TCP Tuesday: Let’s Hear it for the GIRLS!…

**2nd post for today**

Last week I was a little late {ahem, Saturday} for TCP Tuesday, so I thought I better get my rear in gear and learn my days of the week this week! Susan is your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week and she brings you the challenge to use any of your The Cat’s Pajamas GIRLS. Play along with us for a chance to win some CAT CASH {Moolah to spend on new TCP stamps!}

You’ll notice that a lot of the DT members are playing with some new stuff we just got in the mail. These stamps and CutUps will be released later this month. More deets on that very soon! ;)

This card uses the upcoming set MERRY WISHES and what do you think about the die cut snowflake? It will all be part of the next release {YAY!}…

I resisted paper piecing her coat and colored her in with my Copics. On the fluffy parts of her hat and gloves, I first put Diamond Stickles and then a thin layer of white Flower Soft. It’s fluffy and sparkly!!…

You’ll also noticed that I reached for my trusty linen thread, again. I LOVE THIS STUFF! I’m not knocking PTI, but I am not a fan of their threads, as they are quite fuzzy and break easily. This linen thread is strong and smooth, creating a nice clean finish to whatever you choose to add it to. And, at only $2.75 for an entire spool, it’s a steal!

Well, I gotta get back to taming the beast. ;) No outside playtime today…cold {not getting above 60!!} and rainy {so far it’s just been sprinkling}. Do you think I can teach a 10 month old to stamp? This could be interesting! Hahahaha!!

Sketch For You to Try {Winner Announced}…

Saturday, already? Halloween, still? WOW, this week went by fast and I love Halloween, but I can’t believe it’s not over yet! LOL! Ellie had a Halloween party at school on Thursday, one today and, of course, Halloween Trick-or-Treating tomorrow. She is a mermaid this year and Nic is going to be her crab{by} friend. I hope the both of them will cooperate for a few pics!

I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to Laura Pryor of Lil’ Inker Designs for sponsoring us last week! I hope you enjoyed seeing all the fun stuff you can do with that die/set combo. It is a lot of fun! The random participant from last week that wins this die/set combo is {insert drumroll here ;)}…

TCP Tuesday Blog Hop…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, blog hopping, cards, challenges | Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Happy Tuesday from all of us at The Cat’s Pajamas. Today we are mixing things up a little bit and having a blog hop for TCP Tuesday to go along with the Customer Blog Hop that so many of you signed up for, too. HERE is the link to my post regarding the Customer Hop, with information regarding where you can send your PINK cards to.

Did you hop here from my sweet and talented friend, Carole’s, blog? If not take a little rewind time :) Amy Rohl is one of my favorite designers and she is your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week, and also the start of this blog hop. She is challenging all of us PINK embellishments on our projects, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I do love me some pink, and this is what I came up with…

pink_tcptues_hop

I used some of my Echo Park paper paired with the TCP set, Joyride. As for those pink embellishments, the ribbon some “old” SU! ribbon that begs to be used from time to time, along with an American Crafts sparkly button and some of YUMMY Divine Twine from The Cat’s Pajamas {love!!}. The acrylic dots on the right side of the circle are from Stamping Bella and the acrylic “headlight” is a Dew Drop from Robin’s Nest.

Want to play along with this PINK challenge? If so, you have a chance to grab some serious Cat Cash and be the next Swanky Stamper of the Month. Here are the deets…

1. Each a week one of The Cat’s Pajamas DT members will host a challenge.
2. The challenges will vary {stamp, technique, color, theme, sketch, etc.}
3. You will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge.
4. Link to your post using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this blog.
5. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp}
6. There will be one winner each month. They will be deemed that month’s Swankiest Stamper and get $25 in Cat’s Cash {money to spend on the TCP site!}.
7. Only designs posted to THE CAT’S PAJAMAS blog will be considered for the Swanky Stamper.
8. The newly crowned Swanky Stamper will be announced on the First of the Month and have his/her winning entry posted on The Cat’s Pajamas website where he/she will reign for the entire month.

Now off you hop hop hop to Joanne’s blog where I am sure she has some more wonderful pinkness for you to check out!

Halloween Wreath…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, MFT, The Cat's Pajamas, projects | Monday, October 11, 2010

I am absolutely loving seeing and making Halloween projects this year! There are so many fun projects to do out there and I am hoping to get a few more done before the holiday passes us by. Of course, I am excited for Nic’s first Halloween, too! Ellie has gotten her mermaid costume and Nic is going to be a crab! I didn’t buy a big plush crab costume, but rather found a couple items on etsy that he will be wearing along with some red clothing. I’ll be sure to post pics after the big day!

Back to those projects I was talking about! I have been hopping around different crafty sites and recently found a wreath made from cupcake wrappers on tatertots & jello {very cool blog/site}. If you click the link, you can see that she did more of a Valentine inspired wreath, but I knew that I could twist it into a “spooky” one. Here’s what I came up with, also using my Pennant Banner CutUps from The Cat’s Pajamas and digi Bling ‘Bet Alpha from My Favorite Things

halloweenwreath

Yep, it’s made from cupcake wrappers! Almost 120 of them! It sounds like it would take forever, but it actually didn’t take too long. I didn’t do it all in one sitting, though. I kept it on my kitchen island and did a few here and there throughout a morning. Both the wreath {supply suggested on the tatertots & jello site} and the wrappers are from the $1 store.

Detail shot of the Martha Stewart glittered bats {EK Success} and some of the stitching, etc…

halloweenwreath_bat

I also glittered the letters and then on the small bats, I used Ranger enamel {yes, it’s a must have product!!}…

halloweenwreath_b

This is definitely one of my favorite projects that I have made recently, I you can bet that you will probably be seeing more of them from me!

TIP…If you use cupcake wrappers that are printed on the outside, but white in the middle, just flip about half of them inside out so that more of that printing shows.

TCP Tuesday…

It’s time for another great challenge from THE CAT’S PAJAMAS crew. This week’s challenge is a fun sketch brought to you by none other than the head honcho herself, Alma. Lots and lots of possibilities with this one…

Here’s my card using the new set, WITCHY

tcptues100510

tcptues100510_bats

I decided to mix and match my patterns for a little added interest. I never thought that these would go together, but either I stared at them long enough that they do or they actually do. LOL! The bats at the very top are a Marth Stewart punch that I added Ranger black enamel to…love that stuff! If you clicked the link for the enamel, you can see that it comes in a package of black and white…which I see covering/smothering some snowflakes in the very new future! The moon on my card was created with a circle Nestabilities die. Super easy to do…cut the circle out and then, using the same die, cut out a portion to create the crescent shape. Make sense? Hope so! :)
