Mommy’s Time Out…

Posted by Jen | random ramblings | Thursday, May 3, 2007

My friend, Brandi, and I went to Central Market {I was going to try to link this, but it does not appear that their website is working} the other day and while cruising the wine section, I found this.

How funny is this? Well, I think it’s pretty darn funny. The great thing is that I {heart} Pinot Grigio! Just about everyone I know is into red wine, but not me. I stick with my Pinot and love it! Just beware…after 2 glasses I am a chatty lil’ lady! LOL!!

On another note, I have passed the 50K mark, so I am going to be offering up some blog tarts VERY soon.

Sketch Challenge…

Posted by Jen | cards | Wednesday, May 2, 2007

OMG…I did 2 challenges in a row this week. WOW!! It feels so good to stamp for myself! I have been working on a lot of other things lately, and am just now getting back into a groove. This card is for today’s sketch challenge on SCS. I really how this very simple layout lends itself to so many possibilities. This card was not made for anyone, but being that I hear of someone else expecting just about every week, it is a good card to keep on hand. This is a really cute set from My Favorite Things. I’m not sure if you can tell, but there are pink rattles stamped on the pink paper. I love that all of these images are fun to work with, color and you can easily use many of them for background stamping.
Don’t forget to check out the **NEW** Guest Designer, Dawn, in the post below. Also, take a peek at Saturday’s challenge…what have you done for yourself lately?
Have a great day!

Hi Stampin Friends :
My name is Dawn Griffith I live in Pontiac, Michigan and WOWZIE what a surprise it was to recieve Jen’s email to ask me to be her guest designer for May .. What an Honor to be asked to fill such a elite bunch of Awesome designers ..Thanks so much Jen {{{{{cyber Hugs}}}}
Ok a little about me .. HUMMM Seems I fell into Stamping by total surprise. My Cousin invited me to come to her SU! workshop back in early 2003 ( I was just going to buy a couple things,,, Yea right famous last words ) and OH my gosh what an exciting Day that was .. Not knowing what I know now of course BUT I knew right from the beginning that this was gonna be right up my alley .. Shortly after that night I signed up to be a demonstrator with SU! and have been enjoying this Stamping journey ever since then … I Love stamping mainly for 2 reasons making people smile and the Instant gratification I get with each design .. I have no clue what my style of stamping is.. I do know I love it all ,But I really seem to be drawn to all kinds of moving cards you know the ones where there is always something that pops up, slides out, unsnaps, and magically appears with a big surprise & that really grabs your attention and even those fancy folds catch my eye quite often .. soon after signing up as a demo with SU! I had found SCS OMG SO many amazing stampers in one place… I never knew this world existed, ( Yes it is another world isn’t ?) let alone the excitement of being asked to be a guest designer on Jen’s site .. Just in total shock .. One question I have been asked so much since my love affair with rubber stamping is … How do I find the time to stamp ? and that I must not have a life ( Yea right ) I always respond , When someone finds something they love don’t they make the time for it .. as Charles Buxton once said : You will never find time for anything. If you want the time, you must make it.( very true HUH?)
I am a SAHM and I just turned 40 this past January . This August 31st My hubby and me will be celebrating our 19 wedding anniversary. We have one daughter ( Jessie 14 yrs old 9th grade ) my whole family is Very active in our church I am a Sunday School teacher for 1-3rd grade and VBS music director ( love it ) and My hubby is a Decon and Youth director at our church . I love reading Stampin magazines and of course my Favorite show on TV is LOST ! In Oct 2004 I had my right knee replacement ( which is doing fabulous ) and this May 10th I am looking forward to having my left knee replaced so I can walk like a normal person with out this yucky limp . I must say though since having this limp for some time now I have become a custom to walking even faster than most , and especially when there are display boards to look at during a Stampin’Up! convention you may have seen this gal doing a fast sprint to get there (wink wink) . Thank you Jen for this Great opportunity and I Look forward to many more exciting adventures in my Stampin journey and getting to know all of you “my new stampin Friends” ..
Thank you again Jen
Stampingly yours
Dawn Griffith
