comments. I am certainly not pointing fingers, because I am just as guilty. Now, I know that sounds like I am giving into the neurosis, but think of it this way…Are the comments going down because everyone is in this “game” for themselves? Are we drawing away from what initially brought us together? Am I crazy to think this way or what can we do about it?

I am really interested to hear your thoughts. Ironically, I wanted to post this in the forums on SCS, but feared the flames that would arise. Anywhooooooo…

All blog tart winners will be drawn on Monday morning through random selection. You may enter ONCE per blog tart. I moderate my comments, so if you don’t see your comment right away, it’s because I have to approve it.

Now, I’m off to comment on some VSN stuff and complete some swaps for tonight. Have a beautiful weekend and I will see you on Monday! :)

ETA: After re-reading my posts and your comments I see that I may have not positioned my questioning well. Although, I am finding what you have to say VERY interesting. I guess I just feel that I feel a loss of community at SCS because of all the blogs. Which I see is the opposite of what others think, and I can appreciate that. Does this all seem like a game? Or is a way to better ourselves and our stamping community? I like having this space for my family and friends that are not stampers so they can see what is going on creatively in my life.
