ABC Friday~Oh, Christmas Tree…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Holidays, projects | Friday, December 5, 2008

I love the spirit of Christmas and all the inspiration I get from it. Over the Thanksgiving weekend I scribbled down tons of ideas in my notebook. This lil’ Christmas tree is one of them. It’s created from 4 triangles {explanation below}, along with some silver cording, crystals and gorgeous satin ribbon {from Taylored Expressions}.

One shot of the top view…

Another top view, showing how I the cording through the top and the glued on bow…

Detail shot of the 2 kinds of crystals I used. Can you see the itty bitty green ones?…

To create this you will need:
4 pieces of patterned paper {I used K & Co.} cut to 3″x4.25″
Ribbon
Silver Cording
Glue
Scallop Edge Punch {SU!}
Scoring Tool

Instructions:
1. Mark the center {1.5″} of one of the 3″ sides.
2. From that mark cut diagonally to each of the corners, creating a triangle.
3. Scallop edges of long sides.
4. On each of the scalloped sides, score just on the inside of the scalloped edge.
5. Glue together the scalloped edges to create the tree.
6. Before gluing the last 2 sides together, create a loop with the silver cording and place knot on the inside of the tree.
7. Attach ribbon to top of the tree. I hot glued mine on, but you can always tie it around the cording.
8. Embellish as desired :)

A Glowing Holiday Gift…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Taylored Expressions/Stamp A Sweet Impression, projects | Thursday, October 23, 2008

Happy ABC Friday! I’m posting a little early so that you can see my creation right as the new Stamp A Sweet Impression stamps are released…yep, they are available now!

A few weeks ago the SASI Design Team chose sentiments from the new Tag Treats set to create projects with to show you today. I immediately was drawn to the sentiment that says, “Warmest Wishes for a Glowing Holiday.” I had a few different ideas swirling in my head about what to do and finally decided on a luminaria.

As taken and edited slightly from Wikipedia…A luminaria is a light or little lantern, usually a candle inside a paper lamp shade.

Here is my girly, sparkly, SASI take on it {it’s essentially a 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 box that I created into a mini latern}…

In the dark…

**Fake candle!!**

See how SPAR-KA-LAY it is {I used Stampedous Stardust EP on this}?…

And, of the course, the sentiment…

Many of the elements used in this project are from the Christmas Key Ingredients kit, which comes with tons of paper, ribbon and glitter. Taylor showed a peek of this on Thursday HERE. Want to win the kit? Check this out…

We’re introducing our Campaign to Spread the Sweetness! Meet The Verve Diva Part 12 and Fairy Nice TCP Projects…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, Verve, cards, challenges | Thursday, September 25, 2008

That’s me…the Verve Diva. For the past 12 weeks each member of the Verve Stamps Design Team has been posting a challenge in the Verve forum on SCS. In those posts, you are invited to get to know the Diva a little better by asking questions about her. Today I issued the challenge to use PURPLE. I chose this challenge because purple was my wedding color and Tony and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary on Saturday. YAY US!
So, here is my card using all Verve stamps…

Tomorrow is the new release from The Cat’s Pajamas. The other day I showed you stuff from the Halloween set that is coming out. Today I want to show you some “fairy nice” projects I did…

Tomorrow is gonna be Bella and TCP-rific for ABC Friday!! See ya then!
