A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That…

Posted by Jen | random ramblings | Saturday, July 14, 2007

Well, first I have good news and bad news…
Good news: The mojo has been found! WooHoo!
Bad News: I used it towards projects I cannot yet share with you. You might just want to stay tuned to the Dare To Get Dirty challenges on SCS, tho!!

Second, I have even better news…
I have been selected to be a Staff Reporter for Craft Critique. I am extremely excited {and a wee bit nervous} about this. I am in the company of some super talented and extremely nice girlies, so I can’t wait to get started!

Third, I have been tagged. I think I’ve actually been tagged a few times and I just keep forgetting to post my info. Anyways, here it goes…

The rules are as follows:

*Post 7 random things about yourself
*Tag 7 other bloggers
*Post the rules
*Leave tagged bloggers comments on their site.

The first thing I am going to do is break the “rules.” I have no problem playing along, but I am not a forward/chain person, so I will refrain from tagging.

1. I don’t really know what my natural hair color is. I have been coloring it since high school and have fun switching between auburn or dark brown with highlights.

2. On the same note, I used to be very blonde…naturally. It was when it started to get dark that I decided to say adios to au natural.

3. I don’t like cheap chocolate all that much. Now that’s not to say that I won’t eat it, but I love me some good pricey milk chocolate.

4. I’ll be 29 next month and I drive a mini van. AND…I love it!

5. I have done many sports competitively. Including soccer, swimming, track, basketball and volleyball. My favorite is soccer.

6. I have the Amy Winehouse song, “Rehab” stuck in my head and I can’t get it out!!!

7. I can’t fall asleep if I know that my stamp space is a wreck. I have to put things back to feel at rest. Go ahead and order the straight jacket now!!

So if you haven’t been tagged and want to play, go right ahead. Thanks to the chicas that tagged me…it was fun being random.

{Trying To Get} Back In The Groove…

Went into my stamp room last night for the first time in about 10 days and…nothing. No inspiration, no great ideas…nothing. I figured I would sleep on it and something would come to me…nope. I had to stamp, though. So, this is what I came up with. I can’t say that I love it, but I guess I don’t hate it either. The inspiration I had in mind is all the 1 year old birthdays that are coming up very quickly. I am crossing my fingers that the inspiration fairy will sprinkle some of her magic fairy dust on me very very soon!!

I’ve been on vacation for the past week. Ellie celebrated her first birthday on Sunday. All in all it was a lot of fun, but I must admit that I am happy to be back home. Needless to say, I have nothing new stamped, but I did pick up some new stuff at Stamp Diego. So here’s a pic of my new goodies, along with some pictures of Ellie’s baptism and birthday. I’ll be back with stamped stuff soon.

Happy Birthday Dad…

Posted by Jen | cards | Saturday, July 7, 2007

Today is my dad’s 69th birthday. Happy Birthday Pops! Last year I called to wish him a happy birthday from the Labor and Delivery room of the hospital. Ellie and Dad almost shared a birthday, but she decided she wasn’t sharing. She wanted her own birthday…tomorrow, July 8. She has a bib that says, “More like Mommy everyday.” Tony likes to say that when she is being a lil’ toot, and I bet he would say it about her not wanting to share. LOL
Anyways, back to Dad. This is the card that I made for him this year. I am pretty sure that I used Balmy Breezes last year, too. Something tells me that he might not notice. Even if he does, that’s ok. ;) The image is colored with an AquaPainter in various colors. I distressed the edges a little to make it look worn (it just looked too crisp before!). The GORGEOUS ribbon is faux suede from one of Jody’s ribbon shares. I really had trouble cutting into since I just got it, but I figured it was worth it for this card!

My friend, Sabrina, has just as much of an addiction to fabric and thread as I have to rubber and ink. On July 1st, she launched her website, 2cutecreations. She makes and sells the **most darling** baby stuff and I couldn’t pass up a chance to share this stuff with you! She will also be creating a line specifically for adopted children in the near future.

Here’s a peek at her wonderful work…
