YUM-O, I’m Inspired…
May 25th, 2007 by Jen
I {heart} Rachel Ray’s magazine.
Truth is, I’ve only read a couple issues, but I know that a subscription is on my birthday wish list. When I picked this one up, I was immediately drawn to the colors and started thinking about all the SU! colors that matched…Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and Groovy Guava…except Groovy Guava isn’t available yet, so Cameo Coral had to do.
Now I have to say…Blame it on Balcer!!! She is the one that MADE me get this Peony Panel by Stampendous stamp! Yes folks, she MADE me do it!! Um…ok…not really. I just REEEEAAAALLLY liked the card that she did here and was inspired to purchase and create with this stamp {funny thing is, that it’s not even the same exact stamp…smooches Jenn}. I stamped the panel in my Burnt Umber Palette ink pad and used my re-inkers and Aquapainter to color the image. I’ve noted before in other posts that I am no watercolorer, but I swear a stamped image and an Aquapainter makes it just about fool proof!
I used Paisley background on the Chocolate Chip layer and Floral background on the Certainly Celery layer. The ric-rac {how the heck do you spell that??} is actually paper!! It’s part of the Paper Frills collections by Doodle Bug Designs and it can be purchased at Recollections or eclectic Paperie.
Some stuff to look forward to:
1. First and foremost…A long weekend
2. Another tutorial with a challenge tomorrow
3. A fun announcement with some blog candy early next week
4. A funny joke this Sunday
5. Tony will be writing a post here next Sunday {he’s here the first Sunday of each month}
What a beautiful card, Jen. I always enjoy your watercoloring. Great job!
This looks awesome Jen…love the color palette!
Oh Wow - it’s gorgeous!!! I love that card. Oh my now I want that stamp. FABULOUS!!!
I am dying here!!! I made an anniversary card for Mike back in March with this long panel - just flip yours on the side; mine went across the card. Funny that the one I made was cameo with turquoise and chocolate, too! I love it!
I love this card! Don’t ya just hate enablers!
I was just reading the same magazine this morning and admiring the dress, but instead of being inspired I drooled over the recipes.
I too love the AquaPainter. I think I use it in all of my classes and when I don’t my customers always ask about it. They all have 1 or 2 sets too because it is so easy to use.
I love the card! The colors in the panel are gorgeous and go together so well with everything else.
Jen, I love the color combo. Her dress is gorgeous! So is card!
Blame it on Balcer! Bwahahaha! There’s not enough room in this post to list all the things that I have HAD to have because of Jenn (I have some Stampendous Peonies, Fancy Pants Pollen Dust and too many others to list).
Super gorgeous card Jen! I love the Peonies all colored in Coral. Just a straight forward, fabulous card!
Linda
I love how you interpreted the colour combination! Beautiful!
this card is gawgeous! I love the colors and I love the faux ric-rack with the ribbon. Darn it-all though, I may have to have that peony pannel. too much to comment on, cuz the whole thing is kewl.
I love your blog. Every post is a gem. Thanks for sharing your cards and thoughts and faux eyelets!! and recipes!! Yum.
beautiful colors, and awesome card! That faux ricrack is cool!!
I love these colors together, and your coloring looks perfect! Gorgeous card!!
I did not renew my Racheal Ray mag. I just am bored by it I guess. Pretty card tho.
The card is so pretty! I love the colors, and the flower stamp is lovely! Very nice!
Beautiful card, just love your color combo…and now you’ve made me want this stamp!
