What a wonderful weekend and Mother’s Day! Tony’s family was here from San Diego. We had lots of fun all together and Tony and I even got to go out on a date…wahooo!! For Mother’s Day I got a beautiful popsicle stick frame with a picture of Ellie in the middle of the “O.” My dear husband was wonderful at taking “not so subtle” hints about the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge I can’t wait to make stuff with it…so cute!! My SIL sent flowers to all of the moms here and they are still blooming…GORGEOUS!! It was nice to share the day with family! I hope all you moms had a great Mother’s Day, too!

For today, I have another card using some of the newest Verve stamps. This card features stamps from the Blessings set. I love this color scheme for a spring or summer wedding. I was just thinking that adding a touch of bright pink would really liven it up, too.

Well, we are already off to a busy start to our week. I went to the gym this morning to kick off my next level of working out/weight loss. I am vowing to basically kick myself in the butt over the next 4 weeks. I have my workouts planned and am eating healthy. I want 8 pounds off in these next 4 weeks. That will set me up for 15 more to lose. I got out of my fat jeans the other day…YAY! The next size down is still a wee tight in the booty, but I think that will change in the next week or two. So far, I am happy with my results. It’s hard work, but I know that it will be worth it in the end {no pun intended!}. Have a great week! Happy Friday Y’all! It’s a beautiful spring here in North Texas. We’ve been busy working on some landscaping in out front and backyards. I can’t wait until we are done and I can post some pics of our {ok, mostly Tony’s} hard work. Hopefully we will wrap everything up in the next week or two. There’s actually not a whole lot more to do, but balancing time between yard work and family is proving to be quite the juggling act.

In addition to the work outside, I’ve managed to find a little stamping time. This is one of the cards that I made for the latest Verve release…

I had a whole lotta fun with my Sakura Stardust pen and aquapainter filled with rubbing alcohol. I worked the glitter around the clear embossed “wave” and Prima flowers…

To achieve the glittered wave, I simply colored a line around the clear embossed wave and then moved the glitter around using the alcohol in the aquapainter. On the Prima flowers, I outlined the flowers and then used the aquapainter to move the glitter inward. I repeated this until I got the desired amount glitter layering the paper and flowers.

It’s the first Saturday of the month…YAY! Of course that means that I have a new Designer of the Month to introduce to you…

Hello from down under! My name is Iwona, I’m a SAHM to a 7 months old Zuzanna, a wifey to the best husband evah, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the sweet little *obsession* called card making. Raise your hand if you like new stamps {me, me, me!!}. You are gonna LOVEEEE the new release from Verve…and NO, I don’t have to say that {unless, I truly believe it…and I do!}. They just scream summer and fresh and fun. I’m still ogling some of my Christmas stamps, but I figure that considering that it IS April that I need to move on and think of the warmer days ahead {thank goodness, bc it’s been especially cold here this winter!}.

Here’s my first card using the to-be-released-Friday set, Relax. This is one of my fave cards that I have made in a loooong time. I think that I have mentioned that my stamping time is next to none these days and with that my mojo has been in a depression. Dear Mojo, please snap out of it!! At least my Mojo was around when I had to make this one…

Yep, that’s the cork that I was supposed to use on yesterday’s card, too. Lovin’ the ricrac die…
