Things You Ought To Know About…

My Favorite Things is releasing One, Two, Three brand spankin’ new sets on Wednesday evening. There’s no better way to kick off a release than with a COCKTAIL PARTY!! I hope that you will join me, the MFT Design Team and other MFT friends HERE in the SCS Member Company Forum on Wednesday night from 9-11 EST. What’s a party without give aways, coupon codes, sneak peeks and a chance to become MFT’s next Guest Designer? Hope to see you there!

**I will have samples of the new releases posting over the next few days.** There is something that Kim has already released…digi papers!! They are so fun to play with!! You can check them out HERE.

Over the past week or so I have come across some reeeally fun projects. I just want to share some links with you in case you have not seen them yet. Let me know if you think that I missed any!!

Rebecca Oehler’s Altered Acrylic Blocks (already went to Mike’s and got the smaller version of these blocks for a little something I have planned)
Corrine Somerville’s Gift Card Holder (she has noted that she got this from her friend Patty)
Cindy Gilchrist’s Acetate Bag (now those digi papers are looking real good, huh??)

1 down (almost), 3 to go…

Five days in a typical workweek. Last week, each of those work days was home to its very own final exam. On one hand, it was nice to be able to focus on one exam a day. On the other, it would have been nicer to sleep one night.

There was no sweet relief when the last exam was over however, because there is a massive project that is going to consume my next 6 consecutive days like no other project I can remember. Hence the “almost” in this first semester being over, with 3 to go. But I’m not here to rant about that, I want to rant about the Friday final.
For starters, the class was my least favorite of the semester. I am convinced that we spent half a semester beating a topic to death that could have been handled in an 8 hour seminar. But that is besides the point at this… um, point.

(By the way, I better get waffles for breakfast in the morning because I’m typing this as my beloved Sooners are battling their way to a Big XII Championship. I never get to do what I want to do.)

Our final was scheduled from 11am-2pm (apparently the schedule makers agree with Gordon Gekko that lunch is for wimps). Our professor thus lovingly volunteered to bring pizzas to class for us. While a lovely gesture I’m sure, who thinks this is going to turn out well?

45 minutes into our final, the Domino’s pizza driver (who could be accurately described as Horatio Sanz’ chubbier brother) barges into our final and disrupts everyone. When everything settles down, start the parade of freeloaders looking for their two slices. Whatever, I was one of them. But that doesn’t change the fact that there was undoubtedly someone just trying to take their final while everyone else murmured, mingled and munched.

By the way, did I mention that the professor told us when the exam started that we weren’t allowed to leave the classroom until we turned in our exam?

So, you told us you were bringing pizza, that we should bring something to drink, but we have to sit for 3 hours with no bathroom breaks? Cool.

(Update: Game’s over - Sooner domination.)

I know this isn’t the worst thing in the world. I don’t even know where I wanted to go with this rant. I just find it mind boggling that a PH.D. can lack that much common sense. I guess I’ll have a lot more to rant about if I’m not happy with my grade… stay tuned.

Hi, everyone! I’m Christina Fischer. I’m a wife to a very supportive husband, and I am a SAHM to four great kids, ages 15, 13, 6 and 4. In my “former life” I was an elementary school teacher, and I hope to return to the classroom someday. I’ve been into crafting as long as I can remember, but I began my love affair with rubber and ink in 2001 when a friend invited me to a Stampin’ Up! workshop. I eventually became a hobby demo to support my ever-growing habit. When I was introduced to Splitcoaststampers, my eyes were opened to all the incredible talent out there, as well as all the products and companies I didn’t know existed! I eventually started my own gallery at SCS — you’ll find me there as cmf1216. Because of SCS, I’ve really stretched and improved my papercrafting. My main focus is card making, but I also enjoy altering items and doing 3-D projects. Several months ago I started my blog, Flowers and Ink, and so far it’s been a great adventure! I’m having fun and making wonderful friends along the way! I am currently on the Design Team for All That Scraps, and I hope to have more design opportunities in my future. I’m thrilled and honored to be iheart2stamp’s Guest Designer this month — thank you so much, Jen, for asking me! :)

Thanks again, Jen!

I have a sample that I created posted just below the sketch, and Christina was kind enough to create a sample as well. As always, don’t forget to peek in on the blogs of my friends Carole Burrage, Shannan Teubner and Susan Liles for some stunning samples!!

**Be sure to link your card/project here and if you upload to SCS, please use the keyword SFYTT**
