Kids, Do Not Try This At Home…

I wouldn’t classify my self as a germ-o-phobe, but I can say that there is nothing grosser than a wet kitchen sink sponge. I normally do not even buy them, but for some reason we had a Scotch-Brite sponge and I used it the other day to scrub a pot. That was the other day. Yesterday it was gross…even after draining/drying for a couple days. Well, my DH knows what I think about kitchen sink sponges and was kind enough to send me an email telling me that you can dry your sponges and kill most of the germs on them by putting them in the microwave for 3 minutes. So, I did. There should have been a little disclaimer on there that said, “Don’t do this with the sponges with the scrubby surface!” When I opened my microwave after 3 minutes, I was “welcomed” with a poof of smoke. Nothing was on fire, but I can certainly say there was some smoldering going on! Needless to say, DO NOT put your scrubby sponges in the microwave! Fortunately, I have quite the collection of smelly (the good kind of smelly) candles and I had one burn until bedtime. Anyways, I just thought I would share how I almost burnt down our house last night. LOL! Ironically, this is not the first time that something has caught fire in my microwave. When I was a kid, I thought it would be a great idea to take all my old shorty crayons and melt them into cubes. So, I popped the old shorties into ice cube trays and put them in the microwave on high. Do you see where this is going? Thank goodness for fire extinguishers!
Have a great weekend!!

And The Winner Is…

Congratulations to TARA {harleysmom}! She is the winner of the blog candy I posted earlier in the week.

Sorry, Tara, but you are not getting a trip to for 2 to Hawaii, but you are getting a coaster box kit. What’s that, you ask? Well, I think coaster boxes are fun and great little gifts, so I thought that I would make a little kit that had everything in it {except} glue to make one. I included some yummy Basic Grey paper from their Blush line, heavy weight coasters and ribbon. Everything is already punched. All you have to do is put it together. Tara is also getting a big clippie made from One Heart One Mind papers. AND…a personalized luggage tag {like the one I did for Kate}.

Tara, please email me {the link is under my pic} with your full name and address.
